Welcome back.
That ain't Gracie.
You're right! Mac, where is Gracie?
The Springer Spaniel named "Vermont" was my dog long ago and long gone.
Here's Gracie.

We need to pause
For prints of paws
But Oh, those eyes
They tell no lies
A look so sad
Hope that's not bad
Their colour's brown
Her fur's like down
She's still the best
Of all the rest.

Mac, where is that covered bridge. A long time ago when I was wee I lived in Chester County (Nottingham). Down the road from us was a covered bridge that crossed the Octorara Creek. It was the border between Chester and Lancaster countie. Unfortunately, the bridge was unstable so they tore it down and replaced it with a concrete bridge
Many a covered bridge in Pa.
Macs reminds me of one I would often canoe under in Bucks County, though I have been to the one he pictured in Wissahickon Creek. My favorites are in Upper Bucks County. Covered Bridges are just tunnels, without the earth, as not always receptive to two way traffic, as they often lack the girth.

Here are a couple of shots I took on a trip to Auch, France in the early 2000's - I hadn't looked at them in years until this morning.
They don't build cities like this anymore that last centuries and centuries
It must have rekindled some good memories to have looked at them again. As for whether more current cities might or might not last as long, we won't be around to know for sure.
Indeed my first trip to that part of France, the people, the food, the scenery all were great
As for Europe I've been to England, Wales, Switzerland, Spain and Gibraltar but I regret that I missed France and Italy.
A Spiritual Moment in Time

A title aptly illustrated, or is it an image aptly titled?
Either way it is stunning.
Great capture of a special moment and a great message in the title
This is a photo of my great grandmother taken in 1870 with two of her granddaughters. I believe that the photo was taken in Devils Lake ND and her name is Cecilia Marie Paul-Hamelin Blackbird. She is Metis and a direct descendent of John Assaine Little Shell first hereditary chief of the Pembina Ojibwe Reindeer Dynasty.
You have an amazing treasure of ancestral photos. The only ancestral ones I have are of my paternal great-grandfather, maternal grandparents, my parents and some of their siblings.
I quick shot I took of the forest tank at the beginning of the week. I put a few more plants in there from another tank.
It doesn't look as nice as the other tanks, but the 75g tank has babies in it now. They hide in the rocks...
I lost the orange betta fish in the 20g cube. I have no idea what happened as I can find no evidence of it. I have to assume it jumped enough to land somewhere behind and underneath the bench... I'm working on doing a new scape for it and I'll put the new black crowntail betta in there with a small group of checkered barbs. They have all been together for week in the 16g and doing well. I will probably get them moved over tomorrow. I need some specific plants for that mid-ground area yet.
The office paludarium is continues to baffle me, but the customers love it.
Morning evil...all your tanks have been stunning and you really do have a great talent..thank you for sharing them with us..
Umm something didn't eat your orange beta fish?...it's just when things disappear in the water here we just naturally think something ate it/them..can't help it.. no miniature snappies in the water?? 🦈🐊🐢
ugh, is there any safe body of water on that sandbar you live on?
Arvo.. cause there is.. there's heaps.
There is ahh, no forget that, well maybe.. nope...hmm..umm don't rush me...I think you are safe with a puddle...but...
so basically, any body of water contained in porcelain ...
Nope...not even there..
Glad they aren't my photos..
... most civilized countries would've figured out how to secure their plumbing from reptiles.
Morning... oh that's easy..guys just need to put the seat and lid down..
Not hard but...
There were some cherry shrimp in there... lol
girls always want to over accessorize the basic idea ...
I'm familiar with snaking a drain, but not with an actual snake ...
I once got the great idea to breed bettas when I was 16 and bought a female. she killed her boyfriend and every other fish in my 3 tanks. I put the tanks away, because I had developed another more urgent teenage hobby, and didn't set them up again until after I was married. I set up a low maintenance tank again for my 2 sons in their room. then they talked their mother into buying some tiny albino frogs for their fish tank that ate meal worms, a lot of meal worms. then they ate all the fish and learned how to escape the tank. I got rid of the tanks.
I could see one of the babies in front of the rocks. As for the orange beta, do you remember the story I told about my only attempt at keeping goldfish?
You could have your own business building/decorating aquariums, E…..
They are beautiful.
Thank you. If I were in a larger market that might work. It might be nice to do enough to pay for my hobby, but I don’t want to turn it into work.
Perhaps when you retire, you can use it as a fun hobby and make $ on the side.
years ago I met a guy thru one of my golfing friends that used to lease aquarium setups and also do maintenance contracts with local businesses. he started out maintaining aquariums as a side gig a couple decades ago and then after a few years and a lot of accounts later, he ended up quitting his day job when the side gig started paying better. he ended up cashing out when he retired and it didn't look like he was hurting for money.
Even it it's just selling a few plants.
They're a fish's paradise.
Yet Another Spiritual Moment.
Etherial Buttercups

Arvo...it beams out quiet reflection and peace..
Very ethereal.
The lone fisherman, Ormond Beach, Florida.
Morning...nice looking beach..even I would swim there..
There have been reports of sharks around Florida lately, so you'd feel right at home. LOL
It's a great feeling to be doing that - no distractions, being alone with your thoughts and concentration on your line. I know the feeling and I bet you do too. In my case it was with Heineken in hand.
How about this beach, Shona? The first one was on the Atlantic Ocean side this is on the Gulf of Mexico side.
Judging from what I've seen so far as Shona's beach preferences, it could be too crowded.
Arvo...yep one person every 100 kilometres suits me fine..😁
If I want the place to myself I just yell..shark..works everytime..
My favourite beach near me and only 20 minutes drive away...
It certainly is a beautiful beach.
Ahh but we have our secret weapon shark repellent..
that stuff only works when the sharks taste it, after the first bite into an ozzy ...
Morning..he will be right..he has another leg...and he is tough..
It's when half a body washes up then we get concerned....
... uh, which half?
Well, it's beginning to look a lot like winter...
"snow's here..."
Arvo...yes well looks nice ummm, crisp and friggin freezing springs to mind...
Wonder if I could use my surf mat to go down the hill?? I could start a new trend..
About 15 F. Not that cold.
As long as you didn't have to turn. No offense, but that doesn't look as if it would be all that steerable on a snowy surface, and trees hurt...
Why not? It would be like a toboggan. And if you're worried about Thomas' warning, if you're headed for a tree, just roll off the mat and you'll stop.
-9c...you have got to be kidding..any self respecting Aussie would be heading for the tropics..yeeesshhh..
Yes you can steer them quite well they have handles just shift your weight etc and it will turn..
We have to do that to avoid running into Jaws...and yep red certainly does go faster..😁
Looking at that photo what went through my mind was "Oh, for a pair of skis".
Calling this one finished. Good one. See you Thursday!
uh oh, looks like the lock fell off amac ...
