It is a garden hose but it's to take some water from the lake and water some of the plants and trees since this was in the middle of a severe drought in the area.
Beautiful and adorable pictures, Mac. We had ducks, geese and chickens when I was growing up, and whenever I sent out to play the babies would follow me all over and sit in my lap while I played Jacks. Their little peeps are very soothing, and they looked at me and seemed to answer when I talked to them. (grin)
Indeed it is. Man is nothing compared to the artwork of the Creator. His artistic abilities and resources are limitless. What He has shared with Man are simply the basics, and we are to let our own imaginations and dreams guide us in our own creations.
Very true. As you say, the frame should complement the image, not detract from it, nor over power it. Like a background, it should enhance and help define the tone and 'feel' of the overall concept of what the artist wants to project in the artwork they create.
IMHO, the overall artwork should encourage the viewer to dig into their own imagination and find what the creation says to them. Each person sees something that perhaps no one else sees, or at least does not stand out to them the most. It could be as simple as a beautiful flower, or color combination, that sets the tone and meaning they derive from the artwork themselves.
All I try to achieve is leaving the viewer with a good feeling, and perhaps some insight and better understanding of the customs, traditions, beliefs and Spirituality of the Native American people.
Whatever my creations speak to the viewers, I only hope that it brings them a smile and appreciation.
Just itching to get this started.
Your duckies are just adorable. I'm in love!
Ducks heading out to open water because Wiki was chasing them...LOL
LOL, bad Wiki!
Is that garden hose there to keep the lake topped off? LOL!

Sometimes you just have to scratch an itch.
Got an itch, gotta get it.

And other birds of a feather......
Exceptional RW.
Thank you, Kavika. They are but a sampling of the many Spirit and Sacred Birds of the various Native American Tribes.
They could also be known as "Father Sky's Many Warriors."
A beautiful burled wood framing a combination of wisdom and power - a treasure.
Thanks Buzz.
Ducks? You want ducks?
Great pictures, Buzz. Beautiful Ducks. I love their coloring.
Quackery? No … just Goosing up the number of comments!.

That picture looks more like a painting. The coloring and contrasts of the water makes it even more beautiful.

Well, it's still Friday, so … one more pic … a stream in the Colorado Rockies.

With the warmth and vintage effect of sepia.
Sorry Mac, I can't see where the stream is. But, otherwise it is truly lovely.
The bright white area is the stream which is reflecting a bright, hazy sky.
Ok...thank you. It is so light here that if looks like the sun shining on a path of some sort. Thank you for the clarification.
This is my son in the upper Klamath River on the Oregon/California border. The water temp is around 60 degrees...Photo taken in 1974.
60 degrees water temp and he is smiling like that? That is one very brave Warrior even then! (smile)
Not sure that he's smiling, more like shock...LOL
LOL! I thought about that as well. I know that would be my reaction to being in water that cold.
He looks pretty happy to be in cold water. Is that his hair or a fur hat he's wearing?
It's his hair Buzz...LOLOL he has a lot of it.
A couple more feathered friends ......
Another beauty RW.
Thank you Kavika.
Besides the warm feeling of the picture, the frame is perfect.
Thanks Buzz. Sometimes finding the right framing to bring it all together can be the hardest part. (smile)
I think of framing as a way to complement, beautify, and draw you in to focus on the picture itself.

Exceptionally beautiful, RW!
Thank you very much Mac. I truly value your critique of my work.
