Follow the link to see more quotes from different authors on how travel has inspire the in their writing.

I was fortunate in my career in the military and as a HR Director in a global company to serve in many interesting places and learned much from the experience - my boys were born and grew up in foreign countries and their lives and education were greatly enhanced by those circumstances.

Has travel influenced your life? Care to share?

There was a sign I saw a long time ago advertising a Funeral Home that read..."See the world before you leave it." Great article RIO!

..."See the world before you leave it."

That is very good advice.

I treasure the memories of all the traveling I have done around the world. Now older and retired, our traveling is basically to see the three boys and a few close friends that live around the country.

Thanks for the feedback

One expands their concept of diversity and diminishes vestigial xenophobia through travel. Although I have in my lifetime travelled throughout Canada and the USA, the Carribean, Bahamas and Bermuda, many countries in Europe and the Middle East, North Africa and now China, I wish I had travelled further abroad during my youth.

I agree - I learned so much from the places I lived and work and the people I interacted with in all those places, it shaped who I am and who my children are today. I have family and friends that essentially never been out of NE Ohio except for the occasional vacation somewhere within a days or two driving and they see the world quite differently than I do. Not sure either view is better or worse and certainly neither is right or wrong but they are different.

Thanks for the feedback
