AOC blasts Democrats for losing Latino voters

'The Five' panelists react to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez 'lashing' out at her own party during an interview on 'Pod Save America' for failing to seriously court Latino voters.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., criticized President Biden for not including illegal immigrants in his pardon for those federally convicted of simple marijuana possession.

Ocasio-Cortez made the comments during an episode of "Pod Save America" that was released on Tuesday.

"I can at least say with Latino voters, we've never tried as a party. The Democratic Party has not tried in terms of Latino electorates. And, I mean, where's our Dream Act, where is our immigration reform. And even recently with President Biden's marijuana executive order, I very much applaud that he went there, but he exempted people who were convicted if they were convicted while they were undocumented," Ocasio-Cortez said.

Biden announced the pardon of all prior convictions for federal offenses of simple marijuana possession on Oct. 6.

Biden said in a tweet after announcing the pardons that "no one should be in jail just for using or possessing marijuana."

"First: I'm pardoning all prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession. There are thousands of people who were previously convicted of simple possession who may be denied employment, housing, or educational opportunities as a result. My pardon will remove this burden," Biden tweeted.

However, the proclamation pardoning the federal offenses states that it wouldn't apply to illegal immigrants.

"This pardon does not apply to individuals who were non-citizens not lawfully present in the United States at the time of their offense," the proclamation states.

An administration official told Fox News Digital that the pardon applies to U.S. citizens and green card holders, but said that people not in those groups could apply for a pardon.

"This particular pardon is limited to U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents who committed simple possession of marijuana," the official said. "Others who believe they have persuasive cases for clemency can apply through the regular pardon process.

"Such petitions will receive an individualized review at the Justice Department before being presented to the President for potential executive action," the official continued.

Dimbulbs like AOC are trying to normalize illegal that supports her agenda’s and criminalize legal for things that don’t.

Her stances are almost childlike in nature.

Why are AOC, Biden, and so many others afraid to call these people by the legal definition of what they are ... ILLEGAL ALIENS?

Let's look back to 2016 for one of many examples ...

Another ...

Well, for starters, many Democrats seem to think some poem on the Statue of Liberty is some sort of national policy.

To be fair, it's not only Democrats who don't know the history; there are Republicans as well. But, the bottom line is that there are far too many Americans who don't know the history of the statue and Emma Lazarus' sonnet, "The New Colossus" but use it as an excuse for illegal immigration.

We don't need to shoot them.

Just remove every creature comfort that they and their family have. No free schooling- if their children can't prove they are US citizens or their parents are legal immigrants. No government hand outs at the Federal, State, or local level to any non US citizen. If states or cities are sanctuary then all federal assistance is cut off.

Announce a cutoff date for any illegal immigrants within the country to depart. Any caught after that date will be prosecuted, deported, and never allowed to return under any circumstances.

If an illegal immigrant breaks any law; even jay walking; they and their family are deported never to return.

Any illegals that are gainfully employed and paying taxes- their employers must register them so that they; and by extension their families get work VISA's. These work VISA's will last as long as they are employed. Once unemployed they must find new employment within 3 months or all assistance is removed; and if they are caught they are expelled never to return.

These laws apply to dreamers as well. They can obtain work VISA's and try for full citizenship; but no free rides or passes. No paying a slight penalty and then instant citizenship. If they voted illegally in any of our elections- then instant deportation never to return. Not buying the whole "I thought I was a US citizen garbage."

No amnesty ever again. We can have those that want to work towards citizenship and follow the law; Green Card holders who follow the law; Special Visa holders who follow the law; and Work VISA holders who follow the law. Any that violate the law are deported never to return.

Citizenships is not a right; it is a privilege. Reagan never should have agreed to a general amnesty no matter what the Democrats promised. His mistake must never be repeated again.

never to return.

I agree with most of what you said but they will just ignore the never to return part. Whole I do agree they should never return, they do, time and time again. They are willing to break the law to come here in the first place and they have no problem breaking it again and again to come back. Something needs to be done that actually makes them afraid to return.

I also do not have a problem with using deadly force to keep those trying to enter this country illegally. After all they are invading the country and that's what you do to invaders. You shoot them.

They need to be formally charged, convicted, and criminally documented- so that if they are caught at the border they are expunged immediately. Or if they try to apply for a cell phone, temporary driver's license, rental agreement, or anything else they are immediately tracked down and expunged.

The border needs to be secured first. W/O that anything else tried will be worthless.

It all starts with removing Democrats from office at midterms. Then retaking the White House in 2024. Democrats have proven repeatedly they have no interest in securing the border or stopping illegal immigration.

Many of them have already had their day in court. They were told to leave the country and choose to ignore those official court orders. Others never bothered to show up for court at all.

These laws apply to dreamers as well.

There are Dreamers who are now 40-years-old. Educated pre-K through 12th grade and even college and post-grad on US taxpayers' money. Healthcare, housing, food? Paid for. Yet, they couldn't amass enough money for a green card or US citizenship in decades?

My ancestors were young when they legally emigrated to the US in the early 20th century. They never asked for, or received, a dime from the government - even during the Great Depression. They worked hard, learned English, assimilated, earned Green Cards in less than 5 years and became US citizens in less than 10 years.

If you listen to most dreamers they thought they were US citizens. I said I don't buy it. I mean it. They have ignored the fact they are here illegally.

Granting them automatic citizenship just encourages the next batch of dreamers to stay illegally fully expecting full citizenship is their reward at the end.

I would put them all on a criminal watch list. The second they tried to get any type of contract it would alert the authorities to come arrest them; with automatic expulsion to follow. They either already had their day in court; or forfeited that right.

Time to use corporate, state, and local information and technology to our advantage for a change on the illegal immigration war.

We won't catch all of them that way; but they will get a decent chunk of them. Maybe enough to send a message to the rest to get the hell out before they are caught; if they ever want to have a chance of remaining in this country legally.

We have to try something at this point. As much as shooting all of them sounds great, it would make us no better than Russia, China, North Korea, or Iran.

I don't buy it either, especially since they were educated in the US with the same government/civics information we had.

We can start picking them up and deporting them and confiscate any money and property they have.  If they have any family here they can take them with them.  We also fine their employers large quantities of money for hiring them in the first place  When the others find out what's happening many will self deport

Sure - when they show for their hearings.

But, most illegal aliens aren't even given an NTA and if they do get one, over 75% never come to court.

July 16, 2021

After a record surge of illegal crossings this year, many migrants are now being   released   without court dates, otherwise known as a Notice to Appear (NTA). Usually, asylum seekers and other categories of migrants who were found to be in the country illegally are issued an NTA before being released from custody. If the alien does not appear in court, a judge issues an in-absentia order of removal, which means they can be quickly deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) if encountered.

In its place, under the Biden administration’s guidance, thousands of illegal aliens are being released without NTAs and given instruction to report to an ICE office within 60 days to collect an NTA. Of course, very few migrants are complying. Instead, thousands are defying their first orders and becoming fugitives. As a result, the   no-show rate   is more than 75 percent.
