At his first rally since Biden endorsed VP Harris, Trump ran through his usual falsehoods, while baselessly accusing Harris of committing crimes.

In his first rally since Biden endorsed the VP, Trump referenced his own criminal record and brought up Harris' background as a courtroom prosecutor.

During his first rally since President Joe Biden exited the 2024 presidential race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, Donald Trump ran through his usual list of falsehoods, while baselessly accusing Harris of committing crimes. The event in Charlotte, North Carolina was also one of Trump's first rallies since the assassination attempt against him in Butler, Pennsylvania, and one of the first with his new running mate, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance.

"Kamala's deadly destruction of America's borders is completely and totally disqualifying. She shouldn't be allowed to run for president," lamented Trump, before reiterating his fear-mongering rhetoric over undocumented immigrants. "What she's done, she's committing crimes. … [If] Harris stays in charge every week [it] will bring a never-ending stream of illegal alien rapists, bloodthirsty killers, and child predators to go after our sons and our daughters."

Elsewhere, Trump referenced his own indictments and brought up Harris' background as a courtroom prosecutor before becoming a senator. "She's one of the worst prosecutors in history," he lamented. "'I'm the prosecutor and he is the convicted felon' — that's their campaign. I don't think people are going to buy it."

Later, when discussing Venezuelan immigrants in the U.S. and in a moment of irony, Trump said: "You're not going to teach a criminal not to be a criminal, it's just not going to happen."

Following Biden's historic decision to step aside, Harris received more than $81 million in donations within the first 24 hours of her campaign. The vice president has since garnered a wave of endorsements from members of the Democratic Party. In a joint statement, Bill and Hillary Clinton wrote: "We are honored to join the President in endorsing Vice President Harris and will do whatever we can to support her."

Harris has also gained the support from several leaders in Hollywood and the music industry including Jamie Lee Curtis, Mark Hamill, Shonda Rhimes, Charli XCX, Barbra Streisand, Kerry Washington, and more. Earlier this week, Beyonce's reps reportedly gave Harris permission to use her song during the revolution call "Freedom" during her presidential campaign, which the vice president walked out to during her first public appearances since Biden's endorsement.

On Monday, Harris earned support from enough Democratic delegates to become the likely party nominee for president. "This election will present a clear choice between two different visions," Harris said in a statement at the time. "Donald Trump wants to take our country back to a time before many of us had full freedoms and equal rights. I believe in a future that strengthens our democracy, protects reproductive freedom, and ensures every person has the opportunity to not just get by but to get ahead."

She added: "I fully intend to unite our party, unite our nation, and defeat Donald Trump in November."

Trump's team, meanwhile, has urged the former president to not underestimate his new opponent. "When Joe Biden was in the race, we were headed for a Trump landslide," a source, who recently discussed the matter with Trump, told Rolling Stone . "Now that it's Kamala's turn, there are some scenarios that make me nervous."

Riigghht. But if he weren’t allowed to run for president because he either engaged in insurrection, or has been convicted of actual crimes in court, it’s “election interference.”

'I'm the prosecutor and he is the convicted felon' — that's their campaign. I don't think people are going to buy it."

Ok, but both of those things are objectively true, so . . .

Trump said: "You're not going to teach a criminal not to be a criminal, it's just not going to happen."

OMG. Does the absurdity of this - the cognitive dissonance of it - the irony - the total lack of self awareness - does any of this register in the minds of his audience? Geezus!

I can't wait for trumps supporters to defend that one. Holy shit.

'Once a criminal, always a criminal', finally trump says something I agree with.

You know, courts kind of treat them that way. Normally, you can’t attack a witness’s credibility by attacking their character. But you are allowed to tell a jury that a convicted felon - particularly one convicted of fraud - is inherently untrustworthy. You can assume they are lying.

I know Kamala has to know this, and I’m really hoping she brings it up. Over, and over and over again.

the convicted felon and insurrectionist is already saying how much he's looking forward to "several debates" with VP harris and how easy it will be to defeat her. which means in magaspeak that he's scared shitless and won't be debating her at any time before 11/5. he's a gutless coward...
