So here I am when I was a candidate for City Commissihinor. My niece captioned this photo "Bobby Means Business" that I used on my flyers along with "Think Bobby" I had a lot of great catch phrases but lost to big money.

I'm still involved in city politics and right now we (the people) are fighting a proposed 276 unit apartment complex. The only exit would put a lot of pressure on a road that is already traffic challenged.

Besides the environmental impact the homeowners in the surrounding area are afraid they are going to lose value on their $300,000 plus homes. The biggest fear is that the developer will turn it into Section 8 affordable housing bringing in less than desirable renters.

The city is thinking tax money the residents are thinking being robbed and mugged. The City, in one of its restrictions wrote themselves a failsafe declaring if the developer turns the complex to Section 8 (tax exempt) the developer would be liable for the taxes as if it was still market rate apartments. This does nothing to guarantee the surrounding homes would not lose value.

We are a small town, this project will not fit into our small town charm. Power to the people on this one!
