My 1998 Brochure to Teenage Smokers (page 3)
Would you rather shop with $20 or $100?
Todays teens are selective and many choose not to date smokers. Some avoid smokers on the advice of their parents. Non-smokers are free to browse through the dating scene with less credit denial than smokers.
Those who do accept are often discouraged by the smell of smoke on clothes or breath and are reluctant to kiss or sit close. This creates an outcome of rejection that is avoidable. Teens often feel in competition with the smoker's commitment to go outside and puff. Most feel entitled to flirt and act single when left alone. While this does not largely impact casual dating, it creates suspicion, mistrust, and misunderstanding between couples going steady.
