Don't laugh: Biden thinks he's been tough on the border
President Joe Biden is now trying to sell to voters the idea that he is actually tough on illegal immigration. Don't laugh, he really means it.
Biden aides and officials leaked to Politico that Biden is doing an 'I told you so' routine behind closed doors addressed to his left wing on border security and crime. According to Politico, "The White House is banking on the idea that voters will reward them for public efforts to crack down on immigration and boost spending on law enforcement" and Biden "sought to stake out a middle ground" on immigration.
Seriously, don't laugh.
Voters see through this political spin. Put aside crime for a second, given that it is an issue Biden has little to do with other than being the leader of the party that keeps electing soft-on-crime district attorneys that run cities into the ground before being replaced, as the one in Portland, Oregon, was. We have seen what Biden's idea of a "middle ground" on immigration has been, which is Biden immediately ceasing effective border policies upon taking office, leading to a surge in illegal immigration, and then trying to pawn the matter off to Congress claiming he can't do anything about it, only to turn around and start pushing executive orders when the political pressure gets too great.
Q: Biden has power to take executive action on border security, so why doesn't he?
JEAN-PIERRE: "Why should he have to do it unilaterally?"
Q: "He took unilateral action before to undo [President Trump's border security]!"

That is why Biden's approval rating on immigration has dropped from an already weak 41% in August 2021 to a measly 28% in February of this year. His disapproval rating on immigration is 67%. Border encounters under Biden hit a record high in December 2023, and there have been 10 different months with over 200,000 border encounters, a mark that the U.S. hadn't hit once since March 2000.
No one is buying what Biden is selling here, nor should they. The only reason Biden could claim he has found a "middle ground" on immigration is because his far-left base believes Border Patrol agents are racists and that the border shouldn't exist at all. The border crisis falls entirely on Biden and his pandering to that far-left base, and no amount of delusional spin is going to change that perception, because that perception is reality.

The whole debate in a nutshell. The guy has spent three years exercising every power in his discretion to open the border and now he's going to blame Republicans for his work.
Who could be stupid enough to fall for that?
I think if I thought about.o think I could come up with about a dozen or so right here on NTZ.
"Who could be stupid enough to fall for that?"
Simple answer is anybody that voted for Biden and lives nowhere on or anywhere near our Southern borders and believes he can do no wrong while accepting everything the leftist liberal dominated MSM spoon feeds to them. I live six blocks from the AZ/Mexico border and have only seen things get drastically worse in the last 3+ years. People really need to open their eyes and wake the Hell up!
