I am away with my wife, daughter and grandkids and trying to experience what has been our "normal" (and outstanding) life prior to my wife's hospitalization approximately a month from now.
"Normal" is highly underrated and taken for granted until life circumstances turn uncertain.
Not sure how closely I can monitor this thread but please post creative work and thoughts and I will get back to you all tonight.
Yes indeed it is, Mac. Being able to see one of these adorable little birds sitting that still is a rare treat. I had lots of hummers where I lived before, but, there were always on the move, so seeing this one so still is awesome.
View of a Native American (Crow) and tepees highlighted by a setting sun on the bank of the Little Bighorn River in Montana. Image was taken just below the Custer Battlefield. Photo taken in 1908 by Richard Throssel (Cree Indian).
An great photo, Kavika. The contrasts of the tepees and reflections on the water in the river are awesome. Thank you for sharing it with us. A wonderful touch of realism of their way of life.
Richard Throssel, a Cree Indian, lived with the Crow tribe for a number of years. His photographs of their life and in some instances photos of sacred worship is unmatched by any other photographer.
I can see why his photos are unmatched, he captures not only the reality of their life, but, the beauty in the timing of the conditions of when they were taken that gives them the sense of "being there" as well. These are what makes the difference between a photo and a work of art.

They are both excellent images. The second one is truly outstanding.
Enjoy your time with your family, Mac. I fully understand your situation and how important 'normal' is to the mind and soul.
Your photos make it clear that no matter how dark it may be, one must seek the light.
Enjoy the normal, Your posts are always enjoyed
A hummer in the apple tree...
That's a really great shot EG. The somewhat blurred background and the prominent subject make for as really great combination.
Good use of selective focusing.
An excellent shot departing from the usual hummingbird pic allowing for a fresh anatomical look at the species.

''Twilight's Last Gleaming''
Great photo, Kavika. Love the sunset and it's reflection of the water and cots on the beach.
And one can see exactly why it is called “the magic hour”.
This weeks contribution....
I think that the background really enhances the photo.
Well done RW.
Thank you very much for your kind words, Kavika.
Such beauty, illustrated and enhanced even more by that contrasting frame.
Thank you Buzz.
One of your very best ... which could be said for all of your artwork.
Thank you for your compliment, Mac. It is much appreciated. (smile)
I agree.
Great pictures...love the light and dripping water. Your pictures are always amazing!
A.Mac sets the pace, so night shots it will be:
One of the night views from one of my balconies:
One of my favourite photos - lanterns in Chongqing, celebrating the Lantern Festival:
View of downtown Chongqing from across the Jialing River:
All very beautiful pictures, Buzz. The clarity and detail of the photos are truly excellent.
Very well done.
Thanks, R.W.
Nice array and both visually and psychologically illuminating!
