Make a creative "splash," and/or a fluid comment.
not too much longer before you're able to recreate that scene on the water.
A fluid comment? Okay, I've got a Heineken's in my hand. What fluid goes in YOUR photo?
Arvo..been sloshing around here for the last two months..
lucky your float surf thing doesn't look like a club cracker or piece of toast...
Morning... that's why I'm bought a red surf mat ..they go faster so Jaws will have a hard time catching me..
And an added bonus it's a red back brand, so it's deadly to sharks..
have somebody spray the silhouette of a seal on the underside of the mat for maximum speed...
Seal!!.. that's peasant food.. our Jaws have more upmarket and superior tastes..😁
they must circle that rock waiting for tourists to fall off it or paddling around it on red surf mats ...
Arvo...our sharks don't go for legs.. when they can have the whole body in one go..
all sushi is created to be bite sized...
Not at that awful Denny's south of Waco...
That's not sushi, that's SUSHI.
Actually, I'll take the Asian, you can have the blond.
Just been for a stroll along the cliffs over looking the harbour on a Summer's evening..
As a kid I spent the summers at my grandmother's cottage, where there were 2 lighthouses not far away, and the sound of the foghorn during foggy times.
I was playing around with some hardscape last night to get a feel for an idea. The end result probably won't be this pagoda stone though.
The shallow office tank is starting to look a bit overgrown.
You're right. The fish tank itself is starting to be secondary to the forest above it.

Ah, dreamy scenes to whet the imagination's power of fantasy travel.
"Fantasy travel" yet I was there to take both photos.
For you it is (and was) reality, but for me it is "fantasy travel".
This is something of an experiment for me; the original photograph is black and white, restored from a Magic Lantern Slide taken in 1915 or so. The "tondo" shape is the original but the "matting" around it was created digitally by me, and, it was white.
Today I decided to put a new sky behind the boat and water and intially, it covered the matte and the photo as well. At the moment, I deem it a "happy accident" - serendipitous even. But that's now and I'm posting it to get both objective and subjective feedback.
Really! Do not hold back; I value the opinions and evaluations of all our members.
Here's the image; I'm going to the gym and will check back later.

Excellent work. It rekindled for me memories of being at Lake Muskoka in the Muskoka Lakes district of Ontario about 70 years ago, where vintage sightseeing steamship boats such as this one, The Sagamo, cruised the lakes. Note the similarity.
Continuing with Muskoka memories of 7 decades ago, it was a time when the rich people who had cottages (like mansions) on the shores of those lakes also had boathouses housing the magnificent vintage wooden boats of the time, the Greavette Boats and Minett Boats that were the Rolls Royces on the lakes, like this one:
Long ago I posted an article on NT about those boats.
I actually found that article that I posted here more than 9 years ago by searching for it on Microsoft Bing, but I couldn't open the photos posted with it. However, here is a bit from it that is relevant to the steamship photos posted by A.Mac and myself above:
I like it Mac, the lighter clouds behind the boat and the darker clouds, rain clouds above them bring the water as more of a focal point for me, and the black smoke coming from the stack for some reason locks it all together for me.
Forgot to add this, I think that the boat, water and clouds within the circle are perfect outside of it IMO they detract from the boat.
If I understand correctly, I think you are saying that outside of the circle, the matte area, might be better as solid white or any solid color rather than details which are distractions?
Maybe I will post such a variation for comparison.
Stay tuned.
That is exactly what I'm saying, Mac.
It is very beautiful but I wonder if it might be enhanced by making the "matte" surround a bit lighter so there is a contrast with the oval image, or maybe something along the lines of what you mentioned in your reply to Kavika's comment. Whatever you do, I think you want the surround to be lighter than the oval area.

These are perfection!
His photos are of professional quality and I guess you could call him a professional photographer.
They sure are!
Wow! Fantastic.
Makes me look forward to summer.

Interesting - something I never saw or even HEARD of before. I once enjoyed a shadow puppet show, but it was at the Beers Family Fox Hollow Folk Festival in upstate New York more than half a century ago, and it was an American family of "folkies" who performed it. However, I'm fully aware that shadow puppetry is a traditional folk art here in China. I took this photo at the Bell Tower in Xi'an, the home of the famous Terra Cotta Warriors.
I've been in the Bell Tower in Xi'an. It has an interesting collection.
The Drum Tower is about a block away from the Bell Tower. It also has a very interesting collection.
I was at both as well, and although I didn't try to ring the big bell at the Bell Tower, I did bang the big drum at the Drum Tower.
Chuck Barris never looked so good!
I never looked THAT good...
I sure as hell never had THAT much hair.

A MARKETED variation.

The black surround looks good with the sepia photo.
I agree G.
It looks great Mac.
I see it as a darkened sepia surround to match the darkened sepia darker tones of the image, and IMO is most effective.
On my phone it looked black. Now that I'm looking at it on my computer it is a darkened sepia.
