Gov. Glenn Youngkin deploys 100 Virginia National Guard troops to assist Texas border response | Just The News
By: Madeleine Hubbard (Just The News)
Gov. Glenn Youngkin on Wednesday announced the deployment of 100 Virginia National Guard soldiers and 21 supporting personnel in compliance with a request from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for military support to respond to the border crisis.
"The ongoing border crisis facing our nation has turned every state into a border state," Youngkin, a Republican, said. "As leadership solutions at the federal level fall short, states are answering the call to secure our southern border, reduce the flow of fentanyl, combat human trafficking and address the humanitarian crisis."
The service members, who will be deployed to Texas for 30 days, are supporting Abbott's Operation Lone Star with the goal of securing the border and reducing the flow of the deadly opioid fentanyl into the U.S.
Virginia is the latest GOP-run state to send personnel to the border following similar deployments in recent weeks from Tennessee, Nebraska, Mississippi and Florida.
Another state stepping up to do what the Biden Administration has failed to do.
It is a shame and a national disgrace that we have such incompetence emanating from our WH.

The mouth breathers that keep telling us "Biden is doing just fine" don't help either. Although I do think they are all on the same mental acuity level of -1
No, the person who said that doesn't have blinders on.
Such self-examination! Admirable....
I invite you to try it asap!
Grandstanding
They're just stepping in where the Biden administration failed the people of this country.
Something tells me if it was your backyard, you'd be singing a lot different tune.........
More than likely act just like every other liberal. "We welcome "migrants"". Then when they arrive they bitch, whine and cry then ship then off to be somebody else's problem. You know, like Martha's Vineyard, Chicago, NYC and Washington D.C.
It IS my backyard. I've never noticed anything special. It seems that border control is doing its job.
Gee... you're a mind-reader. Not.
Bob doesn't notice it.
There's nothing to notice.
Out of sight/ out of mind.

I guess you don't listen to Doug Nichols very much do you? He seems to say otherwise.
Who's he, and what is his competence.
deletion of one "L" in the name aside. THE MAYOR OF YUMA!!
He is the mayor of Yuma. That place you say you live in!
To be precise, I don't live in the municipality, but in the homonym county.
He has been on the news across the country. I know folks in Indiana and other states that have heard of him. I guess you do not live as close to the border as you have given people the impression you do.
... or rather there aren't significantly more immigrants...
it isn't grandstanding, it is people trying to stem the flood of immigrants, most notably, illegal aliens entering.
Doing the dirty jobs that most North Americans refuse to do.
that is one of the weakest excuses I have ever heard in defense of illegal aliens.
So you break your back picking a lot of melons year after year?
Most large scale farmers would not survive without migrant pickers.
The border goes both ways and many migrants only stay seasonally.
It's the much longer border with Canada that really worries me.
The Canucks come to stay and take our year round jobs!
I could have been a star ship captain were it not for Shatner!
Nope, and I bet you don't either. There is no point to your question.
There are programs to come here and work seasonally AND LEGALLY.
I specifically mention illegal aliens, can you tell the difference between someone here legally and someone who is not?
I'm sorry, I don't go along with the progressive way of open borders or weak border protection.
I have zero problems with legal immigration.
I do take offense at illegal immigration and the anti-American people cheering for it.
The idiots who whine about immigrants should come to Yuma and see what "American" agriculture really is.
How many millions of illegal migrants do they need?
Correction: It is not immigrants. It is Illegal migrants.
If they haven't immigrated, what's your problem?
My bitch is the 40-60 million illegal migrants living here.
Yet the real number is about 11.5 million!
What for? I already live in Douglas six blocks from the border fence on the opposite side of the state. I live in a large valley called The Sulphur Springs Valley with plenty of agriculture and ranching. And I already lived in Yuma for seven years previously.
That was an old number updated 6 years ago.
Back then it was 22 million
No Vic, the best estimates are eleven to twelve million...
Those estimates are decades old. I gave you the facts from 6 years ago.
Correction - per 8 U.S.C., they are "Illegal Aliens".
Fed law guys - not "nice speak to not hurt feelings".
I'll gladly go with Illegal Aliens. BTW we have one member here who says he lives near the border but hasn't seen them.
6 years ago and imagine what it is now........especially with the escalation of the last two years of basically open gates.
You mean Native Americans, of course. They never went through immigration.
Wha?
You don't see anything from where you are?
So... you've personally witnessed the hordes of savages pouring across the border....
/s
immigrants
Are you trying to replace somebody?
Evidently you believe that we are all citizens of the world.
It has become painfully obvious that you haven't since you don't even know the name of your own mayor.

There are a few easy reads.
Actually, yes I have witnessed hordes of people. I don't call them savages. The wall in Cochise County is unfinished here courtesy of Joe Biden on day one of his fiasco, err administration! You say you don't see it, are you still in France?
Parts of this thread have been cleaned up for no value comments. Please stop. Only warning.
Do you have anything of substance to say?

McMaster orders South Carolina troops to southern border
And South Carolina joins Virginia, Tennessee, Nebraska, Mississippi and Florida. All because of the incompetency of Biden

Shouldn't this be a META comment?
I see honesty and stating fact is out.
