In Memory of Kavika ~ I Miss My Friend
Red & Kavika
"The Future is Elusive, Even to Those Who Shape It"
Kavika and I spoke briefly about getting together once again, but, it was not meant to be.
Rest in Peace Dear Friend.

'Member Kavika talking 'bout that - your trip and visit.
He and Red thoroughly enjoyed it.

The pond is much like in the lake districts of Ontario.
I love the cormorants image. Beautiful.
I appreciate that and I thank you.
Arvo Amac.....
Your creativity covers both aspects...
Freedom and Peace...
Not my photo, but we are all on the same road...
This is part of a series I was working on the other day. I dedicate it to the memory of our wonderful friend, Kavika.

Arvo G...and very fitting it is...
Thank you, shona.
Yes.
As it is said in our tradition, may his memory be a blessing.
... as well as an inspiration.
Afternoon...
It's ANZAC day here today and it's a rather sombre day.. fitting in some respects as we commemorate us and the Kiwi's landing at Gallipoli in Turkey in WW1...and other battles since..
Kavika and Red were in Sydney in 1990 as the veterans from that campaign were sent to Turkey by the government to once again stand on Turkish soil..it was to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the landing and not many vets were left..they went to the airport to see them off...
I was rather touched that they would do that... ANZAC day would not mean much to anyone other than an Aussie or Kiwi as on that day the legend was born between our two countries...and that holds fast to this day...
But then when Kavika said he to was a veteran it all made sense...it made no difference from which country we came from, he was simply paying his respects to fellow veterans...
I have not forgotten...and thank you from a still broken hearted Aussie...
Lest we forget..
Just some odd photos...

This photo could have stumped me.

you really missed your life's calling G ...
Yeah, I wasted 45 years practicing law. Before, I also played music and wrote haiku and other poetry, but I just couldn't engage in any artistic efforts while I was working because I needed to concentrate on the job. It was the type of work where it was always on my mind and I regularly worked weekends. Now, as a recentIy retired person, I work on art projects almost every day. I've also been writing a bit. I'm not sure I can really play music these days because of the arthritis in my fingers (too painful), but I might try.
You're a Renaissance Man.
Right. About 400-500 years past my time.
And here I was just going to change my name to Leonardo Raffaello.
LOL
It helps the arthritis to play music, exercises those digits and helps to keep them limber
I wish that was the case, but unfortunately, the arthritis in my hands is primarily in the first knuckles (first knuckles from the finger tips) of the second through fifth fingers, so putting any pressure, such as when I was playing my guitar or bass guitar, was extremely painful. If you saw my hands, you would see small bony protrusions that developed in all of the first knuckles. For my thumbs the arthritis is bone on bone in the joints at the base of both of the thumbs and I had injections there. There is no treatment possible for the first knuckles. They do not give injections in the first knuckles. But, it has been several years now, I really miss it, and I might try again and see if it is still too painful.
I haven't played my clarinet, my first instrument from age 8. It's been many years and you have to develop the embouchure, so that probably wouldn't work out too well.
How about something hammered - drums, xylophone, hammered dulcimer?
I'd like to play the xylophone. Fun, but gripping the mallets would probably be real hard on my thumbs.i
One of my very close friends was the greatest drummer ever. He played drums on 6 Grammy Records of the Year in a row in the 60s, 40 number 1 records. Among other things, I negotiated the contract with the publisher for his autobiography.
I've got the answer for you - the harmonica. It's the only musical instrument I have here, having given all mine to my son when I left for China.
OK, maybe I'll start playing the harmonica.
I just remembered that I actually already have a harmonica. It's the smallest one I've ever seen. Only 1 1/2 inches long. Smaller than a Duracell AA battery. I don't remember where I got it. I just tried playing it. It plays four notes.
An ideal instrument for short pieces - not to mention unfinished symphonies, so, I won't mention it, but make a note of it nevertheless.
Mine's a standard size harmonica, and on it I can play aongs like "Oh Suzannah" and even Beethoven's Ode to Joy 4th movement of his 9th Symphony. Not too sure about what you can do with a 4-noter, but shouldn't yours actually be an 8-noter? Wtih a regular harmonica you both "suck and blow", just not simultaneeouslyly. LOL
If I practice I can probably do Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture complete with canons and everything.
Stay tuned.
Even the drums? That would be more entertaining than watching War snd Peace.
Why not. All it takes is practice.

ka-boom! I do love the hot side of the color wheel ...
Arvo... Autumn has arrived here..my grape vine is changing colours...
Wow! You grow your own grapes! Do you make wine or juice or just eat them whole? Are they purple or green?
Morning... neither it's an ornamental grape vine so it doesn't bare fruit...
It's not really warm enough down here to grow grapes but they flourish up in northern Victoria...some of the best grape growing areas of the world as is the wine from that region...
Oh, okay.
as I reckon you've got enough oz critters in your yard already ...
… "it's an ornamental grape vine so it doesn't bare fruit ..."
A frequently used ingredient for DRY wines.
And an opportunity for dry humour. LOL
I have been told I have a dry sense of humor. I have been working on making it more moist.
..
It would be easier to turn dry into wry than to make it moist.
You have a sense of humor?
Do we have a liquidity problem?
No, I’m flush.
Nahhh it's all dried up..😁
Oh no, A.Mac, that word makes me think of a toilet.
Wipe that thought from your mind.
Will only toilet paper do the trick?
Don't squeeze the Charmin.
