The bill would ban Rep.-elect Sarah McBride and other House employees from accessing single-sex facilities that correspond to their gender identity.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) introduced a bill on Monday that would prohibit transgender members of Congress and other government employees from using Capitol Hill facilities that match their gender identity.

The resolution arrives just over a week after Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-Del.) became the first openly transgender person to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

When speaking to reporters, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Mace doubled down on the House resolution. "He's a man, a biological male," said Greene, referring to McBride. "So he is not allowed to use our women's restrooms, our women's gym, our locker rooms and our spaces that are that are specified for women."

"Men need to, they need to respect our spaces, and that's what this election was all about," continued Greene. "The new member of Congress that was voted in the Congress on behalf of his district in Delaware needs to respect my space, my privacy, and other women's space and privacy, because he is not a woman."

Mace accused the "radical left" of wanting "to erase women and women's rights." The South Carolina congresswoman said she would be "standing in his or her way, putting a stop to this insanity and this nonsense." Mace added, "She doesn't get a say. This is about real women and women's rights."

While Greene framed her stance as in support of women's rights, the congresswoman has backed the Life at Conception Act — effectively a total ban on abortion that would put millions of women and girls at risk. Mace has stated the the issue of abortion should be decided by the states, not the federal government.

"This is a blatant attempt from far right-wing extremists to distract from the fact that they have no real solutions to what Americans are facing," McBride said in a statement. "We should be focused on bringing down the cost of housing, health care and child care, not manufacturing culture wars."

Slamming the measure, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said, "This is not just bigotry, this is just plain bullying."

According to Axios, Republican leadership appeared to consider the resolution. "We're going to talk about that," said House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.). "We're working on the issue."

Republicans literally want the manliest bearded trans men in the public bathrooms with their little girls.  If you think being trans is a mental illness, then what would you call a mentality that seeks to place bearded humans with deep voices and muscular physique in a bathroom with young girls?

I wish I could say I understand the trans mindset, but I don’t get it at all.  However, it’s not mine to get.  It obviously means an enormous amount to an enormous number of people, so I’m fine with whatever it takes to make them as happy as the rest of us get to be.

I understand the mindset. Of course, I do. I go back and forth on the 'possibilities.' As a young person, I used to. . . wish it. . . just to be happy (of sorts). The thought goe at the least I could find someone who might/could want me as a "she' who could not want me as a "he." It was always there to be considered, smiled at, maybe 'acted' on in the quiet of my own mind. . .and apartments or home. Alas! It was too far for me to go. I will tell you this about trans-people who have not carried through to surgery. . . their 'junk' yet works down below and so their drives 'persist' (whether acted on or not in some way). Yes, hormones should alter the primal relationship of the drives. . .admittedly, since I never took hormones I don't know how estrogen alters drive. But I once had a friend trans-person who explained to me how she had 'encounters' with males/men who expressed interests in her male 'junk' below. . . . (Don't get the visual. I almost gagged when told myself. As it had never crossed my mind. . . . People can surprise. . . .)

I am going to leave off on this one here. . .because I don't know how deep into the account to go (but I could). However, it may help somebody to understand that 'spiritual' love is more than just about going to "heavens" or "hells". When we love someone, really love somebody, spirit love is involved and is permanent. Physical love is just 'effing" together and is temporary.

Imitation is a form of flattery, it has been said. That a boy or man wishes to endure the physical pain and emotional damages of presenting himself/a version of herself to the public which scorns him/her points out it is not a small 'feat.' And, in a male-dominated society. .. wanting to be dominated by men when you are one willing to opt out. . . speaks to the sincerity and 'force' of the issue. (And yet, we have these insincere people trying to make light of it with insults, mockings, and physical violence.)

What a victory.

Will Mace or any other Republican fight this hard to help their voters when Trump takes away healthcare, hands tax cuts to billionaires, cuts Medicare and Social Security, crashes the safety net resulting in millions more homeless people?

Will any Republican fight this hard for actual kitchen table issues that Americans really want to address?

No, they won't. Because they are more interested in culture wars that are so miniscule it just becomes a rage farm for right wing voters that fall for the outrage peddled by Republicans and right wing media profiting from it.

Indeed.  Men don’t go into a public restroom and expose their junk to anything but a urinal.  Ever.  What is there to be afraid of?  What is any trans man going to see, and better yet who the fuck cares?  What kind of fragile snowflake is concerned about this?!  Will they ever be able to recover from someone born with a vagina seeing them fully clothed from behind while they are standing at a urinal?

And it flies in the face of logic. That is, a woman does not NEED to change her existing sexual self to ATTRACT a straight male. If a trans-male is 'fronting' in order to catch a man in her clutches-it is certainly going to be a woman seeking a homosexual male by virtue of his attraction (and maybe confusion) about what she appears to be 'up and down' on her person.

There are no mythical trans-people (at least I hope not-but, there are always an exception to every rule no doubt) that feel compelled to hang around changing rooms, bathhouses, or 'outhouses' looking for relief. It is not why people go the 'distance' to become who they are inside. Of course, right-wing personages can demonize heterosexuals into responding in any variety of negative ways (including violence) by their words, positions, writings, and actions.

Except....there are no urinals in women's restrooms. None that I've ever seen. We have stalls. Complete privacy...for the most part. I can still hear things

Because there is no evidence of the presence of spirit-living that can be found in human bones of any 'flesh' creatures. And, I should know how this works, because I have spent all my life loving and longing (off and on) for a male companion. Now, I am admittedly old. Some conservatives, y'all ruin lives. . . and lifetimes. Y'all do not understand what you do in your haste and unrelenting arrogance to innocent people 'trapped' in this life with people who hate 'us' to the core.
