Following a blast at a hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday, Hamas immediately claimed that an Israel Defense Forces strike was to blame — but the evidence does not support such claims from Hamas officials pretending to be impartial government ministers inside the Gaza Strip. In fact, the evidence disproves what Hamas — and many of its sympathizers in the media and politics — have said.
Instead of what Hamas rushed to claim, it appears the attempt to blame Israeli forces and further demonize Israel and its people is nothing more than scrambling to draw attention away from the mass-casualty event that was, in fact, the result of a misfired Hamas or another Iran-backed terrorist's rocket and, potentially simultaneously, an attempt to cover up the fact that Hamas was again using a hospital to house terrorist infrastructure and weapons stockpiles.
Here's some of the video circulating that shows the cause of the explosion:

In addition, Al Jazeera unwittingly broadcast live video of the terrorist rocket misfiring and blowing up the hospital in Gaza City.

The blast occurred just minutes after a large barrage of Hamas rockets were fired toward Tel Aviv and Hamas reportedly announced that they were in the process of launching their "most robust weapons" at Haifa just before the hospital explosion — but no such weapon reached Haifa.

After an initial investigation on Tuesday, the IDF said they have evidence showing the hospital explosion was in fact caused by a botched Hamas rocket launch intended for Israeli civilians, potentially from the surveillance drones swarming the skies. What's more, IDF was not active in the area of the explosion at the time it occurred.

IDF: An analysis of IDF operational systems indicates that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza at the time it was hit.

Even pro-Gaza outlets have reported that the hospital was struck by a misfired rocket which also set off more terrorist weapons stored in the hospital.
Reports continue to surface that a misifired rocket detonated a stockpile of munitions held on the hospital grounds. #Gaza

Subsequent investigation by the IDF led them to the conclusion that the explosion was caused by a misfired rocket launched by Islamic Jihad, a frequent coordinating partner of Hamas:

It's no secret that terrorist rockets launched from the Gaza Strip — often cannibalized from street signposts, sewer pipes, and other tubes intended for other peaceful uses — often misfire and land inside the Gaza Strip.
Lots of talk in recent hours of a failed rocket launch striking the grounds of a hospital in Gaza. I think it's timely to remind viewers that rockets produced by terrorists aren't always effective. pic.twitter.com/7UxVZMqlDI

Also worth noting is the fact that Israel called for the evacuation of civilians from hospitals and other locations in the northern Gaza Strip on Friday — something Hamas worked to prevent by blocking evacuation routes and telling residents to stay put in order for the Iran-backed terrorists to maintain the presence of human shields.
As Fox News Channel's Trey Yingst pointed out, every claim from Hamas and subsequent reporting of those claims must be scrutinized and verified — but that hasn't stopped pro-Hamas media outlets from quickly parroting their anti-Israel narrative.
Also can't independently confirm the number of dead/injured. Reports indicate hundreds killed. Trying to confirm details. This will take time.

If IDF assessment correct, every single news outlet should retract immediately and issue apologies. An attempted blood libel carried out by western media 10 days after the massacre. New standards needed ASAP from top executives across all outlets. This CANNOT continue.

The immediate amplification of Hamas' claims fed the fire of anti-Israel sentiment on full display in the United States since Hamas' massacre of Israeli civilians began last week — hateful sentiments that, even after being almost immediately disproven, will sadly continue to spread courtesy of shameless individuals such as Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).
Hamas just bombed their own hospital, full of Palestinians, after a rocket full of shrapnel and fired at Israel fell short (which happens 40 % of the time). Now you know what Israel goes through, where is your condemnation? https://t.co/NvNKC024b6

This is a developing story and may be updated.
Editor's note: This story was updated to clarify which Iran-backed terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip was responsible for bombing a hospital there. Islamic Jihad launched the rocket, Hamas worked to cover up their partner's war crime.

