Evening..I was in Israel in 1985 by myself..the war was on with Lebanon but felt perfectly safe... helicopters were flying overhead going back and forth as I sat on the beach in Tel Aviv..
Was a bit of a worry being on public buses with the soldiers and their guns jammed in my back. I just hoped the safety was on...
Never had any trouble there was a bit strange on the back of the motel doors instead of fire escape maps it was for bomb shelters...
Would not hesitate to go back there again.. great country and great people..🇦🇺❤️🇮🇱
Thanks, but you're much too kind. They're just tourist souvenir shots but they make the point that I've been to Israel, from almost to the Lebanese border on the north to Eilat on the Red Sea to the south. If A.Mac doesn't mind, a few memories about that trip.
When we were in Jerusalem, the Palestinian terrorists exploded a bomb on a bus that shook our hotel and I ran out on the balcony to see the smoke rising from the bus station. When we were at a kibbutz near the Lebanese border Hezbollah sent kite bombs over Israel and we had to run to a bomb shelter. When we were on a min-bus on the way to Petra, Jordan, driven by a Jordanian tour guide we were stopped by a couple of gunmen with rifles, and the driver had to beg them to allow us to pass because if they harmed us his business would be ruined. In Petra, the young boys picked up stones from the ground and put them on a table selling them to the dumb tourists who could have picked them up themselves. We walked into Egypt when we were staying at a hotel in Eilat. You see the photo of Harvey Atkin, the actor - He and I and our wives were sitting in the bar of the hotel in Jerusalem and Netanyahu came in with a couple others and sat at a table close to ours. Harvey went over to shake his hand (remember this was almost a quarter of a century ago - our trip was called Mission 2000) and just as Netanyahu told him "No pictures" I took a picture of them shaking hands that Harvey really cherished. When we were on Masada, which was the day after the bus bombing, a few Israeli jet fighter planes flew BELOW us, and we thought, 'holy shit, hope a war isn't starting'. I swam in the Dead Sea and it's impossible to drown because it is so buoyant it's impossible to do anything but float on top. And when I stood on the edge of the Golan Heights looking down at Israel I could understand why it was so important for Israel to control that precipice.
Morning.. looking good there evil...so are you going to put something dangerous in there?? And create some excitement??? I have plenty of suggestions..😁🐙🐊🦈
Somewhat, although I haven't even really looked at Lensculture lately as much as I did before. I got a new app that allows me to take multiple exposure images, and combining it with a life-long study of art, I got inspired to experiment further. I'm more influenced by Picasso, Dali and several other great artists with what I'm trying to create here. Also, a photographer/artist named James Welling, who is not on Lensculture at all, along with several other photographers whose work I have been checking out. That's not to say that Lensculture doesn't have some really excellent photographers sometimes. I do like to check Lensculture every few days to see what they have.
The clouds ADD to the image. If they weren't there it would be the same picture that you'll see a thousand times. For example, here is a moon shot I took quite a while back. If not for the clouds and mist it would just be a plain ordinary moon shot, but the clouds and mist create a spooky atmosphere.

In the desert on the way south to Eilat, at the Flour Cave.

On the edge of Lake Tiberius farther north, the Golan Heights in the background.

With my friends in Tel Aviv - Actor Harvey Atkin (Meatballs, Law & Order) in the middle. The Hebrew letters say "McDonald's".
It was an awful lot safer back then.

Your pictures are great. You look like a tourist!

Getting closer to working on my new project... I'm hoping to have some time tomorrow.

Morning shona. It's only 7.5 liters so not big enough for crocs. LOL.. maybe I should see if my sister will 3d print me one to stick in there.
The Phillies seem to be a team of destiny again. Picking up Nick Castelanos last year is one of the best moves in baseball in a long time.

I think you're taking a cue from LensCulture and creating very complex pictures, the kind they like.

Okay, keep up the good work.
Thanks!
Bottom image, IMO, strong commercial and decorative possibilities.
That is great! Thanks
This photo was taken today. Great Blue Heron on the dock at the Homosassa River just before it enters the Gulf of Mexico.
''Reflections'' Sunset reflections on the pond at the 2nd hole, Stone Creek Golf Course.
I'm thinking that kids with masks and snorkels collecting golf balls from the water hazards is a rarity in florida...
No kids in the water hazards, they make tasty morsels for the gators.
Running out of BLUE RIBBONS … re-ordering today.
Thanks, Mac.
That photo is like a fantasy.
It was overcast here but managed to catch a couple of phone pics of the ring of fire.
PERFECT!!!
Thanks Buzz. The clouds kinda acted as a filter. Got some pretty good pics imo.

Even better than the other one.
Unique subject adeptly captured!
Thanks AMac.

Bringing back memories of how much I loved watching baseball.
