Groups see new openings for digging up dirt on Trump | TheHill
Public interest groups determined to stay focused on the Trump administration say they have new openings for unearthing information now that the past government's political appointees have departed.

Beyond digging into the past, public interest groups are also putting their efforts behind codifying some of those norms into rules while shoring up other democracy measures, such as protections for whistleblowers and ensuring that presidential nominees must release their tax returns.

Many are coalescing behind a bill from Rep. Adam Schiff. Groups see new openings for digging up dirt on Trump administration with the Protect Our Democracy Act, which is set to be reintroduced in the coming weeks. It would strengthen Congress's subpoena power, bolster protections of inspectors general and increase penalties for those that violate the Hatch Act.

Gilbert said the idea is to focus on "norms that people didn't realize were only norms until Trump broke them."

"Compliance with subpoenas by the executive branch was something we took for granted would happen even if it took a while. The other stonewalling we saw during the Trump administration was completely unprecedented. It shows we didn't have enough on the books to protect that congressional prerogative," she said. "This is more narrowly thinking about where a president that is unscrupulous can abuse the system."

with cross cultural immersion therapy. win/win

must say, you caught me unprepared with that one, very nicely done. How it has taken months for these thoughts to get out, is perplexing. HOW this has NOT BEEN DISCUSSED MUCH since Trump initiated the VIOLATION of our damn NATION back when he was a candidate, also is just ridiculous. We FIRST need NEVER have such a FCKN LYING POS elected EVER AGAIN, and just in case, our LAWS need to be WRITTEN EXPLICITLY for a SCUMBAG LIKE TRUMP ! How can this be argued with after what we've witnessed...? Please, i wish to partake in "cross cultural immersion therapy" !

The Trump admin awarded a firm $1.3 billion to make Covid vaccine syringes. Where are the syringes?

"WASHINGTON — A year after a Connecticut company was awarded almost $1.3 billion in federal loans and contracts to supply an essential syringe  for the Covid-19 vaccine rollout, no syringes have been made. The syringe hasn't received even the first of a series of approvals it needs from the federal government before it can be manufactured, and a factory promising 650 jobs remains unbuilt."

Where is the $1.3 billion?

No one honest has ever looked at Donald Trump's business dealings and came to the conclusion that he is legit.

the idea is to focus on "norms that people didn't realize were only norms until Trump broke them."

Probably a good idea. Like redoing your home security system after a break in.

What I wonder is what is trump planning for the future. Considering trump has been taken down from the most powerful position on earth that he worked for so long to achieve I don't think he's done.

Somehow I just cant see trump being satisfied unless HE is more  "Important" than just another has been president.

I look for a trump 2.0 relaunch soon, a normal way or not.

One way or another I doubt trump is done with America or our power.
