And as you know, people in China use umrbrellas in the sun as well. Your work with that photo does make one feel the intensity and immediacy of the rain.
The second photo upper right hand side looks like a hole in the clouds/sky. It reminds me of the famous chief of the Ojibwe, ''Hole in the Day/Sky The Younger''...An interesting character to say the least and one whose assassination is clouded in mystery yet the assassins were known and members of the Pillager Band of Ojibwe.
Anton Treuer wrote a book about it and I've heard that there is rumor that a movie may be made of his life.
However, having come with only what two suitcases and a carryon could hold, all these were left with my ex-wife. The photos were taken with my original digital camera at least 17 years ago, and are greatly enlarged images from much bigger photos, which explains their poor quality.
1. On the left of the second shelf down is a sculpture from an antler of The Three Sisters, and beside it an Inuit sculpture of a walrus on a rock.
2. The very delicate Fiddler on the Roof doll was kept on a pedestal under glass. My son's university graduation photo (either his Bachelor's or his Master's) is on the top shelf and my daughter's (either her Bachelor's or one of her two Master's) is on the third shelf.
3. The sunlight streaked through the venetian blinds.
4. On top of the antique English desk sits a Court Jester, many family photos sit in front of the Moorcroft lamp.
5. Silver tea service
6. A very poor photo of an original Norval Morrisseau painting, that was a gift to me by the artist, as I was his lawyer. I just noted that his paintings are now selling for up to almost a quarter of a million U.S. dollars. This one was about 30 inches wide. Our home was filled with First Nation artworks.
7. I really enjoyed our cow water kettle - the open mouth on the head was the spout.
8. The key holder was made by one of our kids when they were young. I really wish I had a better photo of the stone plaque. The words on it were from Ecclesiastes: "FOR EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON, AND A TIME FOR EVERY MATTER UNDER HEAVEN".
Evening... must admit I was not impressed when he peed on my letter box....had to get the hose and wash it down..the strong pungent smell was enough to knock you on your back..
Yes you can throw in brush tail and ring tailed possums, the occasional Wallaby and a few snakes over the years... Naturally...
Last night Stone Creek had its annual Christmas Parade (old people in golf carts) and various homes throughout the complex had food, candy, drinks for who ever stopped by. Here are photos of some of the golf carts and there decorations.
Now that winter as arrived (except for FL, AZ, and SOCAL, and OZ) it's time for you palagi to dream about white sand beaches, swaying palm trees, and some kava to drink as you dream the time away.

Beautiful photo.
Arvo Mac..great photo, rather stunning with all the colours in the sky...the tree needs a Koala in it. 🐨
It could certainly bear the presence of one.
There you go..🐨
Link is appreciated. Some fabulous wildlife photos there.
And your words are well illustrated by a great photo of the sun going down.
Absolutely beautiful photo, Mac. Well done!
Arvo...one of my roses has bloomed in time for the Christmas season. It almost looks like a Camilla.
Nice rose.
Thanks G... unfortunately it doesn't have a perfume..
Well, it's still beautiful to look at.
But it has stunning colour.

End of the day. Stone Creek, Ocala FL.
Maybe so, but we all know how beautiful the next one will be.

When I first saw it I was a little puzzled about it. I thought it might have been a flaw in the photo - thank you for satisfying my curiosity.
Good start ladies & gents!
Treasures left behind when I moved to China.

Is that really the colour those leaves were?
Yes, of course. I took the photo in the unicorn forest in my backyard.
Well, anything is possible. This is an unedited, unretouched photo direct from the internet of a Japanese Maple tree.
and another...
These are photos I took in Japan. They are not enhanced in any way.

Okay
Yep. Including a unicorn forest in my backyard. You saw the article I posted a little while ago.
Yes, so did you get a county licence for the unicorns in your forest?

Majestic..
Mere words cannot begin to express my total fascination with this utterly beautiful image. A job so wonderfully well done, Mac. One of your best!

Arvo.. sitting in my Gumtree at the moment..the tree closest to the house is where she is..
It must be quite a trip to be so close to wildlife, that looks as if it's curious about you.

The top photo reminds me of the line from the Movie Casablanca. ''Here's looking at you, kid.''

And a good time was had by all.
Lots of fun for all you old geezers. LOL

Don't have the video or any alternatives to YouTube that I have, but at least I can enjoy the lyrics.

Outstanding, Mac.
Don't know if it will happen but, hope to meet again; if not, I am deeply grateful for the meeting we had.
As am I, Mac.
Activity has slowed to a halt so I'll close this one down soon.
Thanks to all; see you Thursday night.
