Bring it!
I will, and thanks for another trip upon your magic swirling ship, and an absolutely BEAUTIFUL photo of a fish that has just caused hunger pains in my stomach because my wife will be bringing home fish for lunch an hour or so from now.
It looks like it has many sharp, very tiny teeth in its mouth.
Yes, all species of trout have teeth, including brown, bull, rainbow, and brook trout. So, the question becomes, “What type of teeth do trout have?”
In addition to sharp recurved teeth growing on the upper (maxillary) jaw and lower (mandible) jaw, these trout have two rows of movable vomerine teeth protruding from the roof of their mouth.
Vomerine teeth divide the nostrils, and trout use these teeth in cooperation with their tongues to manipulate and hold on to prey items such as baitfish, frogs, large insects, and crayfish. All trout are entirely carnivorous at all stages of life.
Trout don’t have molars, incisors, or fangs. Their denticulation is made up primarily of canine teeth, which includes the vomerine teeth.
Trout don’t lose and regrow rows of teeth like sharks, but they can regrow a tooth if it’s somehow lost or pulled-out.
Thanks for that post-- very interesting!
Morning... that's not teeth..these are teeth..
No way in hell is that my photo...
could those be pieces of inflatable red raft on mr shark's bottom row of teeth?
Ahhh nope..he just missed me by that much..
LOL. Your comment reminded me of what another Australian said...in the movie Crocodile Dundee.
And so, a little bit of this and a little bit of that:

Where is everyone?
Morning...I was sleeping..
I had the privilege of visiting the mass grave site of Titanic victims in Halifax, Nova Scotia last weekend. It was a sobering moment, particularly having arrived there by cruise ship. The unknown child in the photo was not identified until 2007, through DNA investigations.
I had never heard about that cemetery, but then although I've been all across Canada westward, I never got past Montmorency Falls in Quebec eastward, even though I've been all the way down the American east coast. Is it because this is the last weekend article before Hallowe'en that you chose to post a macabre topic? Thanks for telling us about that place.
It’s because it was fresh in my mind, having just returned from there last Sunday. My wife and I have attended multiple Titanic symposiums in the past. It’s a pretty fascinating topic.
Morning Hal..must be a very moving place as I have seen it on quite a few documentaries on tv..
So many lost souls and a rather fitting place for some of the ones they found...
Looks a lovely cemetery..
And the subject of two very good movies, and I don't know how many documentaries.
Many thanks for an outstanding photo essay.
I worked a little on the 50g lowboy last weekend adding the ficus ginseng and some mosses. Still work to do.
.
Is there enough interest in freshwater fishkeeping around here to start a group?
Not me, I prefer catching and eating them.
I cleaned my last fish tank 25+ years ago ... ... but I'd still rather stare at a fish tank than a TV.
I got so excited seeing the Brown Trout photo that you posted that I remembered the time that I caught one so big that the photo of it weighted 5 lbs.
Sounds like a fisherman's tale.
OK, so I exaggerated a bit, the photo was only 4 lbs. geez buzz I am a fisherman after all and all fisherman are liars cept you and me and I’m not so sure about you any more.
Morning...you mean ones like this brown trout??
We grow them big down here..this one is from NZ a world record...
44lbs...not my photo...sushi anyone?
It's absolutely a requirement for fishermen, when having a photo of themselves holding a fish they had caught, to hold it at arm's length in front of themselves so the camera will exaggerate the size of the fish, except for me , from the time I was a young teenager,,,,,
... to the time I was a lot older and had a lakeside chalet as a second home....
... uh, ... how big are the worms?
Ummm well you just had to ask that didn't you..😬
I am not sure about NZ but here we have Gippsland giant earthworms..what can I say..they are a threatened species and only found in Gippsland..the other side of Victoria thank goodness..
And they think everything is bigger in Texas..🤣
Not my photo..think I would pass handling it..🤢
probably wouldn't take too kindly to a hook running it thru I reckon ...
Morning...we have many bottle brushes coming out in flower in Australia at the moment with it being Spring..there are many assorted colours from red to white..
This one really caught my eye colour wise.. nectar eating birds love them as do bees..
That's a VERY pretty colour. Are they in your garden?
Arvo..no I have red ones..these are at my Mum's care home..I saw them in the garden and the Honey eater's were having a field day..
A New Holland honey eater..
I will be right there!
Arvo..and you would be more than welcome..
don't let her lure you into the ocean ...
Morning..geez spoil sport..at least it is one way to get your 15 minutes of fame..our snappies love tasty tourists..
My photo...yeah right..
I don't want to be on the TV news, so I only surf/swim where there's plenty of shark biscuits on rafts ....
Morning... like that shark biscuits on rafts..what a ripper..
You just got to know when to dodge them..it keeps you on your toes and you become a very good swimmer..fast..
the oz slang dictionary defines shark biscuits as kids at the beach ...
Also commonly referred to as burley..
I need a copy of your oz translator ...
This one I took in 2007 and is Called "Jamie's Church"...

Arvo... another beautiful photo..
Is there a story behind the name Jamie's church..have a feeling there must be..
It is morning here, so I will say Good Morning, Shona.
I was living in Southwest Missouri at the time and went to NY to work a little and play a little. While I was there my friend took me on a tour of his workplace, which happened to be located at the mountain that this picture was taken from. While we were standing at the top of the mountain we were discussing his recent divorce, during which a local pastor had offered solace through church attendance. He replied to the pastor, "I work at my church." While he was recounting this story, I was wandering around taking pictures and he was gesticulating, opening his arms wide as if to encompass the whole scene, "This," he said, "Is my church."
When I returned to Missouri I had the picture printed on very, very nice photographic paper (thank you, Mysty!) at a very large scale (it was over two feet long). I then matted it, made a nice frame for it out of old oak barnwood, and sent the whole thing to him for Christmas.
So, there you go! A story.
Morning..what a fantastic thing to do and I am sure he would treasure that picture always..
When you show a photo of nature and speak of a church, it makes me think that one is........
I sell this one a lot. The state of Pennsylvania was going to drain this lake about 10 years ago; Governor Ed Rendell saved it!

Ain't fall wonderful?

It's not hard to fall for Fall in America and Canada, but it's a stretch to make a 3 day weekend into a 4 day one so I'm going to end it now.
Thanks to all who contributed their images. This article is now locked and will be repeated next weekend.
