Caitlyn Jenner Is Running for Governor Because Her Private-Jet-Flying Friends Are Sick of the Homeless | Vanity Fair
Just the other day a pal with an airplane hangar across from hers said, "I'm moving to Sedona, Arizona. I can't take it anymore. I can't walk down the streets and see the homeless."

Earlier this week Caitlyn Jenner unveiled her first campaign ad, in which she said she's running to replace Gavin Newsom as governor because California used to be the place of the American dream, but "career politicians and their policies have destroyed that dream." Obviously the American dream means different things to different people, and on Wednesday, in a prime-time interview with Fox News's Sean Hannity, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star explained that for her and her wealthy friends, it means being able to get in their private planes and fly around the state without having to see the filthy homeless.

Speaking to Hannity from, yes, her private airplane hangar in Malibu, Jenner said her friend who has his own hangar across from hers is so sick of all these poor people that he's packing his belongings (private jets, etc.) and moving to Arizona.

Claiming that she doesn't "want to leave" California, Jenner added, "Either I stay and fight, or I get out of here."

Elsewhere in the interview, the former decathlete/reality-TV star questioned the need to build a high-speed rail connecting Los Angeles and San Francisco, as one can just as easily fly between the two cities:

As my colleague Chris Smith wrote on Wednesday—prior to Jenner explaining she has to run because her rich friends can't stand the sight of the unhoused—the ex-Olympian's entry into the recall race is expected to "do nothing but help Newsom survive," as her "first-time run for office will suck up media attention that might otherwise be focused on Newsom's record," and the enlisting of Trump advisers strengthens the Newsom team's claim that "the recall effort is a hard-right ploy to steal an office California Republicans can't win in a conventional election."

Earlier this week Jenner told a reporter that she opposes transgender girls being allowed to participate in girls sports, claiming it was an issue of fairness. "That's why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls sports in school," she said. "It just isn't fair. And we have to protect girls sports in our schools." In response, Equality California, an LGBTQ advocacy organization, wrote on Twitter: "Here are the facts: @Caitlyn_Jenner is willing to sacrifice the health & well-being of #trans kids to win votes. @GavinNewsom is not. It's that simple."

How dare those poor people be a blight to my community...

There is a winning ticket for ya.

I saw Caitlin Jenner interviewed the other day.  She sounded exactly like Bruce Jenner.

I'm glad I dont live in California because I'm not sure I could take seriously a governor who looks like a woman (sort of) but talks like a dude.

I bet you would if she was a progressive.

Always cracks me up seeing people using the internet to complain about progressives.

In any case. Jenner will never win for two reasons:

1) Dems won't vote for her because she is a conservative republican, and;

2) Repubs won't vote for her because she used to be a dude.

Republican mindset = Repubs won't vote for him because he dresses like a chick.

Yes, except I've heard Trump likes the men he plays golf with in high heels.

I don't think Jenner wants to win or thinks it's possible, it's more about staying in the spotlight.

I'm getting confused by the conservatives like Hannity. Isn't he one of those that there are only 2 sexes and that changing your gender is insane? So how can he stand to interview and actually support Jenner?

Can other people hear them too?

Of course.  It's the same people that say Trump looks like Elvis.

Correct. But then Hannity has no problems flip flopping and being a hypocrite with no shame at all.

"She's" absolutely right.

The homeless problem is epidemic in many liberal run cities.

Please cite the instances of this happening.

Actually, Kaitlin has a valid point. I am pissed about the homelessness (in my area). It's blight for real. And when the wind blows (strongly) trash is nearly everywhere. I have never considered it to be a state issue though.

I recently made up my mind that our (repeat) mayor has to go this time, because apparently he can't fix this homeless problem. Of course, the pandemic made it that much worse. But it was there already. We have people who look like 'wraiths' and who have been trolling our days and nights for several years-same faces. Half of them walking around with their clothes falling off them, dumping out trash containers, living under overpasses, and doing extra-ordinary begging at 'stops.'

Mine you I care for these people. I even try to help without becoming part of (their) problem. But, it is a tragic problem that begs for solution.

Though I want to understand and empathize with trans-girls and trans-women in sports, I would be lying to myself if I did not say that I see one glaring problem:

1. Physically naturally born young girls and women are child-bearers. Thus, no matter how athletic these girls and woman perform - she is ever heedful of her reproductive-capabilities and its importance as an attractant  to a desirable and lifelong mate.

Trans-women in sports do not have this glaring concern when they are carrying out sports activities. Thus, these women are freerer (even mentally too) to take more 'risk,' if it is a risk at all, when performing. It is worthy of  noting, nevertheless.
