Reminds me of the time the server went down at a place I used to work. One of my staff accountants asked if they could go home. When I asked why, she said she couldn't work without a computer.

I handed her a pencil and a pad of accounting paper and told her to write down the entries she would need to make. She was lost.

Sometimes the only way to solve a problem is the hard way ( though these days I prefer a snow blower myself). Thanks for the chortle Robert.

Steve

I learned accounting and bookkeeping with a pencil, a ten-key and green sheet ledgers so I know what you mean

I remember a time about ten years ago when my grand son was playing in the den and pulled a book off the bookshelf and starting looking through it and then promptly asked his grandmother why we had a book (encyclopedia) that had pictures from the internet?

Quite a laugh for all of us.

But the generational difference is quite clear, when we picked out our retirement home the biggest selling point for me was a finished basement that has a family room and a room that I turned into a library. My three boys have similar set ups in their homes, but the room is a media room versus a library. Also very telling

Thanks for the feedback

Luther

You are so right and I also use a snow blower these days, but if I find myself out of gas I know how to perform the operation manually as well.
