'Cream' of artist's ink explorations on show in Xiamen

Chen Xiangbo, known for his administrative work to direct the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Guangdong province's Shenzhen, has also built a reputation over several decades for his exploration of Chinese ink art.
The Cream of Art shows dozens of ink works by Chen at the Powerlong Art Center in Xiamen, Fujian province, until Dec 5.
The exhibition, curated by Zhu Xiaojun, showcases Chen's recent endeavors in continuing the aesthetic and philosophical spirit of classical Chinese ink paintings.
On show are the Twenty-four Solar Terms and Twelve Zodiac Animals series, in which he adopts the flower-and-bird style of classical paintings while using a rather bold palette to present a calm atmosphere.
His digital work of animated ink paintings presents his experiment in new possibilities to present traditional art forms.

The second image is of Bodhisattva Guanyin, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy. We have a statuette of her in our home set in a shrine to which we provide offerings of fruit and candy, and in front of which my wife lights and plants in a bowl incense and she and her relatives who visit pray by bowing to her 3 times and saying a short prayer.

Well...it ain't gonna happen on its own. And if those of us who really care about NT don't step up and take it back, then we deserve to lose it. But.....Perrie doesn't. She's put too much time, energy, effort and money into this site to lose it due to a bunch of half wit losers whose only purpose in coming here is to trash the site.
And I will be most happy to design a ball cap with those initials. Maybe we can make it the default hat. (big grin)

Same here. As an old hand Beta Tester, I enjoy getting to help beta test the new features that TiG gives us. It's my way of giving back to the site for all the fun and new things I get to learn from here.
My duty here, and it is more of a privilege as far as I am concerned, is to be the spam police, and to check every new member who signs in to make sure they aren't spammers, and if they are I delete their membership which deletes everything they may have posted if they got the chance to do so. I don't get every one, but because most of the spammers are from Asian countries they sign up when everyone is asleep in America, but I'm awake and spend a lot (too much) of my time on my computer and catch them in the act. However, I do spend time watching movies as well.
For periods I will be forced to, I cannot undergo another heart attack... this place can become very stressful too stressful...
I don't know how you guys can tolerate it....

They have been coming in from India for several years, and it's always a shotgun, several accounts are opened up trying to sell crap like Lahore towing services and such.... Pain in the butt... A couple of days ago I was looking and there was an attorney service offering cheap legal services in Bangalore....

Yes, those were the good times. NT was just getting off the ground and we were all new to each other. It was such fun learning about the new site and getting to know each other.
We had our differing thoughts, opinions and political views, but, we were able to converse with each other without devolving into hate fest and acid baths with one another. We were able to voice our differences and learn from each other.
True there were a few hedge hogs that were unable to accept the fact that not everyone thought the same as they did, but, they either learned to accept our differences, or they just moved on.
Yet, NT is my site of choice, and I have a lot of Friends here, and we respect each other. And that is where the big difference is.
It's good to hear a rational voice, three of my bestest friends here are hard core liberals, I would do anything for them and it would be returned if needed... I have a lot of friends here as well...
We are the same but different is the way I see it, it has to be this way so we accept it, some don't.. to me it would be an awful world if everyone was the same...
I remember when you left for a while, and we talked for quite a bit when you returned, I was very pleased to find a friend... Many of my friends are still here and I'm glad... And thank god for the features TiG has added, they can make this place a much more palatable and quiet place to hang out...
We all want the same things girl, we may go about getting them in different ways but in the end it is all the same... Peace, harmony, serenity, with good company...

For sure. We get lots of spam from India - (movers and packers are persistent - they even come back right after I've zapped them, then a month later they're back again), and other services from there and from Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Taiwan. South Korea, but in all my years doing this only two signups from mainland China, and only one of those was a spammer. Sometimes Eastern European countries, but never Africa or the middle East. Oh, wait, a couple of times over the last 25 years or so I got that message from Africa that if I help that poor bugger who has a multimillion dollar fortune stuck in some bank somewhere, he or she would share it with me. LOL. We get quite a few spammers from the USA as well, and now and then from Australia.

I don't want to look like I'm profiteering on friends, so, that may give me second thoughts, but, if I actually do it, I'll eliminate my markup so that anyone who guys one will just pay for the hat and whatever shipping FineArt America adds. Let me see if I can create the design, post it here, and the decide if it feels too mercenary and get honest input from you guys,
Use a colour other than red and blue or even green - it shouldn't even hint about any political party. It could be "creatively" coloured, using one of your paintings as the colour of the hat. LOL
The NewsTalker logo is the color I used in that I do not believe I have the discretion to vary that without Perrie’s input.

Although I like it, I don't really need it, and nobody here would understand it anyway. I already have 3 baseball caps, a Blue Jays one, a Canada one, and one that a student's father gave me when he came back from a trip abroad that has my real given name on it.
