Anti-Israel protesters armed with flares marched toward NYPD headquarters late Monday after the number of students arrested at NYU reportedly rose to over 150.

Videos of Monday night's protests show demonstrators holding bright flares over their heads while marching toward One Police Plaza while others waved flags, banged drums and chanted, "Gaza."

Other clips show NYPD officers in riot gear monitoring protesters who chant, "We will free Palestine, within our lifetime."

By late Monday, more than 150 protesters had been arrested as the NYU camp was broken up, sources told PIX 11.

Sources told The Post that when the tally hit 134, the mass-arrest processing system went down, slowing the processing of all those detained.

The NYPD could not confirm that number early Tuesday.

A spokesperson for NYU told PIX 11 that "disorderly, disruptive and antagonizing" protesters packed Gould Plaza, prompting the university to send the NYPD a written request for officers to intervene.

Protesters were demanding NYU divest from weapons manufacturers and end the school's relationship with Tel Aviv University.

Some staff at the downtown university were also seen joining the rally.

Videos shared online allegedly show dozens of NYU faculty members linking arms to try to prevent the NYPD from moving in on the students' encampment.

Monday's scenes at NYU echoed a wave of protests across the city and nation, with college campuses becoming hotbeds of antisemitic protests since Hamas terrorists launched their sneak attack on Israel Oct. 7 and the Jewish state's ongoing military response.

Over 100 have also been arrested at Columbia University, where classes were moved online Monday over safety fears for students on the Manhattan campus.

On Sunday, a prominent rabbi at the school urged Columbia and Barnard students to stay home — and university officials told them they could take classes online.

Their protests also followed last week's congressional hearing with Columbia president Minouche Shafik, who spoke about the university's response to antisemitism.

Dozens were also arrested at Yale Monday and other campsites have been pitched on campus quads from Michigan to Massachusetts.

And just like the last riot the left carried out, it's based off false information and ignorance.

This is todays progressives, liberals, left wingers, mostly Democrats, a vast majority of them apparently, who applaud and support this anti-Israel hatred. It seemingly extends up to and into the Biden administration.

This is my opinion only, and I may be wrong, but probably not. I have hopefully used enough modifiers to make sure that my comment is not taken to be indicative of ALL progressives, etc.

I cannot believe the number of ignorant student sheep who are being blindly led and bamboozled by these hard-core Muslim professors and agitators.

Incredible how this is playing out.

If this were any other group being harrassed (outside, of course, generic whites/christians) to the point a university can't hold in person classes because a minority was being harassed because of their ethnicity/religion, it would be a national crisis.  Or if the exact same dynamics were taking place at an SEC school. It would be Charlottesville on steroids.  Non stop coverage/gnashing of the teeth.

But because the harassers are progressives and the family/friends of those in power and they are harassing Jewish students at elite approved  progressive universities,  it's a side story.

What are they exactly hoping to accomplish?

Do they think threatening Jewish Americans in the US will sway Israel in any way shape or form? Or gain the Palestinians they claim to want to help any sympathy from the US public?

If they really want to help start food, clothing, and medical supply drives. Do the leg work and organizing to get the items not only collected, but warehoused, shipped, and delivered into Gaza and the West Bank. Yes, the West Bank still exists- and needs aid nearly as badly.

Start groups to petition the Congress critters, and try to get the ear of the State Department and the White House.

Boycott businesses and institutions that do business with Israel. Yes, that is completely legal and allowable. Instead of going to Universities that they know do business and hold assets in Israel start a real boycott. If admissions fall the Universities will get the message and end the practice. Forming tent cities, threatening fellow students, and burning flags on campus does nothing but make the administrators look like victims (which is hard to do with how much campus administrations have coddled and protected these "protests").

But none of these things are easy; or will get them their 15 seconds of fame on social media or in the news.

"We will free Palestine, within our lifetime."

I can't be the only one that noticed NONE of these bottom feeders are willing to go to Gaza and fight for them.

Good point, I was a sophomore in college when Egypt, and Syrian forces launched a surprise attack on Israel on Yom Kippur, the Jewish holiday.  I don't remember how many, but multiple Jewish students, including a friend of mine, immediately left school to travel to help defend Israel.
