One of Stone Creek cattle egrets is looking for a herd to join. We have hundreds of them if not thousands since we are surrounded by cattle and horse ranches.
It's an interesting bird you'll see hundreds of them in the pasture with the cattle, riding on the cattle's back and a couple of pound bird walking among the 800 lb cattle like they are part of the herd.
Does your camera have a sufficient telephoto lens setting to get photos of that - the bird on a cow's back could be a prizewinner - you could call it The Cowbird Rides Again.
I have a cell phone camera which is the latest one available. The telephoto option is pretty good and I'm sure that a person who is more of a photographer than I am could get even better photos than I get.
What I've noticed with the birds is at times you cannot get anywhere close to them and at other times you can get fairly close to them, it seems to have something to do with how the cattle react to a human around them.
Was ANZAC day here y'day..a very strong and powerful bond between Australia, New Zealand and Turkey, who in WW1 was our enemy..
It was ours and the Kiwis baptism of fire in a losing battle at Gallipoli against the Turks..
Due to a huge stuff up by the Brits we lost thousands back in 1915, but it has forged an unbreakable bond between our three countries which to this day the three of us still have the greatest respect for...
Many countries don't grasp or understand how we can celebrate this event, but for our ANZACs a legion was born which we carry through to this day..
Where it all started.. Gallipoli, Turkey.. April 25th 1915..
I have the highest respect for my Commonwealth brethren of Australia and New Zealand, but the only Turkey I have respect for is what people eat at Thanksgiving. I had a good friend in Toronto who was Armenian.
In 1990 when I was living in Australia the government arranged for a plane load of Gallopili vets flow to Turkey on the 75th anniversary of the battle and to meet with their old enemy the Turk survivors. It was a moment to remember, all of Australia watched the ceremonies on TV. It was quite a sight to see once enemies in one of the hardest battles of WWI embracing and reliving that battle as friends.
Names like ''Lone Pine'' will stir the memories of all ANZACS and Turks.
The Battle for Lone Pine: Four Days of Hell at the Heart of Gallipoli.
Or, John Simpson Kirkpatrick and his donkey who saved 300 ANZACS.
Red and I were fortunate to see the plane off from Sydney and when it returned.
Open your mind and become one with the universe and you will be a part of something far greater than just yourself. At least, according to the gurus...
I recently read something about the Earth's rotation slowing, but it was indicated to be a very very minute slowing. Maybe what made me think of that is when a three day weekend seems to have extended itself into a four day weekend.
Show your creative POWER.
That is beautiful and I love the Hendrix quote.
Gsquared spoke for me as well on both counts.
great effect and colors amac!
please don't forget to vote up this article art lovers...
We get it!

Really cool layering.
Thanks, Dig.
To coin a phrase, "A rose by any other photographer is still a rose":
Pretty.
Thanks. The LensCulture judges obviously had a different opinion.

For some reason I can't open your photo - it came from this source: scontent-mia3-2.xx.fbcdn.net
How about now?
Okay, thanks, what did you do to make it visible for me? Anyway, it's an interesting photo - looks like a capital "S" mirror image.
Just downloaded it to docs and then posted it

Different time, different war, different values...re the Armenians..not our battle..Gallipoli was and Turkey has our and my respect.
It's not every country that has encouraged and welcomed their enemy back on their home soil to the extent Turkey did and has for the Anzacs.
The dawn service is beamed live from Gallipoli across Australia and New Zealand each year...
I don't expect other people from other countries to understand or grasp that or what it means.. it's not their history.. it's ours...
I have been to Turkey and when people found out we were Australians or New Zealanders one of the first things they would say..
My grandfather might have fought your grandfather in the war...you are family..
Can't think of to many countries where ordinary folk off the street would welcome you and say that....
Well, as the saying goes, 'different strokes....'
I cleaned and rescaped the 20g betta tank last weekend.
I moved the plant that was growing emersed from here to the 60g and added a variegated peace lily.
I also added a persian shield plant to the office shallow tank.
I'll bank that it's no prank to thank a rank tank.
Morning Evil..I will clean the tank for you...no probs..
Too big, could eat the whole tank. Try a piranha instead.
Obviously not my image.
That's your pet?
LOL, no, that's just a pussy. THIS is my pet...
Groan..that is so over kill..
Here this is all you need..meet irukandji jelly fish..big as your thumb nail and you are dead in approx 30 minutes..
Ideal for fish tanks..nope not my photo..
Not getting anywhere near that one..

Morning...what a magnificent evening and reflections..
notice how far the photographer is from the water's edge. you'd be right at home in florida...
But, but where is the excitement in that??
Nah you have to standing in the water... where is your sense of adventure?
it kept going the last time I had to sprint to save myself. I haven't seen it since...
this cat probably doesn't have more than 2 or 3 lives left, if that ...
Universal truth (although not necessarily the case).

Being a very miniscule part of the universe I have the right to have the opinion that Gracie IS the best dog.
Immodestly … I do agree. My dawg, Gracie.

maybe someday I'll figure out how to cut and paste my own pictures...
which this is, taken about 16 years ago...
The ''arch of the day''....
Morning Vangy...oh wow where was that taken??
lake powell, utah/arizona border.
That is a very nice photo.
thanks, I have others that make that place seem infinite, and remind me how very small and insignificant I am...

my nehru jacket was red with a black, green, and gold paisley design, but I didn't have the hair length in the 60's to pull off the look...
As long as your guru wore a flowing white robe... instant karma.
Morning... amazing what you can do with bed sheets..
don't let some karma run over your dogma...
I know there will be a second opinion. Still, my 2 cents.

Unless they happen to taste good. My 2 cents.
I only eat the ones that have swallowed the hook, everybody else goes free.
OK, kids one more time around the yard then we can all jump in the lake.
somebody get a box for those quackers ...
It must be really tame, you had to be very close to it to get that photo.
It's duck season here..😁
It's always duck season in our kitchen. I actually made a cheese omelette with 2 duck eggs for breakfast this morning.
I recently read something about the Earth's rotation slowing, but it was indicated to be a very very minute slowing. Maybe what made me think of that is when a three day weekend seems to have extended itself into a four day weekend.
It is I who have slowed down.
Thanks to all, back Thursday.
