15 Photos Chosen From 12 1/2 Years In China
These photos have been randomly chosen from the library of photos I have taken from my first coming here until a couple of months ago. They have all been re-edited and framed for better presentation.
1. This was omitted from the photos I took of my TV screen during the special Chinese New Year TV Special a little more than a month ago.
2. Photo from a diorama in the Three Gorges Dam Museum in Chongqing, about 11 years ago.
3. Graffiti on a building wall of the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, from about 2 years ago.
4. The ancient Drum Tower in Xi'An, where the Terracotta Warriors were discovered nearby. I took the photo about 12 years ago.
5. From when I was living in Zhengzhou, farther north, about 5 years ago.
6. From the campus of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute a year ago.
7. I call this "Floating a Loan".
8. World War II Memorial Tower in the centre of downtown Chongqing. Chongqing was bombed excessively by the Japanese, and was where the American "Flying Tigers" were based.
9. Mountainside trail at Shaolin Temple, birthplace of Zen Kung Fu.
10. I don't recall where I photographed the "Fat Buddha".
11. A Koi Pond in Suchou, near Shanghai, from about 10 years ago.
12. A diorama in the Palace in Millennium Park in Kaifeng, Henan Province, from a decade ago.
13. The ancient famous poet Li Bai, who loved his wine.
14. A wall at Millennium Park in Kaifeng.
15. The Chinese People's Liberation Army artillery. Be very afraid, America. Be very afraid.
Just enabling you to see things you have never seen before, and in most cases never will.
I like photos of works of art, like 13 and 14.
We'll probably be going to China this summer for the World Basketball Championship. I'll keep you posted.
What city will be hosting it? Are you going to tour as well? Any chance you will get to Chongqing - if so, it would be great to meet.
