The Rescues!
Finally, I have a cord that will attach the camera to the computer, and trade files. Next problem, Roxie won't hold still, at all! I'm taking pictures in my tiny little bedroom, which is decorated with a Chinese motif, but I'm getting ready to change it. I have a new blanket that is now covered in dog fur, but I love it, because it is like sleeping in stars!
So here goes! Roxie: I'll be looking for a good home for her. Tomorrow, we go the vet. She has a raw spot on nose and now a new bump. Did Pharaoh pop her one?
Roxie is beautiful, and has been fully vetted, so it shouldn't be too hard to find this sweet girl a home! She got out again today, pushing her way past me and the non-shutting storm door. She, of course, took off running, and since she really doesn't know her name, it's sort of hard to call her back. Fortunately, Matthew came home and helped. The key is to get in the car, like you're going to leave, and she comes running.
Here is the large female kitten, whom I'm going to call Juneau. She is still pretty sick, and her little eyes are a mess. I'm using antibiotic ointment and she is on antibiotics, twice daily. I've been using a cotten ball dipped in warm water to try to clean her eyes, but she is a mess. She needs a bath, but needs to feel a bit better first!
She is a fluffy white kitten and has three pale gray dots on her forehead. She closed her weak little eyes on the flash. That's Matthew holding her. She is so pretty! She scampers around, but you can tell she doesn't feel good.
I took in a stool sample, (thank God for pooh boxes), and will get the results tomorrow. I am sure she is going to be getting more medicine. They are all eating canned cat food, have dry food to munch on, and get a bowl of Kitten Formula twice a day.
This is little Neve, (the Italian word for snow). Little Neve has the heart murmur and is a full half pound smaller than her sister. She tires easily.
Her eyes are blue, which is tough to tell from the infection. She, too has three little pale gray streaks on her head. Her eyes are a mess!
I will bathe them tomorrow, start on their new medicine, continue the antibiotics, and the eye medicine. She scampers too, but then gets tired and lies down, panting...
I truly understand how she feels. She must have a very special home, and I have a feeling that she will be a failed foster...
No pictures of Mama cat, whom I am going to name Ms. Bianca. She was NOT happy last night after her medicine, and her eye drops, and I am perforated. She didn't want Matthew messing with her last night, and since I was already perforated and bleeding profusely, I didn't want HIM to be, too. So we just left it for later.
The three resuce kitties are on strict quarantine from Pharaoh, Boo Bear, and Andy. We taped a large, thin, cardboard box to the bottom of the door, so the other cats can't get to the space beneath the door... Pharaoh is a bit ticked about all this secrecy, and lies beside the box, breathing heavily. But, they have no direct contact, so I hope he is safe.
Thanks for seeing my babies! I'll post more later!
