A bill approved by the Florida House and sent to Governor Ron DeSantis Wednesday could allow some businesses to sue local governments if they believe a city ordinance caused them to lose at least 15 percent of their profits.
Senate Bill 620, named the Local Business Protection Act, would let businesses that have been established for at least three years to challenge local ordinances, which critics have said could allow businesses that actually harm their community to challenge an ordinance that is meant to stop their behavior, according to The Tampa Bay Times.
This is a developing story that will be updated as more information becomes available.
WTF. So they want to let a business be able to determine policy...

I could see some of this. Our town is widening a highway down thru a business district. It's a mess. I don't do much business down that way but now I won't until the construction is done....maybe
Same here in Ridgeland by Jackson. They have been working on and widening highway 49 going on four years. A total mess.
Is that US Hwy 49? Isn't that the future Interstate 49?
Yep. It snakes through Arkansas I believe. Starts down here in Gulfport.
You can depend on DeSantis to create another cluster fuck.
If the business wins who does DeSantis think is going to pay. The citizens you dumb ass.
no worries, rwnj morons are usually too stupid to write laws that are constitutional...
