typical female, I have no idea what you meant by what just said to me ...

I woke up to snow this morning, but I no longer feel the need to shovel snow, since at my age it's already a miracle if I show up anywhere ...

Morning.....

You said you have to dig your car out of snow..well we basically don't get snow here so not a problem for us..

If your car is bogged it means it's stuck can't be moved etc..and you have to be pulled out...eg..the car was bogged up to the bumpers in mud and had to be pulled out by a towie (tow truck)...

Hmmm sounds like you need some Vegemite to kick in the Aussie part of the brain...🦘

Ya bloody bogged mate!!! and not going anywhere.... that's what you would hear here...

Not my photo I would have more brains than drive into that...

thanks for the explanation. I've been watching the bbc and oz videos in my leisure and getting twisted up in cross translations. I learned from the bbc today that a bog was a toilet and that using it was called parking your breakfast, so you can understand my confusion in the continuing evolution, or de-evolution, of the english language from continent to continent ...

Morning...The bog is also referred to as a dunny (bathroom) here..just to confuse you more..😁

Also you can bog into your food..there is a saying here..

2,4,6,8 bog in don't wait...other words eat up don't wait...

Pretty.  Is that a trillium?  If so it's Ontario's Provincial flower.

It is, absolutely.  It's what's known as a painted trillium. This one from the internet is from Barrie, Ontario, a town about 60 miles north of Toronto.

R-C.dc1cbe7a3e33395e0c459f94432e841b?rik=xjzeOgBC1zorcA&riu=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.donkom.ca%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2020%2F03%2Fpainted-trillium.jpg&ehk=FgDf67xcEt%2BSTvpHwYvvm8byyHJBW9n2QzlqKTeEWIg%3D&risl=&pid=ImgRaw&r=0

They're wildflowers that blossom in early Spring in ravines and forested areas.

Actually, the wings on the BUTTERFLY are superimposed with the LARKSPUR FLOWER PETAL, a kind of visual metaphor simultaneously showing the butterfly and what it depends upon for its existence.

I often get carried away. with stuff like that.

Morning Mac..hope this finds you and Mrs Mac well..I just came back from Queensland and have now got a ripper case of the flu..it was expected with all the air con and going from cool to warm to cool climates...

My favourite butterfly which I managed to see again in Queensland is the Ulysses butterfly..a gorgeous electric blue colour and they grow quite large..they only live in the tropics so not down here in Victoria unfortunately...

Not my photo...

Hope you are doing well other than the flu which hopefully will run its course soon.

Buzz

I enjoy and embrace many things Canadian -  poutine, maple syrup, Canadian Club, hockey, curling and last but not least the Toronto Raptors

Things may cost a bit more, but I will continue to enjoy the things I like as will many, many citizens of the U.S. and as they say "this too shall pass" (I hope quickly).

As to the geese, my wife and I have spent many a spring afternoon watching them glide around the pond and scare the puppies who come too near the water,

Will they breed there or move on to somewhere else?

On the other side of the street in front of the house, the woods are only about 100 yards from my front door.  We see deer, hedgehogs, rabbits, squirrels and all types of birds from the front porch

Photos taken from roof top bar of our hotel in Sydney the night before we left.

You can see the Opera House and the Sydney Bridge. A huge cruise ship is being moved by tugs as it heads out of Sydney Harbor on it’s way to Melbourne.

The mountain range up Towoomba in Queensland.. stunning place..

It's on the Great Dividing Range that runs for approximately 3,500 kms along the east coast of Australia...

And one of the best flags in the World on top of the Range....

... oh, oh, 2300 metres high, almost 7500 feet. bloody hell, I'm getting light headed just thinking about it. I must be suffering from oxygen deprivation. I better drive west into the foothills, halfway up the first hill to the first exit, turn around and then start breathing pure oxygen as I descend the 600 metres to my home at 1700 metres in the city.

a proper mountain on terra firma has no trees on the summit, let alone any dirt. they've been wind blown off ...
