Took this just over a week ago from the front porch, the light was amazing, but this picture from my phone (with my lack of skills) doesn't do it justice.
No problem, just wanted to let you know. Usually when I see one like that (I just see an icon and it says attachment) I can right click and open it up. This time it gave me an error though.
Same her, Buzz. If I want to post an image or video I have to first click on the square with the > in it, then click the Upload Image and go from there.
The crape myrtle in our yard is starting to grow its new branches. We cut it back each Feb/Mar and by mid-May the new growth will be 3 to 4 feet long and by mid-summer anywhere from 6 to 12 feet of new growth.
We've done it both ways. Without trimming they tend to get very large and stringy looking. I prefer trimming them back and keeping them under control. They get very full and with a large of amount of flowers on them.
Thanks Ender. Buzz has been on me to sell them for a long time, and then the coffee table book. I wish I had the time to indulge in either one, but, my Beta Testing assignments and my own website takes up a lot of my time. And I have to work on the artwork in order to rest my Spirit and have some fun. (smile)
If I did open an online store I would hire Buzz as my salesman and make a fortune! However, I think he'd likely be a slave master. (jkg)
Thanks Buzz. Experimenting is the most fun about doing artwork. Expanding one's imagination, challenging to do things that defy doing, and being able to sit back and enjoy it when things all come together.
My desktop has finally been repaired so I have access to all my photos. Because the university campuses where most of our Spring flower shots were taken are still closed, I am posting a series taken in previous years - reminders of the beauties we are missing because of the virus.
Yea!!!!! Glad you got your desktop fixed Buzz so you can now have access to all your photos. These are beauties, and brings Spring right here before my eyes!
Beautiful, Kavika. Thank you for sharing it. When we lived in Pawhuska OK when I was young, I was 'adopted' by the Grandparents of a Cherokee family who were neighbors, and spent part of my summer vacation with them on their Rez. I learned a great deal from my adoptive Grandparents and many others on the Rez. What I was surprised to see was that many of the Mothers there still used the cradle boards for their babies.
can you find the trout fisherman dwarfed by the beauty and breadth of nature?
I spotted him, but he is pretty inconspicuous. He seems to be working the area downstream from the three rocks. Likely the best spot for a trout to hang out.
Here are a couple of my favorites. I think I've posted them here before but they're the nicest springtime pictures I've got. Taken at some property I used to own in June of 2002.
Roads less travelled. When I was a kid there was a forest nearby in which I used to wander, and your photos remind me of those carefree and fulfilling times.
FAR OUT!!! Another sign of Spring just popped up in the back yard this afternoon. Warm and sunny.
A little fuzzy. Grey was moving at the time. He also ended up with a red spot (probably going to be black and blue tomorrow) on his glove hand. His dad keeps trying to convince him that they put webbing on those gloves for a reason and that he shouldn't catch the ball on the palm of the hand. He doesn't care as long as he can get outside and let off some energy.
He's in the shadow of the leaning tree trunk. IMO he is necessary to the picture in order to determine the size of the stream. Without his presence, one might think it is a much lesser waterflow.
Now I want to go fishing! Like Kavika's friend, Can't Catch Fish, I am not good at catching fish. In fact, I think in all the years I have been fishing, I have only actually caught 3 fish. And one I won a prize for the largest Catfish of the day in a fishing contest I attended with my Father and had not really intended to fish myself. However, my Father nagged me to fish with him, so I sat with my pole in the water to make him happy. To my totally astonishment, my bobber took a dice and I jerked the pole up and caught the fish. I was just going to throw it back, but, my Father made me take it up to be weighed and measured. Then I quick threw it back while it was still alive.
You could have beat me to black and blue with a wet noodle when they announced my name as the winner of the best catfish. I won a great telescoping fishing rod and reel, which I gave to my Father, as he was drooling over it while I was dancing around with excitement and disbelief. People were starring at me as if I had lost my altogether, which at the time I think had.
And...that's it. The only time I ever won anything for fishing, and the last fish I ever caught.
A/noon...Yes just waiting to hear from Melbourne when I have to go down and do the stem cell transplant. Not the worlds greatest timing re the coronavirus but just have to go with it..Otherwise all has gone well and can't ask for more. Hope Mrs Mac is still doing very well...At least you are heading into Spring now, Autumn has arrived today with a vengeance..Cold, wet and windy...Sigh...
I'll help keeping it going. I don't intend to post China photos on the Front Page any more. There are right-wing conservative now EX-friends who have such Chinaphobia they may think they'll catch covid-19 from them.
A wet market in Chengdu a short walk from where we lived - and although we were there many times we never caught a virus.
A.Mac, I can remember when you were concerned that there was so little interest in this group, hardly anyone posting photos or other creative items, or even commenting, but I take note that this article has at this point 178 comments, which exceeds pretty well any article or seed I have ever posted.
I guarantee this is worth your time … the performers in this video (which includes my grandchildren), many of whom are part of my daughter's performance company.
Stay safe, post whatever you can, old or new.
Beautiful landscape photos Mac. So peaceful and serene. Very calming for the Spirit.
Beautiful landscape photos Mac. So peaceful and serene. Very calming for the Spirit.
Yup! You'd never know I was a raging caldron of anger.
No, I wouldn't think of that...as the photo is so well done that you managed to hide your anger very well. (smile)
Really lovely landscape photos, Mac. I can't wait till we start to see some leaves.
This couple were practicing some social distancing a couple of days ago in the front yard -
They are real cuties.
LOL. Good for them - I've seen newsbroadcasts that indicate that a lot of Ameican youths refuse to comply with safety guidelines. Good luck with that.
Not just the youth. Right now outside in the road four adults are playing basketball.

