The Palace Museum is also known as The Forbidden City.
Believe it or not, I knew that. It goes back to the Ming Dynasty?
You really have to trust your crane operator to be willing to hang on the hook as they move you around the building. At least he's not up that high I could do that but when I see footage of guys working fifty stories up my stomach turns and I'm just watching on TV. I know you're dead either way but I'm only good for about 10 stories then I get Vertigo.
In Hong Kong, they still use bamboo scaffolding and it goes up numerous stories.
Any bamboo scaffolding I've seen here that is bamboo is usually only 2 or 3 floors high. Otherwise it's steel.
I'm not happy high up as well. When I was a little kid I went up to the observation floor of the highest building in my city, the 18th floor had windows from the ceiling to the floor and when I got up to the window I got down on my hands and knees. Decades later when I went to the very top deck of Toronto's CN Tower, the floor was very narrow and the windows started at the floor and jutted outwards. I repeated getting down on my hands and knees. LOL. You won't catch me stepping on one of China's glass-floor bridges.
Great photos, I really like the little kid and the goat photo.
I just woke up and checked my article and saw that something weird had happened to the first photo, so I have just replaced it.
