Welcome everyone.
Two images of the same thing... JWST on the right. Gravitational lensing is obvious. Literally looking back billions of years in time.
Fantastic!

It should be appreciated that although those photos are not vintage, they appear to be because of what they depict, save for The Wall which by desaturating could appear vintage.
I think the guy on his cel phone in the bottom picture sort of gives it away.
Same country, similar subjects, current viewpoint, different photographer.

A gate
great eye G...
Thanks dev.
I'll say! I didn't see the guy was on the phone in the "gate" photo - but then I know I need new glasses.
Evening..two are better than one..
Taken in my backyard and a huge brawl erupted soon after the photo was taken..
She doesn't like him, as he found out..
That's a great picture - I'm sure most of us would never have anything like that in our back yard.
maybe she had a headache...
Morning...they were brawling on the fence at 3am the previous morning right outside my bedroom window...
He was grunting and she was screaming it honestly sounds like someone is being murdered...it makes you blood run cold until you work out who and what it is..
I love them and protect them at any cost, but that is really pushing it..
have you tried offering them a bowl of beer in the evening?
Ahh no need they get high on the eucalyptus... never seen a Koala with a cold yet..but geez you can smell where they have been..
For some reason they seem to pee on my letter box quite abit..
The smell is enough to knock you on your back...
Not my photo...when you are on eucalyptus you just hang around sleeping..
no wonder they're up all night...
And so is the whole neighbourhood..
They are not very considerate citizens..
They are loud, known party animals, can turn aggressive, grunt and scream, wee and poo everywhere and generally create mayhem when they walk into shops or down the main street in town..even create car accidents as people avoid hitting them...
But we wouldn't be without them..
Sounds to me like cats "doing it".
Ahh nope... Koala's leave cats for dead when they start brawling...
have you tried exploding bottle rockets? I used those to change the roosting patterns of starlings when I was a kid...
Morning... fireworks are illegal here, they were banned years ago..
No I would never do them any harm and they are only cranky a few times a year..so we just put up with it.. it's actually nice to know they are around..
If the females don't want anything to do with male she will move out to the thinnest branches that will support her weight...but not support his, so she is safe..
I wouldn't park my car under the tree they were up...
Ahh no unless you want your car smelling like eucalyptus trees..
are they like sacred cows in india? free to wander anywhere in oz without fear of being eaten?
Hi, I'm a Quokka and a friendly little critter, people just luvs me 'cept the one that I bite and they died of rabies. Come on let's go wrestle some croc's.
good grief. is there anything on that rock that isn't blood thirsty or venomous?
Arvo...cause there are...heaps...
Ummm.....errr.... don't rush me, I am thinking....ahhh nope that one bites...lets see something soft, furry and harmless... nope nothing springs to mind..
We love our rock, rocks rule, just like Vegemite..
it's a good rock... ...
The 60 gallon cube project is ongoing. On Saturday I got the substrate and hardscape in.
On Saturday I put in the epiphytes - anubius and narrow leaf java fern - and then filled it up to cycle.
It was looking good on Monday morning!
On Tuesday during my lunch I had gotten a delivery of additional ceramic media and decided to toss a couple of bags into the sump. Lucky for me that I did because there was a leak in a seam. So I had drain the tank, put all the plants back into the bucket and take the tank down. It's sitting empty in a corner now. Lesson learned - don't buy used tanks on FB.
The good news is that, as I said above the project is ongoing. Petco had a 60 gallon frameless cube that I picked up right away. I drilled it last night and I'll be working on that over the weekend again.
At least for you it's not an "ever-ending story", cause you also have an interest in TV series, and I would imagine some other things as well.
If the new one turns out as good as the ''leaker'' it's going to be a beauty.
Well I had the hardscape all back in Friday night. Saturday morning I added the plants and started to fill it, but the wood floated and everything broke apart. So I drained it and started again. Saturday into Sunday the wood floated breaking it all apart again. I think I have it set now. I will fill it tonight after work. If this doesn't work I'm not going to do it another time.

And since today is Lantern Festival, marking the end of the New Year Spring Festival, one of my favourite photos taken about 16 years ago in Chongqing.
What type of haircut does the little kid have? It looks like a cross between a Mohawk, a Yul Brenner, and the Little Rascals...
It's a "We don't need a barber for a little kid" cut.
Sitting on top of the world. A male cardinal and it's Feb so the buds are coming out on the trees, they will be in bloom in a few weeks.
Photo by our local ''pro'' photographer.
Arvo..great photo..
AI is a paradigm shift in editing.
Are you having fun doing it?
It can be addictive because it doesn’t require a unique setting, just any mundane photo will do. I had to stop and walk away for a while because I was spending too much time doing it.
A while ago I posted a challenge for members to edit to improve a photo I posted, and asked them to post a photo that the rest of us could edit to attempt to improve it. There wasn't much interest shown, but editing is fun and rewarding.
Sorry I missed that, but challenge belatedly accepted 😁
FANTASTIC!!!
Well, the kid's haircut is better...LOL
I have to agree with that.
Well, I thought that photo was pretty good. When A.Mac saw it the first time I ever posted it a long time ago, he called it "a magazine cover", so I didn't mean editing to change a GOOD photo, but when I posted the challenge I used an example of a fairly lousy photo that COULD be improved by editing. It was a challenge to change a really bad photo into a really good one.
To give you and others the opportunity of show your skills, should I do a new challenge it the beginning of next weekend's article?
However, you DID change a really bad haircut into a good one. LOL
To give you and others the opportunity of show your skills, should I do a new challenge it the beginning of next weekend's article?
BY ALL MEANS, YES!
Okay, will do.
Thanks to all; see you Thursday night.
