My wife has been obsessed with rock picking lately so we've been to the beach a few times now. Sunday was particularly cold and windy. There wasn't much beach to access in our favorite spot.

For those following my fish keeping hobby - I lost 2 of the new yellow labs on Sunday evening and another 2 Monday morning. I don't know why, but everything seems to be okay now and no lost fish since.

Morning evil...rock picking?? Is that collecting rocks etc??

Looks a pretty rough beach and the water is rather brown...stirred up sand after a storm or pollution?

Sad about your fish but they can be finicky things at times and cark (die) it at the drop of a hat..

Yes. My wife is obsessing over a new hobby (we were back out there yesterday). Right now they all go into bowls and jars, but it won't be long before she starts tumbling, cutting and polishing them as well.

It's all a red clay base here under the sand.

About your fish losses, a long time ago I posted my story of my one experience about keeping an aquarium with fish.  I had 4 goldfish, one of which was coloured black (and I don't mean this to be a racist story), and I did feed them.  One day I woke up to see only three fish, and "Blackie" was a little bit fatter.  Then there were only two and eventually only one very fat black goldfish.  I don't think he was a piranha, but I decided that keeping fish was obviously not my game.

Our local iris society had its annual iris show on Saturday.  Here are some of the exhibits (subject to my interpretation).

Probably the most interesting photograph I ever took; an old washtub I keep in my backyard became a resting spot for this newborn fawn.

After taking his first few, shaky steps down the slope of my backyard, he paused to rest … where and as you see.

I have posted this in the past, but, for anyone seeing it for the first time … enjoy it.

Morning...and an absolute gorgeous photo...can tell it feels safe and protected.. lucky to have that in your backyard..

The fozzies out the front have done a bunk for the time being..

Usally disappear around this time of year..may move into thicker bush as protection from the elements.

At least I don't have to put up with grunting and screaming through the night...

I've seen this photo many times and is, in fact, my favorite photo of your Mac. It has that special ''something'' about it. Innocence, charm how close animal and man really are, and just the sheer beauty of nature.

Well done, once again Mac and to the fawn, the circle remains unbroken.

Morning Sandy...no not the news we ever want to hear, but we are not immune to it..

My country is rocked with the mindless and absolute horror of what one individual will do..but I for one, am glad he no longer walks this earth...

Morning...yes it is very sombre here at the moment as the country comes to grips with this horrendous situation..

Just can't fathom it at all to be honest..seems the murderer did have psychiatric problems..at least his parents have supported the police woman who shot him dead..they are just as horrified as the rest of the country..

It's a very overcast and gloomy morning here and we have had gentle rain... seems rather fitting for the mood at the moment..

So much damage that one sick individual is capable of - makes the whole world a sadder place.  Maybe mental illness needs more attention and more funding, and more people willing to report when the signs of terror show in an individual.  People are much too secretive about it when it is their own family - and so many people then have to pay the price.

More funding, especially.  Mental health services are very difficult to obtain in many areas here, even if one has the means financially.

Morning..yes true...but it all depends if the individual wants the help...

Seems he went off his meds and then moved from Queensland to New South Wales so must have decided he didn't...to everyone's detriment..

She was critical...the whole country can breathe again..

Just so sad her Mum didn't make it..🥀🥀
