I was just thinking that I've never seen the the Atlantic coast of Canada, but I've seen it from so many other places like Boston, Provincetown, Nantucket, NYC, Florida, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica and Barbados, but I have no coastal photos with me from any of those places, so I'll have to participate with some alternatives. It being the last day of the Dragon Boat Festival in China, the following photos are relevant:
My wife making zongzi - a bamboo or reed leaf formed into a cone and stuffed with sticky rice with one of a piece of meat, Chinese date, egg yolk or other edible item inserted, then closed and tied with a string, then boiled.

A typical Dragon Boat Festival family meal at our home - note the boiled and then unwrapped zongzi bottom right:
Although it stayed on the Front (Home) Page for at least an hour or two with little or no interest indicated, here is an article explaining the Dragon Boat Festival that I posted a couple of days ago. LINK ->
Evening Evil.. everything is looking good.. especially the waterfall...
So when are you going to stuff something in the tanks to liven things up?? A shark or croc, all this tranquil water is more than a koala can bare..🐨🐨🐊🦈
try putting your hand in the tank if you need some excitement...
One of the biggest freshwater fish guys on YouTube has a piranha tank. They go a bit crazy when they are being fed, but it's not like the movies. He's not afraid of sticking his hands in the tank and moving plants or hardscape around. He just recently picked up an electric eel... that's a totally different thing. He hasn't been electrocuted yet, but he's cautious.
For sure this is a fish known for aggression. I started my shrimp colony with my last beta and that wasn’t supposed to work. Now some people have beta “sororities”. Multiple females in a heavily planted larger tank. Sometimes those don’t work out either.
Eddy here flairs at me when I feed him, so I’m not inclined to add tank mates.
I’m not exactly sure what ghost shrimp are. I’ve known people who have them, but because they are more difficult to see I have never gotten them. The red cherry shrimp I have are Neocaridina shrimp. They are selectively bred in many colors and the most easy to take care of. I tried and failed with my first few attempts at keeping shrimp too. These started with a dozen I bought from another hobbyist online. Shrimp in general are just really sensitive to water parameters.
I'm working on a small pond. This year I'm getting the pond and garden all situated (it is completely overgrown with snow on the mountain). I'm ordering some stone this week. Next year I'll work on getting it plumbed to a filter and add potted pond plants. I don't think I'll put in any fish. Too many neighborhood cats and racoons...

if it's really fiber optic cable, don't mess with it. you'll get tagged with a federal offense. contact the FCC and they will light a fire under the contractor.
it's probably not fiber optic. the cost of replacement is too expensive. it's likely cable or phone, but if it's fiber optic, it's labeled on the casing.
I recall your posting that photo previously, and that I remarked that it caused memory of walking as a kid to the Lake Ontario beach on the Burlington Beach strip of land dividing the far western end of Lake Ontario from Burlington (Hamilton) Bay. My grandmother's cottage was on the bay side of the strip so to get to the beach we had to cross the Queen Elizabeth Highway, the railroad tracks then walk through the bushes to get to this...
Geez if they put a transmission tower on a beach here there would be a riot or war..and it looks a nice beach totally stuffed with that monstrosity sitting on it...
That photo is so great. It reminds me of the path across the street from where I used to stay whenever I was on Kauai that I took every day to my favorite spot on Hanalei Beach. Body surfing heaven.
Photo from the internet. Beach at Hanalei. This is what it looks like when it's crowded.
Here are some juvenile Bluebirds, probably siblings and not long from the nest, enjoying the homemade bird fountain yesterday. Lots of bird song in the background, too.
A male and female built a nest in one of my birdhouses, but after the wrens returned they abandoned it and went somewhere else. I guess the yard got too busy for them.
I think I've learned something about Bluebirds. They don't seem to want to bathe until after they've finished nesting. I was worried all spring because they weren't coming to the fountain, but now that the juveniles are out of the nests, that thing has turned into a Bluebird waterpark for adults and juveniles alike. They just love it.
Maybe they have some kind of instinct about not getting wet when they're nesting. It might reduce the risk of disease for the chicks or something.
Red and I were here in Sept 1989 just before the Civil War broke out in 1990. It is stunningly beauitfu.
Plitvice Lakes National Park consists of 16 crystalline lakes , emerald-blue in color and connected by a series of more than 90 cascades and waterfalls. The park has been divided into two sections, the Upper Lakes and the Lower Lakes, based on their geological features.

Thank you. This one is really worth a look.

Arvo..yum..I will be right over...
The welcome mat is ready and waiting,.
A wood stork looking for a snack. Stone Creek, Ocala FL.
We've had some hellish rain and lightning storms the last week, this is what it looked like.
We have had torrential rain. Had a tornado that tore apart Moss Point.
It looks like our rain is done for the season unless we get the outer edges of a storm off of Baja, which sometimes happens during the summer.
That stork should stop screwing around and get busy bringing more babies as there seems to be a falling birth rate,.
Whoa! Catching a lightening bolt is a real feat!
Arvo...well it's a perfect Winter's day here but crap weather is coming...
Just got back from a walk along the foreshore..
Our whale boat that is used for racing now and not hunting..sure were game in those days...Shags aka Cormorants are slothing out on the jetty...
ugh. I need oz closed captioning...
Morning Devangie...I knew there would be one..🤣🤣
Better watch out, the killer whales are fighting back...
Arvo...yes they do seem abit feraly up in the Northern Hemisphere at the moment...
Ours are more civilised down here.. better breeding...
Her name is Goofy and she likes to sit around the out buildings by herself...
His name is Eddy and he too likes to be by himself...
a wide shot of Eddy and his new home.
My first attempt at making a waterfall.
Evening Evil.. everything is looking good.. especially the waterfall...

