Joe Biden's recent assertion that Donald Trump is to blame for the lack of border security has sparked intense criticism from conservatives across social media.

The remarks came during Biden's address urging bipartisan support for the Emergency National Security Supplemental Act, a border bill facing resistance from GOP lawmakers.

Biden's statement ignited a firestorm of backlash, with notable figures such as Elon Musk and Sen. Eric Schmitt accusing him of falsehoods and attempting to manipulate public perception. Musk labeled the assertion as gaslighting, echoing sentiments shared by many others.

During negotiations, Trump himself used his platform on Truth Social to rally against the bill, insisting on comprehensive measures to stem what he called an "invasion" of migrants.

Biden seized upon opposition to the bill, attributing border chaos to Trump and his allies, despite his administration presiding over record-breaking southern border crossings.

Critics swiftly challenged Biden's narrative, citing statistics from his own term to refute his claims. Conservative voices like the End Wokeness account highlighted escalating border encounters under Biden's watch, contrasting sharply with the former president's tenure.

"The only reason the border is not secure is Donald Trump," Biden claimed, but data speaks otherwise. "Biden: 'The only reason the border is not secure is Donald Trump.' Illegal border encounters: 2023: 2,476,000, 2022: 2,379,000, 2021: 1,735,000, 2020: 400,000," tweeted the "End Wokeness" account.

Elon Musk joined the fray, torching Biden with a simple response: "You are being gaslit."

The backlash extended beyond mere social media commentary, with prominent conservative figures like Milwaukee talk radio host Jay Weber and influencers like Chicks On The Right lambasting Biden for what they perceived as dishonesty and attempted manipulation.

"Every day between now and November, the American people are going to know that Biden is gaslighting them because they remember how much more secure the border was under Trump. And they know Biden undid the very Trump EOs that MADE it more secure. But nice try, gramps," tweeted Chicks On The Right.

The only reason the border isn't secure is because the first day you were in office you reversed every Trump policy that was working.
Give me a break.
There is a reason it has been called the #BidenBorderCrisis! https://t.co/x14h2RVCT8

Sen. Eric Schmitt emphasized the reversal of Trump-era policies as a key factor contributing to the current border situation, rejecting Biden's attempt to shift blame.

"The only reason the border isn't secure is because the first day you were in office you reversed every Trump policy that was working. Give me a break. There is a reason it has been called the #BidenBorderCrisis!" he tweeted.

Even official GOP accounts weighed in, with the House Judiciary GOP branding Biden as having "lost it" and commentators like Carmine Sabia asserting that Americans wouldn't buy into the notion that Trump is solely responsible for border issues, especially given Biden's tenure in office.

As well as this....................

Of course they will, it's campaign fodder for them.  Truth doesn't matter when it comes to politics after all as the sheep will continue to blindly follow along.

Yesterday they said there was no problem on the southern border. Today they say there is and its Trump's fault.

A bunch of pathetic hogwash from Biden. My neck of the AZ border did not have near the problems they have now under Biden.

It's funny, since Texas put up that razor wire at the park near Eagle Pass, crossings there have dropped to just about zero.

That's how easy it is.

The current governor of AZ Katie Hobbs caved into Biden's insistence on removing the storage containers on the border that were working on reducing crossings in some areas. Hobbs and Biden lost a lot of votes among the rural voters on the border on that fiasco.

I think Hobbs did that for show. BTW she shouldn't be in control of elections for Governor.

 "You are being gaslit."

That is what Biden does. Years of claiming the "border was secure" as record breaking amounts of illegal aliens crossed the border. He has no shame and isn't likely to find any in his dotage.

Blaming Trump when he's done everything possible to ensure the border remains open is just par for the course.