Love me those little birdies. Really nice shots EG!
Nice photos of male and female House Finches, EG!
Thanks! I really like the new lens. The colors are so much better than the old kit zoom.
Took this just over a week ago from the front porch, the light was amazing, but this picture from my phone (with my lack of skills) doesn't do it justice.
For some reason it is not showing up for me.
Sorry, I don't know what I did wrong and what to do right!
No problem, just wanted to let you know. Usually when I see one like that (I just see an icon and it says attachment) I can right click and open it up. This time it gave me an error though.
I don't know if I did this the same or differently than the first time. Not very good at this!
Click on the BOX WITH THE ARROW POINTING TO THE RIGHT symbol at the right end, at the top of the comment box, it's just to the left of the IMOGI
When it opens you'll see a tab that says "Upload an Image" -- Click on it and where it says "Size" scroll down to "Original" and select that
Then under "Image", click "Select an Image to Upload and Insert
Assuming the image is on your computer, you should see it and CLICK ON ITS ICON and Click on "OPEN" at the bottom of the the images box
That should put the image you choose in the comment box
When I click on the "eye" image, all I get is a window that says "preview" and "close", nothing else. Nothing happens when I click on "preview".
Same her, Buzz. If I want to post an image or video I have to first click on the square with the > in it, then click the Upload Image and go from there.
MY ERROR and MY APOLOGY. I corrected the error, it should read …
Click on the BOX WITH THE ARROW POINTING TO THE RIGHT symbol at the right end, at the top of the comment box, it's just to the left of the IMOGI
It doesn't open for me. Maybe A.Mac can convert it to a regular format.

I have a few of those in the yard. They are so pretty when they get their flowers.
I hope you and the Mrs. are doing well in your part of Florida.
Thanks Jane we are doing fine as is our attack dog, Wiki Warrior Wonder Wiener and our foster dog Guinness Stout.
Hope all is well with you and yours.
Thank you too. So far all is well.
Here there is always an ongoing debate about trimming them back like that.
Some call it crape murder. Haha
People still do them both ways. Untrimmed they can get huge. Some people forget they are trees and can get rather large.
We've done it both ways. Without trimming they tend to get very large and stringy looking. I prefer trimming them back and keeping them under control. They get very full and with a large of amount of flowers on them.
Lots of elderly people where you are - hope all are okay.
Everyone who lives in the apt complex where I live are over 55 yrs. It is a Seniors only complex.
This is a picture of a raspberry margarita. They are pretty common in my area. I plan to sip it while I enjoy everyone’s photos.
Cheers 🥂
It's 5pm somewhere in the world. Go for it JaneDoe.
that looks good! Do you have raspberries in it?
I do and it is good!
It looks like the drink is looking back.
Beautiful. I can almost taste it.
I could use one of those right now.
I hope all is going well for you!!
Mr Giggles snapped this this morning:
Is that Iris? I use to have those all in the back area around my old house.
Yes, Dutch iris. I love these things. They are so easy to grow and proliferate like crazy.
I was wondering what they were since they look like Irises but the are up so early.
Our flowers bloom earlier than what they do in the North East. Daffodills start blooming in January down here
Spring evening. Northern New Mexico. 2006
Beautiful.
If you want the photo bigger when you choose the size pick xxlarge 512px. That is the best size for photos on NT.
That is the size I usually use.
I'll try that next time then. Thanks.
Is this okay?
Looks good to me
Nice shot Steve, reminds me of the 19th C. American artist, Henry Ward Ranger!
You are in good company, my friend!
Did not know of him. But I will learn more.
That is a great photo, Steve. Love the contrasts between the sky and the tree branches.
Nice silhouette.
Wow, gorgeous shot, Steve.
Thank you.
Another shot from down the road from my house in Philly.

