Same here, Mac. Beautiful is beautiful no matter what its genre. Many of the so called 'wild flowers' could also be considered to be weeds and/or invasive. The winds can carry seeds to many countries around the world. And birds are also great seed carriers.
Thanks Buzz. This one goes back a few years when I was only posting my artwork in the Anishinaabe group, and before you verbally prodded me into posting here in the creative arts group. (grin)
So there may be others here who have not seen it before as well.
I could not care less what those people think. As you know, I am not a fan of the Chinese government, but I love the Chinese people and their beautiful culture. Chinese art and architecture are magnificent, and it is definitely one of the most picturesque and photogenic places that I have ever visited.
Indeed they are G. And while I will never be able to visit China at this point in my life, I can really enjoy the photos of China's artistic beauty and its people that you and Buzz post here.
And this photo is another beautiful example of your growing artistic expertise as well.
You're very welcome, G. I really enjoy seeing how well you are progressing, both in your skills, and in the development of your artistic imagination with each week's postings. I really look forward to seeing what new levels you have reached.
It's awesome that you had a view of the lake. Was there a marina nearby? I had an uncle who lived by Lake of the Ozarks, and he was only about a mile from the marina that he used, with a gas station and bait shop right on the way. That was handy.
The only thing happening in my front yard at the moment is swampy wetness. Low temps, too. It's almost June and I had to wear a jacket today. My garden is almost a full month behind now. This spring is even worse than last year's (for gardening, at least).
It's the Missing Man Table. Only thing wrong in the picture is the table is supposed to be round. Everything on the table has meaning. This link will better describe the pieces on the table and what everything represents. This to me is what Memorial Day is all about. I still remember the pride I felt when I was promoted to 1st chair trumpet section in my high school band because it meant I was the one who played Taps during the Memorial Day Ceremony at our town monument.
I'm familiar with the missing man table but this one being a rectangle threw me off. Where was this photo take at, Snuffy.
his to me is what Memorial Day is all about. I still remember the pride I felt when I was promoted to 1st chair trumpet section in my high school band because it meant I was the one who played Taps during the Memorial Day Ceremony at our town monument.
Good stuff Snuffy, damn good stuff.
There is a bronze plaque in a bank in Northern Minnesota that reads as follows:
It's actually just a stock photo from my ex-wife. But I have seen this display in other restaurants that have also used small rectangular tables because that's the only type of table they have. While the table should be round, I give more props to the establishments who will set up this display in the first place. Remembering the actual reason for the day had disappeared from much of society many years ago. So very glad I grew up in a small town that kept traditions alive.
Here's a short video (only 10 seconds long) from my trail cam back in early May. It keeps making me laugh, so I thought I'd add a bit of music and post it.
A bird scares a rabbit, which takes off bucking and kicking like crazy, as if all holy hell was after him. I don't think the bird even touched him, and certainly didn't chase him. It cracks me up.
But, what is odd to me is that the rabbit was a first sitting among the group of birds and didn't see afraid of them. It was only when the one moved in its direction that it became terrified. Go figure.
When I look at the inner image, for some reason my mind keeps trying to straighten the background frame. It's sort of like walking into a room and seeing a picture on the wall that is hung crooked - I feel I have to go straighten it up. Perhaps that is a sign that I'm a perfectionist.
Ha HA HA!! A great explanation, Buzz. And exactly the the feeling I was looking for. The angle of both the image and the background, seemingly opposing each other, is intended to give viewers a chance to test their own imagination.
In my own idea of artwork, it is to allow the viewer the means to use their own imagination, to see in it what they want to see, and let the images challenge both their eye and imaginations.
Thank you; I'm saving the best of the series I took this morning for either later tonight, tomorrow, or, next Friday. I'm hoping the Doe and Fawn will continue to show up for more pictures.
Mountain Pink. Some authorities consider this plant, a European native, to be weedy or invasive. Doesn't bother me a bit
A colour almost neon in character.

Homo sapiens is the invasive species!
Very true.
That is very beautiful.

A truly beautiful essay of spectacular flowers. Thanks for sharing Buzz.
A great group of photos.
Heading into Friday........
An interesting frame, and I don't think I've seen that peace pipe image before.
Thanks Buzz. This one goes back a few years when I was only posting my artwork in the Anishinaabe group, and before you verbally prodded me into posting here in the creative arts group. (grin)

Another terrific image, Raven Wing.
I agree
Thank you G. I'm very glad you like it.
Thanks dev.