Hi shona! Thanks for the compliments. I don't think a shark or a croc would fit in any of the tanks. No one like a pissed off crocodile.
I just ordered a new 60cm shallow tank to replace the little 22L office tank I have now. Hopefully it comes before our holiday weekend.
Morning..
Piranhas would fit..
Maybe a couple in my biggest tank. They really aren’t very exciting though.
try putting your hand in the tank if you need some excitement...

Eddy has a nice big home for himself.
they aren't exactly social. I had one that took out the entire population of my first tropical fish tank. so I fed him to my cousin's oscar...

You're really putting together some spectacular tanks, EG.
Thanks. Sometimes making time to keep them clean is tricky. That’s the plan for today though.
You do so good with the shrimp. I tried the ghost shrimp and not much luck.
I think the diver has been in the water a little too long...

Typically American - isolationist..
Nice stuff, EG.
That waterfall would make a great bird attractor outside, too.

Nicely done, G.
Thanks, Kavika.
Interesting overlays. Calligraphy is considered an art form in China, and those are fine examples.
Did you win anything in the LensCulture contest? I didn't.
I am always very appreciative of the calligraphy from China and Japan.
For anyone who might be interested, this is a link to this particular Mi Fu calligraphy on the Met's website:
I was not one of the LensCulture contest winners. I didn't really expect to be.
I just submitted this image for their "Street Photography" contest. "Lantern Festival, Chongqing". I don't expect it to win anything either.
You might be surprised..
From your lips to God's ears.
I think that is a great photo.
This is the photo I submitted for the LensCulture "Street Photography" contest. I took it in Amsterdam.

Love it. Good luck with it.
Thanks.
Outstanding entry! Good luck.
Kind of slow … any particular reasons?
I need some new pics. Haha
Summer vacation?
Morning...Middle of Winter.. everything is slow here..🐨🦘
your article needs more up votes. I'll start threatening people, be back later... /s
Uh huh, thought you could get me aye....Haha
I went and looked right after I made that comment. you got lucky this time...
More stormy weather today. An egret surfing on a branch in one of our lakes.
Photo taken by one of my neighbors.
That gave me a chuckle. You don't see that everyday.
You sure don't Dig. My neighbor said when he first saw it he did a double take trying to figure out exactly what the heck was going on.
well, I could take a pic of the fiberoptic line that has been laying across my lawn for two weeks...
if it's really fiber optic cable, don't mess with it. you'll get tagged with a federal offense. contact the FCC and they will light a fire under the contractor.
They were suppose to bury it, still waiting.
it's probably not fiber optic. the cost of replacement is too expensive. it's likely cable or phone, but if it's fiber optic, it's labeled on the casing.
They replaced my old line and modem and inside line. Said it was to the fiberoptic. Had to run it from a pole across the street and under the road.
Arvo... could always pretend it was a snake..🪱
A snake that was marked with bright orange flags...Haha
Highly dangerous and very rare breed..😁
My doggie dog.
.
Ok, this dog of mine just come over to me and shook her head. Flung some spit on me or something.
Class act that one...
Doggie slag... privileged..🐾🐾
Doggie looks comfortable.
More coasting along.

They were put there before I was born, long before there was any concern about them. In fact they ran all the way along the beach strip.
That photo is so great. It reminds me of the path across the street from where I used to stay whenever I was on Kauai that I took every day to my favorite spot on Hanalei Beach. Body surfing heaven.

Been there, saw that, agree that it indicates the most crowds ever seen there.

Great music in the morning.
Very cool! I haven't seen blue birds in years. We do have a pair of Jays though. Saw the male in the apple tree this weekend.
A gator cruising along the Silver River, Ocala, FL.
That looks like a really inviting spot for a nice cool dip on a hot summer day.
If you don't mind sharing the water with a gator.
Oh, that. Well...
A classic.
In a while, crocodile.
Gives new expression to the Mafia saying about "swimming with the fish".

There's nothing as enchanting as a good old-fashioned waterfall.
That is true, Buzz. The numerous falls there are just spectacular.
Some friends are cruising the Rhine River in Germany and posted this photo.
Wasn't in the news a while ago that it was drying up and a lot of traffic on it had to stop?
Yes, part of the river are so low that they have to use a very shallow draft boat to move on the river.
The same with the Po River in Italy, that one is completely dried up in sections of it.
Found one more pic from the aviary. They probably told me but I don't remember what this guy was.
Scarlet Ibis likely.
Thanks to all! See you Thursday night.
