Returning from Important Family Time on this Creative Arts Three Day Weekend
Like the water in a mountain stream, THE PASSAGE of TIME flows towards us … and then passes us by.

Good evening and many thanks to Buzz for keeping things going for the last two articles.
You're welcome as always. Watching and listening to the flow of water is one of the most pleasant of experiences, for which your images are happy reminders.
welcome back amac ...
Thank you, greatly appreciated.
it's just not the same without you here ...
And thank you for voting up a backhanded slap.
I took it as a compliment not as an oblique criticism, no more than if some one receiving kudos for taking over in my absence, would be a criticism of me in my presence.
History indicates the real intent of the comment.
So, when I opened the article with the words, "Good evening and many thanks to Buzz for keeping things going for the last two articles," what I was actually intending was to "backhanded slap" MYSELF?
"Things equal to the same things are equal to each other." (Euclidian Axiom)
it's a sincere comment, amac, and I'm not at all concerned what others may think about it ...
No, because that's what you meant. As I said, if you were aware of the history here you would know that the real meaning of the comment in this case was camouflaged as a compliment to you, one never stated before when the circumstances were the same. My comment to you indicated indirectly that I was aware of the real intent of the comment - you were just an innocent bystander.
Morning... can't beat the sound of a flowing creek or the waves washing up on the shoreline at the beach...
That's actually my photo for a change...
looks like you need to wade out a couple km's just to catch some curls ...
Good photo. Would you like me to enlarge it to make the bird more visible?
Go for it...
Nah it is not really a surf beach but occasionally when the swell is right it's not bad..
A guy got slightly chomped on there the other day.. couple of small cuts.. probably a wobbegong shark pretty harmless... nothing drastic..
Not my photos...
so the guy was an unknowing sharkuterie board?
Yesterday was Spring Equinox here, and today is recongnized as the first day of Spring. Spring greets us with the beauty of the flowers.
.
Walking through the fleurs des printemps.
.
Beautiful flowers on the tree
Will you kindly talk to me?
.
The lotus will bloom
.
And water lillies blossom
.
One could sit on that stump to enjoy the day
.
Or walk through a park for a colourful array

Spring Rain photo made me smile.
That's great.
I tried to give it an Impressionist feel.
I really like the last one
I do too. I haven't seen a bad overlaid piece from him yet ...
Thanks.
That one is four layers. I think it turned out pretty nice.
I didn't realize it was 4 layers until you said so. I would have guessed 3 ...
The image from one of them is mostly around the edges.
Buzz
Beautiful pics thanks for sharing.
it is barely spring here (regardless of the calendar) as we had a light snow for while last night, but it is changing to green slowly and friends in the pond and back yard are returning
Thanks, Robert. There was a Canada goose in your yard? Must be migrating back home.
We live a couple miles from the coast of Lake Erie - they are here almost year around in some number
They come to the pond and the woods nearby to have their babies every year
When we had a backyard swimming pool in Toronto a pair of ducks made it their migrating stopover both ways each year. Although the pool at those times (too cold to swim) was covered with a tarp, it still had a pool of water in it.
Not a great picture but this is one of our backyard families from years gone by
These guys like to come around as well
Sometimes I can just sit on the patio with a glass of iced tea and my camera
Are those goslings surrounding mama goose?
Indeed
They have their babies out by our pond and train them every spring
Wow!!!
guppy serial killer ...
Let us resume posting images & related commentary, shall we.
Morning....this is baby he is a magpie from a family of 5..
He rolls up every morning and taps on the window for some mince steak..
Then all his rellies roll up, mum, dad, and two aunts...
The Maggies have been here coming up 40 years and nest out the front each year..
They are brilliant carolers...
smart birds, and the perfect neighbors ...
Errr, ummmm, weeellll...they do attack you at nesting time and are quite vicious...
But if you get to know them they leave you alone..and they will remember you if you try to do them harm...
It's a rite of passage here to get swooped..
nah, they just don't like helmet wearing dags on bikes ...
They love to attack Posties for some reason..
That is such a great privilege, for Maggie and you.
Just saw this Spring-time photo on the China Daily, as a reminder of the reason I call China a magical land.
Plum Blossom Bay Scenic Area in Dafeng district of Yancheng, Jiangsu province, on March 15, 2025. ZHOU SHEGEN/FOR CHINA DAILY
That's amazing.
Arvo..got rellies down so we are out and about around my town..
Cormorant...
Dahlias in the Botanical gardens..
Work boat in from Bass Strait..
My hyacinths smell as good as they look.
You got nothing around the grape hyacinth...
Arvo... what a lovely display..can almost smell the perfume from here...
Thanks, shona. I planted them not long after moving in, and over the last 3 or 4 years, the bulbs have really multiplied.
I am sorry, AMac, I have not been snapping pictures.. Too busy.
It is getting warm, and teasing us of spring, but the Adirondakers' know, it ain't over yet...
we're barely into blizzard season where I'm at ...
I call bull-shit on that.
Everybody is warming up their golf clubs and taking some practice swings
famous last words of east coast popsicles. put on your shorts, tank top, flip flops, and meet me up on the divide ...
If you pay the airfare, I am there.
Bring it on!
okay, but you're not going to like that 6 foot 1x4 popsicle stick ...
I don't care what it looks like... And does that mean I get airfare? Whhhhooooo-hhoooo
Flip flops.. if you want to speak Aussie it's flipping thongs..
We called them thongs when I was growing up in L.A.
My 90 YO mom says got a really confounded reaction when telling a group of kids at church that she still wears thongs sometimes...
This made me lol...
Crotchety situation.
I still call them thongs, just not in mixed company anymore ...
A nice Autumn day at my favourite beach..
uh oh, nothing left of all the shark biscuits ...
Nah to cold now...down to 20c so that's it for the summer...
If they are keen it is wet suit time..they then become a seal meal for Mr Jaws..😁
don't forget to put some chum in their pockets ...
Looking good ladies & gents! Keep it going.

Another image I have copied from the Chiina Daily. The Spring rapeseed blossoms are so abundant in China.
"People participate in a hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) fashion show in a rapeseed field during an ongoing rapeseed blossom festival in Muba township, Peng'an county, Sichuan province. [Photo by Wang Zemin/For chinadaily.com.cn]"
Fields of rapeseed in bloom is also a common sight around Europe in the spring. I have seen it while traveling in several European countries.
My photos:
1. Rapeseed blossoms up close
2. Beauty emerging from the rapeseed
Arvo...fields of gold in Western Australia... it's is truly spectacular...
Fantastic.
And now for something very Chinese (photos from the China Daily).
A terraced hillside with lots of rapeseed blossoms.
and the sounds of music among the blossoms
A reflection, no matter how long or short the duration of its angle of incidence (including its distance and traveling time from its incoming light source) to where it is seen as such, the phenomenon involves the passage of time regardless of how long or short.
NOTE: What else would you expect from someone with degrees in Science & Fine Arts? (A.K.A. sometimes I cant just "look," I also need to "see" and try to understand).
Or, I can just shut up and post a picture.

'Course, then there's all that light & shadow stuff …
… shutting up now.
LOL, there's a lot going on in that composition amac ...
Is that a boast or a confession?
A little bit of both.
Thanks to all! Back Thursday night.