We need to be careful here GG, there are people on NT who despise China.
I could not care less what those people think. As you know, I am not a fan of the Chinese government, but I love the Chinese people and their beautiful culture. Chinese art and architecture are magnificent, and it is definitely one of the most picturesque and photogenic places that I have ever visited.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your compliment, Raven Wing. Coming from you, it means a lot to me.
You're very welcome, G. I really enjoy seeing how well you are progressing, both in your skills, and in the development of your artistic imagination with each week's postings. I really look forward to seeing what new levels you have reached.
That photo is very cool, G.
Thank you, Kavika
Flowers everywhere.
Horse and Flower Power
Love the Indian blankets, and when I scrolled down and saw the horse I burst out laughing. Now THAT'S a horse of a different colour.
If you look closely at the 4th photo from the top you'll see a beautiful butterfly (bright yellow) sitting on the purple flowers.
The Horse of a different color fits in perfectly...LOL
Beautiful photos, Kavika
Thanks, G.
A beautiful array of Mother Nature's artistic talents with her colorful paint brushes.
Cool. Do I see some shots of the Ozarks in there?
All the photos except the last one of the horse were taken at my home on Table Rock Lake.
The photo of the horse was taken in Ocala, FL. The Horse Capital of the World.
It's awesome that you had a view of the lake. Was there a marina nearby? I had an uncle who lived by Lake of the Ozarks, and he was only about a mile from the marina that he used, with a gas station and bait shop right on the way. That was handy.
It was a mile to my boat at the marina.
My fruit trees are flowering -
I caught this little guy in my cherry tree -
This white-crowned sparrow in my apple tree was a new guest for the weekend -
The first photo hit me as being very three-dimensional, and an unusual perspective. The second one looks like it's sitting in a nest.
Totally agree, Buzz. Simply beautiful.
That's what happens when you don't have your ''No Trespassing'' sign up.
Those are really nice photos, EG
Amazing! Beautiful!
Nicely done!
Awesome, Hal. Looks almost like a painting.
WOW!!! What a great shot.

Good one, Pink.
A lovely, warm, summery combination of flowers and a small bird to enjoy them. Well done, Pink.
Very nice!
Fullfilling this weekend's theme with a lovely floral medley. What I really like about your paintings is that they provide a personal interpretation.
Happening now in my front yard.
And that isn't the half of it!
A sea of beauty. Thank you for letting us enjoy it as well.
Truly beautiful
"If we could see the miracle of a single flower, clearly our whole life would change". – Buddha
Your photo provides a lot of miracles to see.
That's awesome.
The only thing happening in my front yard at the moment is swampy wetness. Low temps, too. It's almost June and I had to wear a jacket today. My garden is almost a full month behind now. This spring is even worse than last year's (for gardening, at least).
Wildflowers a few blocks from my house.
Wildflowers are my favorites. They choose their own venue to grow, and creating for us a picture of Mother Nature's imagination.
Wow! That is so great.
If only life were like that...
A magical visit to the forest.....
I really like that, Raven Wing.
Thank you, G. I am very glad you like it.
....depicted by the magical creativity of your artistry.
Thank you so much for your very kind compliment, Buzz, it is truly appreciated.
I wish I could read the sign on the table. I assume that it has something to do with Memorial Day.

A very meaningful and touching trubute - the setting, and your photo as well.

Yellow Daisies & Deptford Pinks
Those are each very beautiful flowers, Mac. Are they from the wonderful array of wildflowers in the front yard?
They are from my front yard; more to come.
Looking forward to them.

A great collection, and you know what all of them are. I couldn't name half of the flowers I posted.
I don't think I've ever seen that before. Beautiful.
Thanks. It's an ornamental shrub. The flowers are small, but I zoomed them.
A/noon Dig..Can almost smell the perfume from here...Lovely photos..Thank you...They will brighten anyone's day..
Beautiful, Dig.
Outstanding!!!

A real scardy scat that one.
I don't blame the rabbit. I've felt the same way about birds ever since I first watched Hitchcock's movie.
But, what is odd to me is that the rabbit was a first sitting among the group of birds and didn't see afraid of them. It was only when the one moved in its direction that it became terrified. Go figure.
This is one not many have seen. It is one of my first attempts at creative design between frame and subject. Hope you enjoy it.
Morning Raven.. love it....thank you for showing it..
Thank you, shona. I'm very glad you like it. (smile)
LOL For me it's a little mind-bending.
LOL!! Mind bending? In what way, Buzz?

Thanks to everyone and keep it going.

Oh, that's wonderful!
Great photo, Mac. what a precious little baby!
Oh man, that is just beautiful.
Thank you; I'm saving the best of the series I took this morning for either later tonight, tomorrow, or, next Friday. I'm hoping the Doe and Fawn will continue to show up for more pictures.
Even Disney was unable to make a fawn look more beautiful than reality.
Rear Guard! More from my back yard.

A Mother's job is never done!
That little fawn doesn't look like it's more than a couple of days old.
A day or two old.
Yeah, it looks like it is just getting used to its long, wobbly legs.
"Stop that. You're tickling me!!!"
From just a few minutes ago, a house wren singing away.
A chipmunk on his way to the feeder.
Cheeks full.
Heading back home.
What an adorable little Chippy! And boy! It really knows how a pack a cheek!
Great shots as usual.

Keeping the tale (sp?) clean.

Ask me no questions and I'll tail you no lies.
Because Monday is Memorial Day, I will keep the article open throughout the day.

Check out some of the paintings by 19th C. American painter George Inness.
I like this one of his.
Same here. Just awesome.
That's a real beauty, Kavika.
Helloooo Monday......
Monday, Monday, So good to me,
A lovely burl that I can see
Surrounds an image tall and proud
Makes me want to cheer out loud.
Thanks Buzz. I love the Mama's and Papa's. And your poem is a perfect fit.

Those are beautiful, Mac. They look like are pretty big. I bet the bees love them with all their pollen.
No words needed.
Wrapping up this one; thanks to all and see you Friday (or Thursday night if I'll be on the road Friday).
