I don't have too much this week as we are heading into the busy season of work. I have aquarium #4 setup and running though I might make some minor changes.
It's a cubicle thing made up of various pieces put together. It's static and doesn't raise or lower. Raising the work surface up 4" would be more ergonomic and save on back & neck strain. The chair is as low as it goes and this new chair does fit under the desk as where the old chair did not. So better, but not best. I'll live. LOL!
The Temple of the Dragon at Peace is hundreds of years old and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has Japan's most famous rock garden. The true meaning of the rock garden is lost to history. Some believe the rocks represent islands in a stream. One scholar considers it to be an abstract composition whose function is to incite meditation. There are 15 stones in 5 separate groups surrounded by white gravel that is carefully raked every day by the monks. The wall behind the garden is an important element of the garden.
I like yard ornaments such as this. A neighbor of mine several years ago had them all over her front and back yards. The seven dwarfs had a section of the yard all of their own. The other were of various types. She called them her 'little people' who watched over her and her house. They were mostly cute, but, a couple were kind of knarly looking, so I guess they were the ones that scared away the evil doers. (grin)
I'll explain. All of them are photos that have been posted over time on this site in original form, but are now displayed edited by various methods, sometimes extremely edited. The first one is a small pagoda next to the lotus pond in the park-like gated community around the corner from where we live. Residents are inside, playing mah jong. The second is a view from the riverboat upon which we took a cruise down the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo through the weird Karst mountains. The third is an overview of Millenium Park in the ancient former Chinese capital of Kaifeng in Henan Province. I can't remember the exact original photo for the flowers and leaves montage, I have taken so many. The next one is an extreme edit of a trio of side-by-side buildings lit up at night taken from the opposite side of the Jialing River in Chongqing. The last one is an illusion of the photo of a houseboat that was posted in the previous Thursday/Friday article.
Thanks Mac. It is my first time working with the Mayan artistry, and I wanted to maintain the history of the people, and the time period. While my primary artwork is with the Native Americans, I wanted to delve into the history, traditions and culture of other Indigenous people, and I will be sharing some of those along with my Native American artwork.
I was intrigued with the type of weapons that the Mayan had, share those with others who may not be aware of the different weapons they had.
Thanks Buzz. I am glad that you like it. When I start something new I am never sure how it may be seen by others. I may be happy with it, but, that is not end of it. I create my artwork to share with my Brothers and Sisters here on NT, so I want it to be something that they will enjoy as well. (smile)
LOL!! The feathers, along with war paint, are part of the Warriors' War Horse battle regalia. There are also many symbols applied to the horse that are meant to help protect the Warrior, as well as the horse in battle.
It was a birthday cake. The cakes that are baked here are considerably lighter and less sugary than most of the ones in North America, but they make up for that by covering them with and inserting lots of fresh fruit, as you can see. Even in Toronto we eventully bought our cakes from a Chinese bakery tor those reasons.
Thanks for the info on the cake. I am not one to like sweets, so I rarely eat bakery bought cakes. Not only are the cakes themselves too sweet, but, the frosting is usually way too thick and overly sweet.
So when I am hungry for cake, I bake my own sans frosting. But, due to the fruit on your cake I think I might enjoy a slice of it. (smile)
This is my Granddaughter's favorite cake, and what she always wants for her Birthday cake. I allow her to cut one entire end of the cake and save it for herself. The rest is gone in a matter of seconds, so that is why I let her take her share first.
Let's begin …
I don't think of your photos above as "replacing" reality, I think of tham as "enhancing" reality.
Mac, your artworks above are truly beautiful. They really inspire the imagination.

Beautiful EG.
That looks just beautiful.
Interesting to see - worlds within themselves.
What a lovely home for your expected Guppies. I am sure they will be very happy there. Lots of space, with lots of greenery to swim with.
Well done!!
Minor changes to the tank last night. The guppies won't be shipped until next Monday.
Water World.
Lookin' good, EG!
Thanks! A trio of fancy guppies will be shipped on Monday.
Sunset at Stone Creek.
Fantastic colors
A super sunset.
Love that sunset Kavika. Father Sky does have a way of producing beautiful color combinations that warm the soul.
My new office chair is a work of art!
And good for the back, too.
That would be the biggest reason I bought one, but I just had to get the Evil Geniuses edition on pre-order. LOL!
Your workstation, and especially your chair, look really conducive to creating and doing work very successfully.
If I could only lift that desk up 4" it would be outstanding.
Why? Can't you get your knees under it? Does your chair have a height control, or is it already at its lowest level?

Oohh....my wants one 'a dem!! Back pillow and head rest. Just what I need!!
Ryoan-ji, Zen Temple, Kyoto, Japan
Calm and peaceful, G.
A meditation paradise.

