Beautifull Mac. The contrasts and blending of the primary subject with the accompanying frame work is very well done.
Both artwork show very distinctive 'personalities' and the inner framing makes the primary subject standout from the rest, but, not in an overpowering way.
The one on the top has a very predominant subject, and your contrasting framework lets it stand out, but, at the same time, tends to subdue it so as not to be too domineering.
The subtle and delicate and graceful framework of the second one compliments the peaceful and tranquil aura of the gentle stream.
Excellent work. I for one would like to see more like this.
Thank you very much, Buzz. I try my best to give meaning to Native American artwork in representing various Tribes here in America, their culture, traditions, Spirituality and way of life. My only wish is that others here enjoy them as much as I enjoy creating them.
I posted this over an hour ago and it's disappeared. Here goes again.
This is Prince. Prince lives about 1/4 mile for the animal shelter that I volunteer at. A couple of times a week he wanders down to the shelter to visit.
There are some peacocks who live in the fields near me. I saw a male perched on a "No Trespassing" sign a few years ago and posted it on NV - it was one of those perfect lucky shots.
I had a pair of Peacocks continuously terrorize me why'll I was building a house in Kiln Mississippi, I came very close a few times to finding out what they tasted like. Their owners apologized a few times for their behavior.
Just back on line after an involuntary shutdown (bad storm in the area). Here are a couple of shots that my sister got back in 2005 and that I've worked over a bit to sharpen them up. Can anyone tell us what and where they are?
Also, in keeping with this week's fishing theme, one of my favorite spots on a small lake about five miles from my house.
The land that the Opera House is sitting on is called Bennelong Point. And the general area of the Opera House is called Port Jackson...
I lived two bays down (about a mile) in Elizabeth Bay, known to us locals as EZ Bay. Between us was Farmers Bay with the best pub in Sydney, the Wooloomooloo Inn is located there.
I remember the story about Kavika's "Night at the Opera".
I have saved every one of Kavika's stories, and that one is one of my favorites. I laugh every time I think of it. Only Kavika could get away with something like that, or tell a story about it. LOL!!!
I was going to post a photo of a huge bass that I caught this past summer but the photo weighted 8 lbs so I decided to post one of the smaller ones that I caught.
This is was 6 1/2 lbs. That funny hat off to the left is the world famous fishing buddy of mine, Chucky, or better known as ''Can't Catch Fish''...
This is on Lake Winnibagosh or as us Indians know it, Big Winnie. Of course, there is also a ''Little Winnie''...
Actually back in the day I dated a girl named Winnifred, known as Big Winnie as opposed to her little sister, ''Little Winnie''....
If your job involved photography, I think you would do well.
Thanks, Buzz. (sigh) no not specifically photography - Customer Service (plus my normal IT stuff) for my oldest client. Their long-time CSR is retiring. She split duties with another lady that also does the marketing. Eventually I'll be taking over all the CSR work - going full-time on Oct 1. This is the same company that uses my photos on their website though. LOL!
This is the same company that uses my photos on their website though.
FYI: If you created the photos while on company time, that is, for the company while "on-the-clock so to speak, technically the company could claim the copyrights as its own under the "work-for-hire" distinction; it may not be an issue, but, as an old contract negotiator and familiar with intellectual property technicalities, I thought you might be interested.
If they pick photos that I have done on my own they pay me for the use. If they send me out to take specific photos I get paid for my time. I am putting my copy write info in the meta data now. It's easy to strip out, but it's easy to remove watermarks now too.
Good to know you are compensated for your work; while there is no guarantee that your work won’t be pirated, if you don’t give notification of your copyrights, you potentially increase the risk.
Very interesting concept, Mac. The fishing line image seems to be a bit over sized for the for the fish image so as to appear the dominant subject. Perhaps that is intended. But, all in all, very nicely done. Nice bright colors and a combination of other fish images. Well done!

Actually, the "fishing line" is a spool of thread, a fundamental component of tying the flies (artificial lures) used to attract fish (note the fly sitting atop the spool and the other to the lower left of it. For many fly fishermen, tying their own flies is part of the ritual attached to the sport. The oversized fish is to emphasize the tying.

Ahh...now that you explained it that does make sense. Thank you for the clarification.
I'm a fly fisherperson....I'm a pole and a bopper...eh....er...bobber fisher.
Very interesting. Since it's about fly-fishing, I would have posted a flying fish on it. LOL. I recall eating flying fish while on my honeymoon in Barbados.
I saw some hummingbird photos here, and I thought I'd share one with you folks. Does anyone remember js from NV? She is such a fantastic photographer and she still sends me her great art. This is her photo:
Post your creative works, thoughts, ideas, comments.
Hello? Hello?
Can you hear me now?
Sorry, I was asleep.
Very imaginative fish image, Mac.
For this weeks contribution...
Another beauty, RW.
Thank you, Kavika.
wow. do you not sleep?
Sure...that's where I get my best ideas. Well......sometimes.
Your incorporation of a frame into the whole has inspired me to do something along those lines.

Stunning. I wish I could do what you two can do.
Your subjects are meaningful, and the frames are unique. Well done. As you've said elsewhere, a good (and IMO productive) mind exercise.

Beautiful layout of feathers. Prince is certainly a 'Prince' of a Peacock.
I had a pair of Peacocks continuously terrorize me why'll I was building a house in Kiln Mississippi, I came very close a few times to finding out what they tasted like. Their owners apologized a few times for their behavior.
Ah, but let's take a look at what it can do to attract females. (Photo taken at the Chongqing Zoo)
A photo I took of a Chinese artist's rendition of two peacocks.
Both are truly beautiful, Buzz. Peacocks are a very popular subject for many artists due to their majestic array of varied colors.
The one on the top shows that 'the eyes' have it, and what Lady Peacock could resist.
The one on the bottom is a wonderful display of the beauty of the Peacock and all its radiant colors. A great artwork.

Sydney Harbor, with the Opera House on the left.
The second photo is the Sydney bridge which connects Syndey with north Sydney.
The last photo is where I'll be fishing when I get an invite.
The land that the Opera House is sitting on is called Bennelong Point. And the general area of the Opera House is called Port Jackson...

Is that the Opera house that you had your 'night at the opera' visit with Red that you mentioned some time ago.
One and the same. The Opera house nor Sydney will ever be the same. LOL
Nor will Red I bet. LOL!!
LOL. I remember the story about Kavika's "Night at the Opera".

You have an invite any time you'd like to come. I haven't had an excuse to get out on the lake all summer. Made Greyson really unhappy.

Wait, what!!! I better stop now. LOLOLOL
Sounds a bit 'fishy' to me......
That fish is a "winnie', er, I mean winner - especially when you hold it closer to the camera...LOL.
This is just to tease you "Catch and Release" guys here:
It was SOOOO good!
Don't be sad;
Don't get mad.
Enjoy the flowers and...
...something, something clever that rhymes with sad.
Hahahaha! Sorry I missed last week, I'm training in on a new job and I'm lucky to know what day it is at any given time.
Good luck with the training!
Great photos, lots of good color.
Excellent series of photos, EG.

Good combination of frame work for the subject. The color of the Bamboo frame sets off the coloring of the subject. Great match!
Here's another of my creations.....
Yet another fantastic creation.
Thanks Buzz.
One more.
