He was feeling the heat..38oC here y'day and they tend to hang off branches or sit as he is trying to catch a breeze. I put water our for them as koalas do drink it.
Having taught Business English for six years, that included the topics body language and facial expressions, I would guess his expression says he's fed up with everybody, and notwithstanding shona's correct explanation he's sitting up in the tree to get away from everyone who made him fed up.
As I've said before, I regret never having attended a pow wow or watched in person the different dances of the First Nations, but thankfully you are able to provide us with the colour and pageantry of those events very artistically.
Thank you for your very kind words, Buzz. It is my wish to share some of the Native American and Indigenous people's life, culture, traditions and Spirituality with those here who, like you, may not have had the opportunity to see it first hand, as well as those who are very familiar with them.
I'm sure I speak for many as I give you thanks for the pleasure that this group brings us. Leonard Cohen wrote a song called "Anthem", and this line depicts for me what this group means - it is a relief from much of the vitriol that appears elsewhere on thenewstalkers.
"There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in."
And I should add that when I posted an article on the Front (Home) Page asking what they considered the best group on NT, this group was chosen by way more NT members than any other.
Thank you for providing this wonderful group where we can share our artwork, thoughts and opinions, as well as enjoy and learn from those of others, Mac.
And a very Happy New Year to you and your lovely Bride. May 2022 be all that you wish it to be.
Although I took this photo of the Chinese New Year programing off our TV a few years ago, it does express my wishes for all to have a Happy, HEALTHY, prosperous 2022.
Everything about that image is good, the concept, the significance, the artistry of the picture itself, the frame - wonderful job, Raven. He doesn't look too happy, and I don't blame him.
Excellent frame. You may recall that the last time you posted that photo I indicated that Kavika and I in one of our Famous Photographers collaborations had posted a photo of what I thought was a Raven Dancer rather than an Eagle Dancer, although they appear similar.
The regalia worn by the dancers can vary with each Tribe, and some are more elaborate than others. But, they do follow the same basics of the dance. The Raven Dance is related more to the Northwestern Tribes.
The mixture of the clouds that appear to be foretelling of a storm moving in from the left, with the last rays of sun casting a glow on the clouds in the center and to the far right that seems to refuse to relinquish their shine to the last minute of sun, and the spot of blue sky that holds fast to its open space, all play a part in producing the beautiful image we see.
Bougainvillea flowers; but botanically, the purple structures are not the flowers … they are leaves known as bracts! The flowers are surrounded by those bracts.
I would say that having such spirits is a good way to start the new year, especially since they're much more helpful spirits than the ones people use to toast the new year.
Thanks, Buzz. Totem Spirits are those that are given to new babies that will stay with them all their life, unlike Spirit Guides that will change throughout their life depending on the merits of their deeds and accomplishments.
Young Native American children are not considered to be adults until they reach 25 y/o.
I know that to have all of the ducks in a row means "to be well organized, prepared, and up to date; to have everything ready or in order" but I wonder what having all of the pelicans in a row means.
Ooops! I apologize. I should not have posted the answer rather than send it as a private note. I definitely owe you one … I feel bad that I missed the instructions. If you think I’m the only one who saw it, I can delete it so you can post it this Friday.
That's Ok. It's just a silly thing anyways. I did get funny responses from some of my friends that I sent it to, but they aren't printable on a family website.
I had used a multicoloured brain as a clue for my movie quiz for the movie "A Beautiful Mind" so before I read A.Mac's reply I tried to think in that wrong direction.

Done.
Really great articles. Thank you for the heads-up.

New Year celebrations haven't even started yet...
Another 4.5 hours to go...
But looks like he has got a hang over already...
Better strap him to the tree before he takes a tumble. LOL
I can't decide if he looks really wise, or just fed up with everybody.
Morning Sandy...
He was feeling the heat..38oC here y'day and they tend to hang off branches or sit as he is trying to catch a breeze. I put water our for them as koalas do drink it.
Happy New Year to you...

A beautiful depiction of the end of a year, as difficult as it may have been for many, but there is still hope for the future.
A very beautiful scene, Mac. Love the varied colors of the sky, and its reflection on the waters below.
Thanks to everyone who has made the CREATIVE ARTS GROUP the success it continues to be.

Morning Mac...No thank you for having the wisdom and foresight to set this up in the first place.
We get a chance to show others where we live in different parts of the world.
It is an escape to get away for however short the mundane stuff in life that seems to go on forever.. politics, virus, doom and gloom...
So very well done on your behalf..
I wish you and Mrs Mac a very happy new year and a safe and healthy one...
I hear there is a big party tonight, mostly humans.
Really, where at?
At the human clubhouse.
Count me in, I loves me some party.
My kind of photos!
LOL. Well done, Kavika.
Great photos, Kavika. Sounds like a fun time to be had.
Although I took this photo of the Chinese New Year programing off our TV a few years ago, it does express my wishes for all to have a Happy, HEALTHY, prosperous 2022.
Great photo, Buzz. Happy New Year to you and your Bride.
Morning.... you to Raven...your pictures are fantastic and you are truly blessed with a wonderful talent..
Happy New Year....we are already 11 hours into it....
Thank you, shona, and I hope 2022 will be filled with joy and good health for you and yours.
Moving on to the new year....2022....
Prophetic! Wonderfully conveyed compositionally and aesthetically rich as well.
Thank you very much, Mac.
Titled, ''End of an Era''.
Thanks, Kavika. Yes, it truly was the end of an era. One that had served its people well for thousands of years.
Everything about that image is good, the concept, the significance, the artistry of the picture itself, the frame - wonderful job, Raven. He doesn't look too happy, and I don't blame him.
Thank you, Buzz. I'm very glad you like it.
First post of 2022.
"Bass On!"
This is one of my favorite photos.