A very serene and relaxing place. Beautiful.
Portrait of a girl in kimono with umbrella, Kyoto
Great photo, G.
Thanks Kavika
She's lovely.
What a lovely throwback with the Kimono. People don't see many of those anymore. And her beauty does the Kimono justice.
One of my garden statues.
I recall that you collect very unusual items - that being no exception.
Yup. Here’s the original. Love this little guy.
So you could say it's a garden gnome or goblin.
I consider it a gargoyle.

Waterfall in the Mark Twain National Forest SW MO.
Great photo Kavika. It looks like a fun place to hang out.
Thanks G. If you there at night you have to be careful of the ''Ozark Howler''...
I'm scared of that.
Now I'm definitely scared of that!
Is that sort of like Stone Hand? (grin)
There are never enough waterfalls - feasts for eyes and soothers of souls.

Pretty interesting
Not quite sure what those pictures are, but, they are interesting, and pique the imagination.

Thanks for the explanation Buzz. The last one with all the boats did look familiar, but, was not sure.
In the woods, hoping to get some fall photos & working my way to the water for some fly fishing.
If only I had a head of hair … I'd be more likely to catch some flies.
Be back at Dark-thirty.
LMAO
Well, if deer hunting is hunting for deer, why isn't fly fishing fishing for flies?
I'm curious about smelled so great about Pence's hair that it attracted the fly and it seemed reluctant to leave.
Running late today.....but, here is my new artwork contribution for this week....
Wow. An elder looking at me very suspiciously. Should I be nervous?
That side glance does indeed look very suspicious. What have you done to warrant such a look? And from an Elder yet.
Do you have a guilty conscience about something?
What have I done? I think he must know the things I did as a kid that I listed in a comment on McAubrey's article on Things You Used To Do As A Kid.
Guilty conscience? I guess I must have a guilty conscience if I can remember some of the naughty things I did when I was a kid.
Or a very long memory...
Even though he gave you that suspicious glance, I'm sure he was laughing inside. (grin)
Powerful … an "Intense, Silent, Stare"!
Thanks Mac.
That's a terrific image. It does look like he means business.
Thank you G.I would not want to have to answer to him for the naughty things I may have done as a kid. Having to face my Father was bad enough.
Keeping it going …

Beautiful Mac. Very 'other worldly' looking.
Here is another artwork of a time long gone.....a Mayan Warrior.
It has a classical look … not quite Renaissance and not quite Baroque … but definitely the elegance and elements of Classicism.
Thanks Mac. It is my first time working with the Mayan artistry, and I wanted to maintain the history of the people, and the time period. I thank you for your feedback.
Truly an outstanding piece, Raven Wing.
Thank you G. This is something new for me, and provides a lot of challenges as well.
Without question of museum quality.
Thanks G.
A fantastic image, perfectly framed - a real winner.
Thanks Buzz. I am glad that you like it. When I start something new I am never sure how it may be seen by others. I may be happy with it, but, that is not end of it. Looks like we've hit the pause button, so, to continue, here's a shot taken today (one of many).

Beautiful array of colors Mac, as well as a serene and peaceful area. Great photo!
That is very beautiful.
Autumn colours on a country road - one of the Canadian things I miss.
Here is a creation for Saturday.......
Wow. Very creative and unique!
Thanks G. I'm glad you like it.
A feathered horse? What's next, a furry bird? LOL It certainly is "a horse of a different colour".
LOL!! The feathers, along with war paint, are part of the Warriors' War Horse battle regalia. There are also many symbols applied to the horse that are meant to help protect the Warrior, as well as the horse in battle.
Lough Leane, Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland
Overcast, just like we've had here for the last week with more predicted. It's good technique to put something up front to create depth.
We had some clouds here yesterday, but sadly, no rain. Ireland was fairly cool and cloudy during most of our visit, and very beautiful.
Rain today, rain tomorrow, but the sun is supposted to peek through the day after that. Had to take a pill for my arthritic knee this morning.
Beautiful G. Is this where the Loch Ness Monster hangs out? (grin)
Thanks Raven Wing. I'm glad you like it.
I looked for Nessie, but I didn't see it. Actually, lough is the Irish version of loch, both of which, of course, mean lake.
Carrying my theme forward...Thanks to Marie Antoinette I had my cake and ate it too,
That cake looks delicious! Love the frame. Is there a special occasion for the cake?

Yum!! Thank you Buzz......just the right amount of sweetness. (smile)
I'll share my Pineapple Upsidedown Cake too...
This is my Granddaughter's favorite cake, and what she always wants for her Birthday cake. I allow her to cut one entire end of the cake and save it for herself. The rest is gone in a matter of seconds, so that is why I let her take her share first.
Oh, I wish .
Here is my Sunday contribution....
A bird of paradise in an innie-outie frame. LOL
LMAO! Yep.....with that now famous frame.
Keeping it going....
Looks like that Deity is on some kind of drugs. The jitters looks like they are getting the best of him. LOL!
Could be.
Tuesday's contribution.....messing around with my stepdaughter's guitar.
Nice picture Buzz. Great framing.