Beautiful.
What a beautiful photo of a very inviting pathway and surroundings.
Now, THAT is a great photo.
You certainly have some lovely places to go walking etc...
Great shot Mac. I love those little bridges. They are so romantic.
All that talking and I didn't post anything. Ha
This is an old pic but I loved it. I actually posted this on the vine and people didn't believe I took the shot.
Wow, what a great photo. A magic mushroom
Now that is some 'shroom, Ender. Great shot!
Great shot: Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric or fly amanita,
Hallucinogenic, if not deadly.
So I have heard..
Thanks all. His younger brother was not as attractive.
The first one is so perfect it looks like a sculpture, but this one is more natural.
Exactly Buzz.
Fantastic!!!
Very cool shot Ender! It doesn't even look real, it's so perfect.
Well, it's still a bit early here, so I will post my Thursday creation......a bit different technique.
Oh, I really like that one. The blue frame is intriguing and, IMO, really enhances the art work.
Thank you Kavika. I toyed with several different colors and styles of frames before settling for this one. It just fit it best.
I swear, you could open up shop and sell those things.
I suggested a coffee table book, although a gallery showing would be cause a sensation.
I would want one.
Even make a calendar. So many options.
Thanks Ender. Buzz has been on me to sell them for a long time, and then the coffee table book. I wish I had the time to indulge in either one, but, my Beta Testing assignments and my own website takes up a lot of my time. LOL!! Yeppers...that's Buzz!
Your experiment with a new technique has created a memorable fabulous creation. Keep experimenting.
Thanks Buzz. Experimenting is the most fun about doing artwork. Expanding one's imagination, challenging to do things that defy doing, and being able to sit back and enjoy it when things all come together.
I love this one Raven. Blue is my favorite color.
Thank you Perrie. It's my fav color as well.
fabulous, as usual...
Thanks Dev.

Best ever, Buzz! Every one!
Thanks A.Mac.
I love the last photo. I remember it from another essay that you posted.
Or was it this one?
Lovely photo essay Buzz. We have been missing you.
Thanks, Perrie.
Stunning, Buzz !
Thanks, Pat. Well, I'm back.
I like the fluorescent yellow of the mustard.
There are virtual seas of those flowers here - seem to be in every vacant lot. Are they called Mustard flowers?
Looks like mustard to me. The small new leaves are great to sautee with onions and some meat fat. The yellow blossoms have subtle sweet scent.
OK...it's Friday.....time to share another bit of artwork.
Lovely.
A Native American Raphael!
Thanks Mac. (smile)
It reminds me of the ''Plains Madonna'' by Charles Banks Wilson.

A good southpaw is the key to the starting rotation.
You should teach him to switch hit as well.
He's been working on that one. Not bad either way, although still more power with the right side.
He's in the shadow of the leaning tree trunk. IMO he is necessary to the picture in order to determine the size of the stream. Without his presence, one might think it is a much lesser waterflow.
Yup … scale makes it all come together.
Which is one of the reasons why I said long ago that I thought that something man-made (or in this case a person) is beneficial to a photo.
Now I want to go fishing! Like Kavika's friend, Can't Catch Fish, I am not good at catching fish. In fact, I think in all the years I have been fishing, I have only actually caught 3 fish. It's snowing again, but the juncos don't care.
Snow is WI or MN in April, naw fake news...
We got about an inch yesterday. It'll all be gone by the end of the day today.
I forgot to put the /s tag on my comment.
Looks like he's listening for worms crawling under the surface.
I'm one of those Eagles Fans you hear about from Philly.
© A. Mac/A.G.
Looks like he is either landing or getting ready to take of.
Beautiful Eagle, Mac. Very majestic looking.
I've never seen a live eagle, unless I just can't remember seeing one in an aviary.
Eastern Rosella get them in my garden....
Good one, Shona … and hope you are doing well.

Now that is a truly very colorful bird, with various color combinations and spots as well.
Beautiful colours - red, white and blue like a flag.
Let's keep it going!
A Digital Painting.
Great White Egret
© A. Mac/A.G.
Have no regret that it's an Egret.
Totally beautiful! It looks like it could walk right out the picture!
Reminds me of the markets in Vancouver, B.C., Buzz!
They're called "Wet Markets" because they're constantly being washed down so water spills onto the floors - as you can see in the first photo above.
A.Mac, I can remember when you were concerned that there was so little interest in this group, hardly anyone posting photos or other creative items, or even commenting, but I take note that this article has at this point 178 comments, which exceeds pretty well any article or seed I have ever posted.
Buzz,
It's heartening to say the least, particularly because there's no discord, and, all's positive.
A rainy Sunday night here, and it calls for something to chase the chills away.....
Well, yes, I certainly get warm feelings when I look at that image.
Thanks Buzz. Glad it worked for you.
You have never posted an image that DIDN'T work for me.
Thank you Buzz. I truly appreciate your kind words of support and encouragement.
I guarantee this is worth your time … the performers in this video (which includes my grandchildren), many of whom are part of my daughter's performance company.
Wonderful, just wonderful.
A great video, Mac. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Please watch the video if you are able to, I promise you’ll find it quite moving.
I did....and indeed I found it very moving.