A great photo, and of one of my long lost most favourite passtimes.
One of my favorites as well.
A new Saturday, and the start of a new year.....
An Eagle Dancer
Excellent frame. You may recall that the last time you posted that photo I indicated that Kavika and I in one of our Famous Photographers collaborations had posted a photo of what I thought was a Raven Dancer rather than an Eagle Dancer, although they appear similar.
Thank you, Buzz. The Raven Dance normally includes the replica of the Raven's head in the regalia, such as shown here.....
....which makes it different from the Eagle dance.
Ah, yes, thank you for that information. I can see now that the Eagle Dance can call for a different helmet, or else, none at all.
The regalia worn by the dancers can vary with each Tribe, and some are more elaborate than others. But, they do follow the same basics of the dance. The Raven Dance is related more to the Northwestern Tribes.
Damn that hat again. I wish we could figure out what changes the artwork into the default hat image so we can stop them from changing.
All the pictures are open for me - no hat.
They're all showing again for me as well. Not sure what happened, but, glad the hat is gone now.

That really is a real beauty, Mac, with a myriad of colors that tell their own story at the days end. Even the pup enjoys it.
Yes Raven, I thought too that the reflected blue sky did provide a special kind of contrasting interest to the photo.
Heading towards Sunday. It seems we're missing one or two of our regulars -- hope everyone is safe and well.
Hopefully they are not stranded in an airport somewhere with their flight cancelled.
One more to see us into Sunday.....
A Warrior Breaking In His New Pony
He's breaking in his new pony and your breaking in a new Sunday. LOL
LOL! I hope that is all I break. (grin)
Just thought I'd add another floral shot since it's a bit slow this weekend.
A real beauty, Buzz. Love the color.
Bougainvillea flowers; but botanically, the purple structures are not the flowers … they are leaves known as bracts! The flowers are surrounded by those bracts.
FYI.
Thank you very much for the clarification, Mac. Very interesting flower.
Thank you for the info. When I posted the photo the thought did go through my head that save for the colour they LOOKED like leaves.
Sunday is here...so here's one to start the day....
Totem Spirit Birds
I would say that having such spirits is a good way to start the new year, especially since they're much more helpful spirits than the ones people use to toast the new year.
Thanks, Buzz. Totem Spirits are those that are given to new babies that will stay with them all their life, unlike Spirit Guides that will change throughout their life depending on the merits of their deeds and accomplishments.
Young Native American children are not considered to be adults until they reach 25 y/o.
Feeling creative today.
Midnight Flight

WoW! That really is creative, Mac. Love it!
Yep, great to see a couple of Canada Geestronauts.
One more for this Sunday....
Dynamic!!! Very impressive.
Thank you, Buzz.
Another stained glass gem!
Thank you very much, Mac.
The boys are back in town. White pelicans usually get here late November to Early December and stay through March.
I know that to have all of the ducks in a row means "to be well organized, prepared, and up to date; to have everything ready or in order" but I wonder what having all of the pelicans in a row means.
Pelicans are associated with humility, sacrifice, generosity, and unity.
It looks like they are pretty united in the photo, Buzz.
There's plenty of pretty Pelicans on parade. Thanks for sharing them with us, Kavika.
I am keeping this open in the hope that our missing, regulars might show up.
I put this together the other day and sent it to a couple of my friends with the question: Can you guess the title?
The answer should be easy. Any guesses?
If you want to play, you can send me your guess and I will post them next week, since this article will probably be closed soon.
(P.S. Humor is encouraged.)
Thinking outside of the box.
Good to see you.
You win. Game over.
Ooops! I apologize. I should not have posted the answer rather than send it as a private note. I definitely owe you one … I feel bad that I missed the instructions. If you think I’m the only one who saw it, I can delete it so you can post it this Friday.
Again, my apology.
That's Ok. It's just a silly thing anyways. I did get funny responses from some of my friends that I sent it to, but they aren't printable on a family website.
I still owe you one, but thank you.
Ok, then the next round of drinks is on you!
Buy ya' dinner too.
I had used a multicoloured brain as a clue for my movie quiz for the movie "A Beautiful Mind" so before I read A.Mac's reply I tried to think in that wrong direction.
I would call that Overthinking Outside the Box.
I'm not one of the missing, but, hoping to keep it active to give them time to participate.
All around beautiful.
Thanks to all; see you this Friday.
