"We're at this razor's edge, where we can either annihilate ourselves with our fear of technology, or try to endure and prosper," says Seoul-born artist Anicka Yi.

In her work, Yi, who now lives and works in New York, addresses the anxieties arising from the rapid development of machines and AI, and the destiny of society. Her creations explore the possible evolution of people and new forms of life.

In her ongoing exhibition at the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing, Yi shares her thoughts on the interchange between humans and other life-forms in an array of mesmerizing installations.

The exhibition, running until June 16, illustrates her cross-disciplinary approach — which spans biology, philosophy, technology and architecture — and directs the audience to different kinds of intelligence, and the fragility and resilience of life-forms.

I think I'm beginning to become attracted to the unusual.

Finding this at the bottom of the page, with nothing more but one vote up and only my own comment is expected as there is such a lacking in culture around here, save for the culture of political ranting, but so be it.  After all, it is not just The Shadow who knows what lurks most in the minds and hearts of men.

I find this article interesting, though I am not sure what it is I am to understand: Art or interesting new (life) shapes or AI generated 'lifeforms'? I need help with what is being 'transmitted' by these (beautiful/stunning) images.

I don't think she has used AI in her works, but has created them with the thought of what AI might do to partner with the creativity of humans.

Interesting. AI is exciting and I explore it as often as I can think of new questions and 'considerations' to ask! Somebody should put the question to AI: What should the next new lifeform be?  :)

I would ask it who is the best and most qualified choice of American born citizens be for PotUS.  I believe its advice might well be the best.

Funny thing occurred with "Alexa" - it does not project ideas. It turned 'on' - heard my question and then hummed 'off' several times over the question.

Now online AI offers the 'standard fair' of people in public life already: K. Harris, Michelle Obama, J. D. Vance, and Ron Desantis.

I would say Josh Shapiro, but I doubt that Americans will put a Jew in The White House.  I think Joe Liberman was the kiss of death for Mitt Romney and Mitt Romney has been relatively sidelined ever since.  The only way a Jew can get even near The White House is to marry a President's daughter - like Chelsea Clinton or Ivanka Trump.

I like what I know about Josh Shapiro, the governor of Pennsylvania. In the case of Joe Liberman the problem was not his Jewishness. My harbored disapproval of Joe Liberman was that he played the game of drawing out legislation to the ng degree. Since then, Joe Manchin and Kristin Sinema when they knew their party needed their vote critically. Too nerve-racking. Too 'nail-biting' nervous. 'Incredible' amount of drama - those people.

That said, now that a version of unlimited power is vested in the office of the president. . . I am concerned how each new leader will wield it to her or his advantage—people, individually, can be so creative over time. I suspect we will have to be particular and detailed-oriented when we build presidential 'pools' to pull our man or woman out!

IMO the most frightening thing is that your SCofUS contradicted what has been a most basic legal maxim that no man is above the law.  They have enabled what can be in the wrong hands (and IMO that is the present circumstance) the power to destroy your holy democracy.

"Holy" democracy?  Really. Since when?

I will confide here something that I have not found space (opening) to state and acknowledge in discussions: Our SCOTUS, the conservative majority, is attempting to allow the ideological expression of a (conservatively constructed) constitutional document.

That is, they see congress as holding complete control over house and senate 'powers' (the law is what they say it is),  justices as holding complete control over judicial 'powers' (the interpretation of law is what they say it is), and the president as having complete control over the executive branch (the execution of which is what he says it is to be).

We, the people, can see where that can go wrong. And so can liberal justices. In the executive branch.

I'm not sure I get your point.  My use of the word "holy" was sarcasm.

Lieberman ran with Gore & Gore lost because of people in Florida who stopped the vote count & Ralph Nader ran as a third party candidate & won in Oregon!

Two of the Florida fuckers who were involved were current SCOTUS Chief Justice, John Roberts & scumbag Roger Stone!

McCain considered Lieberman as his running mate but Carl Rove nixed it, not just because Lieberman was. Democrat but because he was Jewish. That’s how Sarah Palin got to be McCain’s running mate.

You 'clocked' John Roberts just right.

As for Lieberman, honestly I had no problem with his Jewishness. I did 'grow' to not like him as a politician, because of his long, cringeworthy 'hold-outs' on critical votes. I simply saw little cause for that.

I can certainly understand that his Jewishness was a hindrance to getting the high office of vice-president, because there is always talk about misplaced loyalties over Israel for American Jews. I hear it, but have no strong opinion on the matter. I am open to people who can 'work' through the political processes. Yes, I heard 'it,' the concern rose up again, during Josh Shapiro's run for the vice-president slot under Kamala Harris. (But it turns out there was another set of reasons why he was not selectable internal to the state of Pennsylvania.)
