The finches are in a romantic mood, it's spring and love is in the air.
The photos were taken at the Butterfly Rainforest in Gainesville by our resident pro photographer from Stone Creek.

I love the first photo, G.
me too, G2...
the 2nd picture has really grown on me. what effects did you use on it? based upon your past work, I'm wondering what those types of renditions might be like, especially with that prominent pink tree right out in front...
Thanks, Kavika.
Thanks much.
I took a lot of liberties - artistic license - with the colors in that photo. Although I have seen photos of that scene with the tree pink at a different time of year, in my original photo it is green. I did hesitate before posting that version because the wall is actually a very beautiful brown, but I experimented with a few different colored versions that I like so I thought what the heck and posted it. This Zen rock garden is the most famous in Japan. It is at a temple in Kyoto, an amazing ancient city where we spent 9 days as part of our trip to Japan.
This is my original photo -

The sand represents the sea and the rocks represent islands. Japan is, of course, an island nation.
Here is a different view -

This is a photo from the internet showing most the rock garden and a pink tree.
Both kinda misty, very creative - bet the LensCulture judges would like them.
A random photo from last night's aquarium feeding...

Yum...lunch!!..
I like take away KFC..
"bring them to the throne, lay them at my feet..."
You did a super job with that aquarium, and a great shot of that bird.

Spring?!
I don't know what you are talking about....
... I thought you said you worked in the mountains... (colorado rocky mountain smirk)
Take your smirk and shove it. You are in Texas right now!
I do. I don't have the same base elevation as you and the snow that reaches the ground is usually heavier. But it is still a mountain. We have a pretty good vertice here of 2,537' and the most Skiable terrain in the state. Whiteface in Wilmington just north of here has a verticle of 3,430', the most in the East. The highest point in New York State is 5,343'. Mt.Marcy (it is out of view to the left in the hoarfrosted trees):
I stopped and took this from my ride one morning recently.
Morning Thomas...now that's a view..
Take your smirk and shove it..
Just about choked on my Vegemite toast laughing..
Always good to start the day with a laugh and smile on one's face..
Great to see how beautiful snow can make a scenery beautiful - snow is something I don't think I'll ever see with my own eyes again.
you'd need to gain a few hundred feet in altitude just to land at the denver airport.
Mountains are mountains... I used to live in Washington on the edge of the Palouse. I remember flying into Spokane and thinking to myself, "I thought Washington was green..." The northern Rockies, the Cascades, the Boston Mountains in Arkansas, the pass heading towards Creede, et al are all spectacular in their own ways. Yes, some mountains are much larger than others, some are very old and others relatively young. All of them should make us take a bit of time and just consider how they came to be and the immensity and scale of the time involved in their genesis. Not to feel smaller, but to adjust ones perspective to a more realistic scale.
one of the reasons I like to be surrounded by majestic vistas...
... like the rest of the civilized world.
Morning...
When only the best will do..
A smiling shark. Must have just made a killing.
Never tasted it, never want to.
You don't know what you are missing..😁
bitey's looking up to the surface for an inflatable red raft with arms and legs dangling from it ...
I was to quick for him..red goes faster..😁
A spectacular view! I recently read that Disney was looking to acquire some ski resorts around Vale...
What a beautiful view.
Thanks, Buzz.
Here is another
Kind of hazy in the distance. Might be my fault, I was using my phone and I couldn't see the screen all that well
Morning Thomas...you certainly do have a great work space...sure beats looking at a brick wall..
I can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance (or are they low-lying clouds?).. Here are some snowcapped mountains in the distance that I saw when I was up on the sacred Buddhist Mount Emei.

The dawn of a new day. Speaking of which grey, overcast and breezy here this morning...
The garbos (garbage collectors) have just been so better go and get the bin before it gets blown across the road..
Hello all....
I haven't posted anything in this group in some time. I recently ran across a poem that I created several years ago at a time that America, as well as a few others, were going through some very serious conflicts, not only abroad, but, also here at in the US.
It was said that a leader of an enemy country stated that the American flag was nothing but a senseless rag. It was this statement that prompted me to write this poem......
G'day Raven...was just thinking of you the other day and hoping all was well on your side of the world..
Hi shona,
Thank you for thinking of me, things are progressing slowly, still dealing with some side effects of the Chemo and radiation treatments, but, otherwise all is well. We've seen some very unusual weather here is So Cal, and our lakes, rivers and lakes are full to overflowing from all the rain and snow storms this winter,. And April feels more like Winter than Spring with the continued cold wet weather. They say we won't see any drought here for at least 2 years, which is good news.
Hope all is well in your area.
Hope things go well and improve
Thank you very much, charger. (smile)
Morning..yep all good down here..I see the specialist today for blood test results and go for a bone strengthener infusion up the hospital in 1.5 hours time.. only takes 30 minutes..with a bit of luck I will score morning tea...
I was a lucky one no reaction with chemo other than my hair falling out or the radiation...
We are the opposite it's very dry here for this time of year.. everything is still brown and crispy but we have had some showers.. surprising how quick it will turn green again..
Best wishes for a speedy recovery,
My hopes that you are as comfortable as possible in your recovery.
Hope all goes well for you and you are as comfortable as possible.
I can completely relate to your circumstances as my wife is on a new chemotherapy: the blood tests show progress but the side effects are significant. Wishing you well.
Morning..yep all done and dusted with the bone strengthener..only takes 30 mins and I scored morning tea...scones and a cuppa...
Blood test results are still not in they seem to drag their feet lately...last report was still no signs of myeloma hopefully this one will be the same..five years has now clicked over and this is the time when things start going pear shaped..so will just take it as it comes..not on any medication at the moment so I am happy about that...
The sun has come out so it is time for a walk...so all good here..🦘
These photos were taken at the Butterfly Rainforest in Gainesville, FL about 40 minutes from our house. Our pro photographer in Stone Creek took the photos.
Arvo...they are really great photos..
Certainly don't see the number of butterflies around now like we did when we were kids..
My favourite is the Ulysses butterfly found up in Queensland..they are quite large and a beautiful blue..
Not my photos..
... in one of it's more docile moments?
A stunning butterfly, shona.
the last picture looks like a butterfly from hell...
Nah...it hasn't developed fangs yet..😁
I've never seen one like in the bottom photo before. (Kavika's photos)
Or the blue one Shona posted.
Thanks to all!
