Amusing you have described Joes Crap Shack to a T. I forgot, Tookie's in Seabrook is a great hamburger joint. Sadly the coldest beer joint I have yet to discover, well other than my own damn fridge. There use to be a wonderful little dive in Kemah called Southshore Beer Garden. A hole in the wall where nobody could ever find you with the coldest beer ever! However because it was such a whole in the wall it was completely washed away in Ike. So wish they would bring it back. Thanks for the FR!
I don't know of any really stellar eating establishments in Kemah, I like Ichibons and I hear Skippers has great Greek food but haven't tried it yet, T-Bone Toms is great for BBQ and of course steaks. I try to avoid almost all the restaurants on the Boardwalk as they are mostly Landry's owned. Not that there is anything wrong with Mr. Landry, its just there is nothing right about his food. Now watering holes there are plenty of good ones in and around Kemah all the way down to Galvetraz, but one word of caution the Kemah police are everywhere! 40mph is 40mph and not a mile over. I didn't go to the Crawfish Festival but I do know it was packed because I forgot it was going on and decided to do my grocery shopping that day. I won't make that mistake again.
Hey thanks for the welcome Captain! Pasadena, we literally are in the same woods. I'm not on the island anymore (well I still work on the island I just moved from it though) I'm actually even closer to Pasadena as I'm in the Kemah area now. I like it so much better, not as many tourist and all the associated traffic.
