Otis; Meet you on the Rainbow Bridge;

Some of you may remember how I used to write about our dogs Milo and Otis in my troll-tales. Otis passed over the rainbow bridge a couple of weeks before Christmas, but he fought it all the way. I can still see his little cow-puppy body zooming around the room sometimes, his little black tail with the white tip wagging to beat the band. He had a little check mark in the front center of his head that stretched to the upper part of his head, a t-bone black steak pattern on his side, and a little heart shape on his right flank. He was a very funny little dog with a great sense of humor, and sharp as a tack. He used to dance on his hind legs for special treats, loved clam chowder on the very rare occasions they got it. Milo still misses him as well, as well does his big-little brother Bowser, who will be 2 this year. Otis had been having seizures for awhile now, and I had been paying for his medicine, phenobarbital. Sometimes I swear I can hear the tinkle of his collar as he passes thru. Having to take him to his Vets, and hope they could help him, and having to leave him overnight was the hardest thing I had to do. I got a call the next day saying he had passed away. I had taken him in his huge kennel, with one of my bathrobes that I often wore, so he wouldn't feel as scared, but I still know he was. I still ache for my little man. He was the greatest little dog that ever lived, and he gave us 4 and a half great years! Good bye sweet Otis, we'll never forget you or stop loving you! Your paw prints will be forever in our hearts!46.gif 65_blogs.jpg?width=750 66_blogs.jpg?width=750 67_blogs.jpg?width=750 68_blogs.jpg?width=750

That made me cry! I had to lean over and rub the belly of Sir Phugley Fartsalot. He's a little older than your Otis. I can tell it won't be long before he leaves me. I hope he remembers that he had a good life here with me. And I will let him pick out the next dog that Iget from the shelter. He has been so good to me, except when he farts in my face!

Another little one will find you when you're ready, one that needs the kind of love and kindness that you have to offer.
