Once Again The GOP Proves That The Government Owns Your Children

ONCE AGAIN THE GOP PROVES THAT THE GOVERNMENT OWNS YOUR CHILDREN:

My daughter and her husband are trying to get their daughter back from his mother, who is using every dirty trick in the book to keep and raise her for her own. We have two young newlyweds, trying to make a start in life, after being encouraged by her and the dhs office Not to be together. They get

sick without each other. I know, I have witnessed it, and taken my daughter to the hospital several times. They took the child away on two different accusations that two different doctors confirmed were untrue, and are now basing it on the fact they have no place of their own, or jobs, when we are able to provide a safe and stable home environment for them until they do get on their feet, as well as transportation to and from their appointments. They initially tried to take her son , who lives in Wisconsin with his father . Things in the reported statement were taken out of context by the caseworker, a registered Republican, who has been revealed in other court statements and dates as lying and doctoring the reports in order to make her case, and lying to her supervisor, who hasnt gotten the whole story. Now they want to make my daughter and her husband undergo mental evaluations to make sure they are capable of raising the baby, are making them take 180 mile trips just so they can see her once a week for an hour. They didnt find out until last week that she had to have surgery due to health problems, but managed to find a way down and back to Iowa City. Dhs has been telling their lawyers that they have been keeping them informed, when they havent been, and its only because they have been constantly calling the caseworker that they have found anything out at all.

Meanwhile, they discovered that the Paternal grandmother has been sleeping through the sleep apnea monitor that the baby wears, missed the check-in time for the scheduled surgery by two hours, and its only because my son-in-law kept texting them that she made it there at all. This coming from a woman that admitted to her son that as soon as the court session was over, she intended to go back to drugs, and intends to remarry her ex-husband, who at last known, she divorced because he did cocaine without her. At least thats what was told to us. She has no permanent residence, is always mooching off of friends and relatives for a place to stay, and yet the dhs thinks shed be a better custodian?

My daughter, her husband, and myself have been following the guidelines, we are even taking parenting courses together as a family, so we all know how to deal with things better. I am even working on becoming a foster parent, am a certified in home health provider, and they want the other grandmother to have custody? Whats wrong with this picture? Updates will follow as situation progresses.

Excuse me I thought the court decided that grand parents only had rights of visitation - NOTHING MORE! I thought that was decided in 1998 or 99 - I worked for a lawyer at that time that was waiting for the ruling (from the Supreme Court), I'm sorry I do not have the case name but you can do a search on FindLaw under the criteria of grandparanets rights! I'm sorry to hear that this is going on, yet I hope that you can find the case I refer to!

On the positive side, all the lawyers, including Kira's think she belongs with her parents, who live with us at the moment, and are working to get it done. Apparently the dhs workers and the paternal grandmother haven't been keeping Kira's Guardian ad Litum/ lawyer up-to-date on things, which they are supposed to be doing, and the parents have been, as I have suggested to them. There is a long story involved with this, and it includes harassment, although we wouldn't be able to prove it, as it is done through the dhs on a semi-legal basis. My daughter had to send her oldest to live with his dad in Wisconsin so he wouldn't be dragged into it. He is 6. This woman wants to take all that she loves away from her just because her son chose to marry my daughter, and she doesn't like my daughter.
