I was there and just for information purposes it is a man made geyser the result of an oil well leak. The well never produced oil by the way. The colors are caused by the minerals in the water and it looks very odd in the stark brown of the natural location.

I've been by it, but have not made arrangements with the owner to get up close and personal with it. Nevada is known to have a huge amount of geo thermal possibilities.
