A high-ranking Russian defense official mysteriously died after falling 16 stories from the window of an apartment building.
Marina Yankina's body was found on the pavement outside the St. Petersburg building after she plummeted to her death, The Independent reported on Friday.
The senior official was reportedly a finance director of the Western Military District, one of the five geographical battalions which comprise Russia's army.
Yankina reportedly played a crucial role in increasing funding efforts for Russia's invasion in Ukraine.
The Western Military District confirmed to The Independent that one of its employees had died, but refused to comment further.
It is not clear whether Yankina lived in the building.
Yankina is the second senior Russian military official to die this week in a supposed suicide.
Major General Vladimir Makarov, who held a role at the Main Directorate for Combating Extremism, reportedly shot himself on Monday, a month after being relieved of his post by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

in colorado we have watch for falling rocks signs along the roads in the mountains. sounds like russia needs to post watch for falling russians on the outside of any building over 4 stories.
You even have them on the interstates. I've seen them on I-70 going up to Black Hawk
the continuous freeze/thaw cycles of snow and ice naturally cleave the rock, and when spring comes, it means rocks rolling down the slopes and rocks falling everywhere. a mega boulder took out both west bound lanes of I-70 in glenwood canyon last year.
Just another "natural causes" death of a Russian oligarch or senior official from a high rise building...

After falling 16 stories, there's nothing really mysterious about how she died (as long as you carefully avoid looking for the bullet hole in the back of her head).
help her wash down a few fentanyl tablets and then toss her out the window before she starts foaming...

I don't know about that. Falling 16 floors and dying sound a whole lot quicker and less painful than death by radiation poisoning.
