Two-year-old Jeremy Poou-Caceres was killed earlier this month when he and his mother were caught in the crossfire of a violent incident.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has confirmed that the suspects in a D.C. police shooting and the unrelated death of a Maryland 2-year-old are illegal immigrants, the Washington Times reported.
Two-year-old Jeremy Poou-Caceres was killed earlier this month when he and his mother were caught in a violent incident in Prince George's County, Md. Poou-Caceres's mother sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Nilson Noel Trejo-Granados, ICE stated, is an illegal immigrant from El Salvador. He was twice arrested in Montgomery County, Md., in 2023 and county officials twice ignored the ICE detainer on him, the agency stated.
Earlier this month, three Metropolitan Police Department officers sustained injuries in an altercation while attempting to serve a warrant. ICE confirmed that Stephen Clause Rattigan, the suspect in that incident, is an illegal immigrant from Jamaica. He had previously been deported but reentered the U.S. illegally.
The ICE confirmations come amid mounting scrutiny over violent crimes allegedly committed by illegal immigrants. Last week, the death of University of Georgia student Laken Riley attracted headlines and authorities have charged Jose Antonio Ibarra with her murder. Ibarra, a Venezuelan national, entered the U.S. illegally in 2022, but secured parole, according to immigration records reviewed by Just the News.
