Chongqing is the city in which we are living. It's possible that those people are more comfortable than in an air-conditioned room in the present 100 F and higher temperatures these days.
Sensible people...heaps of ways to get around heat etc without air con..I hate air con even in the car..I use it once every blue moon...and then it has to be at least 40oC..
Yep, it's a great way to beat the heat - electricity isn't cheap. However, being from Canada (at least previously known to be a cold country where there were 4 seasons - winter, winter, winter and construction) I can't survive here in one of the "Three Furnaces of China" without the A/C.
My mother taught me how to play MahJong when I was a little kid, but now that I'm in MahJong country I've forgotten how.
I would majong is probably the most popular game in Brookline MA.
I'm not going to explain that.
Okay. I won't ask "Why not?" then.
Most people in the US have never heard of it, but it is popular in Brookline as are Chinese restaurants.
Going to continue this in a PN.
Good idea.
Fix your PN so that it accepts notes.
My PN to you didn't work, so I sent a PN to the R.A. to find out how to fix it and that PN would not go either so I had to send her a regular email about it. However it's 10:30 p.m. now and I'm going to sleep soon. Have to wait until my morning to deal with it.
No reply from the R.A. yes, so time marches on.
PN now fixed and I got yours.
Good.
I've done this once or twice while overseas. The only thing I would add would be some overhead cover to provide shade and it would be perfect.
Yeah, when I saw the guy with the exposed back I figured he was heading for a sunburn.
I thought the same thing.
Well, one of Chongqing's nicknames is The Misty City, and it is mistly a lot of (but not all) the time, and it could have the effect of sort of filtering the sun to cut down on the intensity. People here do walk around outside with umbrellas on sunny days.