It would not surprise me if Hamas or Islamic Jihad were to put remnants of burst Israeli missiles into the rubble and then had independent observers check out the rubble. I'm sure the media and the bleeding hearts who have been protesting in favour of the terrorists would believe them.
Evidently Joe Biden has seen the Israeli evidence and responded with this:
After Biden landed, he seemed to endorse Israel’s denial of responsibility. “Based on what I’ve seen, it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you,” he said. “But there’s a lot of people out there not sure.”
Biden’s Arrival in Israel - The New York Times (nytimes.com)
The other team?
This situation required a STRONG STATEMENT from him - I think his brains are still on their way to meet up with him.
Lol, I couldn't agree more!
I saw a statement from him that was pretty strong IMO.
So why the discrepancy? It's simple:
His earlier statements were relatively weak because evidence was just starting to come in. At the time there seemed to be some evidence Israel was not the culprit but IMO not enough to be 100% certain.
But as time went on the evidence kept getting stronger.
I saw a later statement of Biden's -- it was not wishy-washy.
IMO he should have addressed those who believe what Hamas says and point out to them what weak fools they are for believing what Hamas says..
On MSNBC, Nicole Wallace seemed stumped as to who is telling the truth:
I know you can't see it Buzz, but how does anyone elevate what a gang of terrorists who decapitate babies say with what the democratic government of Israel says?
Rachel Maddow is on there saying "I wish we could get US intelligence. She ended by saying "the truth matters."
From what another member indicated on another seed what the evidence was how could anyone NOT be convinced it wasn't Israel that did it. I would never put any credence to what Hamas or Islamic Jihad would say anyway. If you recall, Israel had the HONESTY and INTEGRITY to admit that one of their soldiers had shot that journalist in the West Bank, and I absolutely believe they would have admitted if one of their missiles accidentally hit the hospital.
Agreed. It is times like these when we find out where everyone (governments and individuals) really stand.
I wonder how long it will take Madcow to pivot to "The truth will never be known" or "The damage is already done".
Actually, the damage HAS already been done. Hamas' lie about the source of the hospital bombing has already provoked the weak minded and those who hate Israel and Jews anyway to threaten a wider conflict and to increase the protests. The protesters are too ignorant and biased to change their intent, but I hope the threatening nations will accept the truth and cool out.
The weak minded were looking for a reason to act out. If it wasn't this they would have manufactured something else. Of course it doesnt help that a few of our congress people seem to be continuing the lie even after proof has been shown.
I hope the voters will keep that in mind for the next election.
The thing that worries me most about this is that, regardless of who did it, Hamas has gotten a lot of mileage out of this. I wouldn't put it past them to manufacture more "Israeli strikes" to further destabilize the ME and increase the chance of the conflict widening.
And Israel hasn't even responded to the Hamas attack yet.
What? You haven't seen images of the rubble?
I call that the preparation for an invasion along with Israel telling Gaza residents to leave before it all begins.
Israel has to take out infrastructure and certain Hamas leaders as well as doing a bit of surveillance. The military has a term for it.
Yes they have.
But the fact in this particular situation is-- neither Israel nor Hamas did it!
At this point its pretty certain that it was an Islamic Jihad missile, not Hamas'.
Islamic Jihad is a much smaller group than Hamas, & they are even closer to Iran. They also fire missiles at civilian targets, but for some reason over time its been shown that Islamic Jihad has a significantly higher failure rate than Hamas"-- (fired missile that explode pre-maturely, when still over Gaza-- often wounding or killing Gazans! )
BTW the hospital that was hit has a long history of operating during conflict.
As do the hospitals that weren't hit. (Hospitals are like that...
The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah called for a “day of rage” today.
The U.N. Security Council scheduled an emergency meeting for this morning.
Thank goodness-- now the entire Middle East conflict will be resolved in short order! (/sarc)
More of the enemy gone
Like the left, they hide when the going gets tough.
Yes. (And thank goodness its only the left-- no one on the right would ever do anything like that! (/sarc version 2)
Talib is still promoting lies. She needs to be held accountable.
Agreed. (But just how, exactly, can we do that effectively?)
Full congress censure her/them in the strongest possible terms and be very vocal in public that she/they are talking shit.
Doesn't your holy First Amendment allow her to tell those filthy lies though her ugly teeth that promote antisemitic violence against Jews?
It has also been reported that there is intercept intelligence of Hamas operatives discussing the Islamic Jihad mistaken bombing of the hospital.
Thanks-- good information!
Never mind that, the Arab/Muslim nations and protesters don't believe it, because they cannot admit that "one of their own" did that.
Who really cares about Palestinians and who just wants to use then as something to bitch about?
