Beer Exchange ~ Ba Ba Black Lager

Peter and I exchanged brews this time and a very big thank you Peter! Wonderful selection and I amthoroughlyenjoying them! I got a fine selection that includes beers from Epic , Uinta , Squatters , and Wasatch Brewers. The Epic and Wasatch I have tried before through other beer exchanges with Peter so wanted to first try the Uinta. All great I will get to reviewing some of the others on later articles.

For now though, I'd love to be able to sit around and physically share a beer with all of you; alas, this must suffice. Ba Ba Black Lager .

Pours pitch black just like described. A decent tan head that lasted a while. The Aroma was earthy, with a dark coffee and a slight roasted cocoa. Slight carbonation with a medium feel and body. The taste brought up notes of coffee, licorice, coca and something I would just term "dark" almost like the smell of soil after it rains...clean and full. Very, very smooth with a great balance that doesn't comeacrossas heavy, but full flavored. Actually, this is a beer that a person could fill a bucket of ice with and be great for a day at the lake or the back yard in mid-July. Quite drinkable and I really liked it a lot!

Thanks again Peter, you know how to pick 'em!

Well another winner Peter;SLC kicks ass!

So far I really have enjoyed all of the beers I've tried from over there. I think what impresses me the most besides the quality taste, is the largevarietyofstylesand strengths. Though we are seeing more in our bottle shops, we are sorely behind you guys. This is one of those beers that a guy can easily go out and enjoy a few and not have it be too much. I gotta a warm cheery buzz, that didn't include the "full gut" feeling that some beers have.

I'm glad you are enjoying them. We just drank our Porters last night and they were quite tasty! Also, the Pumpkin Stouts really hit the spot!

I admit that the pumpkins were experimental. Between me and my off-line beer buddies, we split on our opinion. Some like it, some are so-so, and some don't. I liked it.
