The same to you and your loved ones, A.Mac - wishing you and yours a Happy, Healthy, Safe, Properouis New Year. Let the light from those images shine the way to better times for all of us.
Photos nobody here on NT has ever seen before. Before I left Canada, we sold off some of our artworks either on eBay or at garage sales. These are Edna Hibel Mothers' Day 'Mother and Child' Collector ceramic plates. Most likely they were sold over eBay since I photoed them and their descriptive backs.
This is the back of the plate above. It is the only one I am sure to be the match the plate.
.
Have to mix and match here. The backs of the two plates immediately above are as follows, in no set order.
I don't believe this one was a Hibel. I used to go to garage sales and pick up vintage silver, works of art, musical instruments, vintage cameras, and vintage china to clean up and resell either on eBay or at our own garage sales.
Here are a few photos I took during my visit to the Atlanta Arboretum in 2006. Mixing them among the beautiful flora and fauna of the arboretum helped make them both really stand out;
The lovely blown-glass bubbles are shown here in the large pond in front of the arboretum;
The glass items are mixed among the plants created very interesting displays;
This odd looking blown-glass exhibit is located in the water fountain and pond in the middle of the arboretum patio;
These beautiful blown-glass works of art are on display among the mystical plants;
That's exactly who the artist is, Dale Chihuly. I didn't mention his name in the beginning as I was curious as to how many might recognize his brilliant artwork. I happenrd to be in Atlanta visiting a friend and heard that a Chihuly exhibit was on display at the time, so being a long time great fan of his I was determined to see his beautiful artwork in person. And my little Canon PowerShot 350 didn't let me down.
I never wear any fabric that looks better covering furniture, however, I do own 2 black with pinstripes double breasted suits and a pair of 2 tone oxfords.
Thanks to you for doing this every week for us. It is nice to where people can get together and just share.
I tip my hat to you my dear sir.
I went to our Mardi Gras museum. I won't bother with a lot of pics but I wanted to show one. It was from the original museum that was destroyed by Katrina. What they were able to salvage from several costumes were stitched together to make a sort of mural.
Happy New Year!
HNY/amac!
Many thanks!

Beautiful works of art, Buzz. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.

Fascinating images.
Thanks Buzz. I have a few more to share next week.
Those are great. They appear to maybe be the work of Dale Chihuly, who is an amazing glass artist.

Lovely. I like the use of bright colors.
Nice. Thanks!
cool
color assortment looks like the polo shirt section in my closet.
Really? I always imagined you only wore black.
I never wear any fabric that looks better covering furniture, however, I do own 2 black with pinstripes double breasted suits and a pair of 2 tone oxfords.
Magnificent.
Thank you very much.
A potential stained glass window!
That's interesting. I hadn't thought about that for this image.
