I know there is probably a more official name for this than "string and fabric art" so if you know what that name is. Please enlighten me! This art was made by my 6x great aunt A. Vanderpoole. Unfortunately, I am not 100% certain what "A" stands for but I think it is Ann. Anyhow, this item has been passed through my Father and Mother to me. I know it to be at least 150 years old at minimum but do not know the exact age. I have looked at this picture no less than thousands of times through my childhood to now. I put this in a box with other items from my Mother and Father. It was actually (to my shock and surprise) something none of my other 6 siblings wanted. I rescued it but through grieving then busy times it ended up forgotten in the basement in a box with other old items. About a year ago my youngest daughter came to me with it in her hands and asked me to hang it in her room. As you can imagine, I was very pleased she discovered, and shared my love for the thing, and her room is where it still hangs today. Please excuse the poor photographs as I took them with my Iphone and did not want to remove the glass from the hanging as the artwork is very old and fragile. It was more difficult than I thought to avoid glare from the glass but even with the poor photos I thought some of my art loving friends might appreciate it. Please let me know if you have, or have seen, anything like it and what you think. 12416_discussions.jpg?width=750 12417_discussions.jpg?width=750 12418_discussions.jpg?width=750
